Chapter 3

—Chance POV—      Mmmm we need to f**k that one Chance. I’m more then ready to take her. We could have done it on the kitchen counter but you decided not to due to some sense of guilt or something.    Chance roiled his eyes and huffed out an aggravated sigh. He was more then aware of Victoria’s presence whenever she was around she didn’t know it yet but she belonged together with him. And being raised by his mother and father, however short a time, taught him to be chivalrous and gentlemanly to any woman that he came across.      It was hell for me to try to stay away from my sister’s friend, best friend.   It broke every code he could think of to date, let alone mate, that was a friend of Rosertina‘s. The day i had defended the two of them was when i finally realized that she was my mate. Granted i was very well hot and bothered for her like every other single male, but being a gentleman, i always made sure that other people were around when we  were together so that she was protected from my baser desires.    I just wasn’t sure what i was going to do about my sister’s reaction to the two of them. I didn’t want to steal her friend but i am finding it harder and harder to control myself. .     That morning has been dangerous. I had been able to smell her arousal the moment she walked into the kitchen. Being in charge of pack made it easier for me to notice her favorite foods as i cook for the pack frequently. Bacon, potatoes, celery and peanut butter, and my favorite commonality, frozen mocha Oreo dessert.  It was a dessert that mother used to make a lot when we were younger.    Hearing her stomach growl this morning as she was walking down the stairs was still fresh in my mind. She was always hungry which made his job easy for pleasing her.  Just give her some of her favorite foods when she’s angry or sad, she brightens up quicker then a light switch turning a light on and off.    As I walked around outside after breakfast had finished up and the dishes were completed I went in search of the alpha. His son was coming home in a few days and I wanted to be one of the ones to greet him when he first got back.     Axel and I have been friends since as far back as I can remember. He was one of the only guys that didn’t make fun of me after my parents had died. Since I am the oldest of both my sister and I, I needed to be strong for the both of us and it wore on me quite considerably. I was depressed for a little while until Axel stepped in and truly became my one and, kinda only, friend. We played when we were younger but our friendship truly developed after our parents passed.    Of course that isn’t my only purpose in going to see him. I just happened to find out a few years back that my dear, sweet, shy sister had the hots for him. I also didn’t tell her exactly when he was coming home but I had a sneaking suspicion that they were.    “Yo!!!! Chance my main man how ya doing?”    Great just what I need. I rolled my eyes before turning to find Trevor coming my way. While he never did any harm to me or my sister, he was a part of some slight bullying in school that ended a long time ago. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he turned over a new leaf but I couldn’t lie to myself. He is still a jackass.    I waved without any enthusiasm and slowly approached him.    “What do you need?” I didn’t want to talk to this bozo any longer than I had to do I kept my greeting clipped.      “Ouch that’sa way to greet a friend. What’s got ya in a tizzy? If you need some female relief to loosen that tension I have some fine gals that you might be interested in.” He threw his arm around my shoulder as if we were best pals. He was the womanizer of the pack and got away with a lot more then he should because his father is the third of our current alpha. It is upsetting that he doesn’t treat any of the girls he’s with with respect. If anything they are just playthings to him.      I had overheard multiple times when he joked about only having one mate and that instead of having only one he wanted to have multiple partners so he never got bored. He was a sick and twisted bastard but I couldn’t do anything about it. Neither did I want to he needed to be taught manners but I was going to let someone else have the honor of that task.     I reached up and removed his arm, dropping out at his side. “I’m not tense, just deep in thought. There’s a difference.”   He rolled his eyes and snorted. “Whatever man. Hey by the way have you seen Victoria anywhere?”    My wolf immediately raised his heckles and growled. Down boy.  I turned a deadly look towards him and studied his features.    “Why?” My voice was mixed with my wolf making it seem deeper and menacing.     Trevor turned and took in my response to his question with wide eyes. He took a step back but smirked at my reaction.    “What got the hots for her yourself?”     Let me at him.      With pleasure.     Just as I was about to shift, “STAND DOWN”, was growled at both of us in the alpha voice. Lowering my head I turned away from the dipshit to show respect to my alpha. Alpha Linx was a fair alpha but not to be trifled with. He had his moments of sheer terror to anyone who threatened what was his to protect.     “Don’t you have somewhere to be Trevor. I believe your father needed you on the practice field for training?”    He raised his eyebrow as if begging for Trevor to contradict him, but he was smart enough to not go against the alpha. He bowed his head before turning around and going to the training area.     “You okay son?”    I smiled and looked the alpha in the eye before answering. “I was doing just fine actually. He has been getting on my nerves recently but I have been wanting teach him some manners. But unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be my place.”    Linx smiled. “That it isn’t but who knows. You may have to defend someone from him in the future.”      “I hope I don’t have to do that but if I ever do at least I know that I have your permission to do something about it.”    He laughed and patted my shoulder like a father would his son. Even if he and the Luna weren’t my true parents, they sure treated me and Rosertina as their own.  It was nice to have them as parental figures. They made it easier to cope with the loss we felt years ago.  It also made it easier when they seemed to always show up when either of us needed them.    He looked at me with a searching gaze, the alpha gaze if you will, before speaking again.    “You looking for me for something. What did you need?”    “You know it really kinda creeps me out how you know these things even when I don’t mind link you. It is quite unsettling sometimes.” He laughed and smiled before motioning for me to go on. “I wanted to ask a favor.” —-writer— Hey readers just want to thank those of you who are enjoying the story.
