Episode 1
“Get on your knees and strip.” Gwen heard her boss say and she looked up at him in shock, trying to understand if he was messing with her or playing some sort of game.
“Excuse me? Why do I have to do that, sir? That old man out there tried to harass me! You're supposed to be on my side—”
A harsh slap resounded on her right cheek and her head tilted to the side in shock as her boss glared at her in anger. She was being harassed and punished for trying to protect herself.
Was this what the human world was like? She thought. She wanted to return to Arizona, far away from the evil and lust that ran in human blood. But after the destruction and extinction of her pack, she has nowhere to go.
Returning to her hometown, which was miles away from Colorado, wasn't something she would want to face again. She hated the fact that she survived while her parents and everyone else died, but she didn't survive alone.
Which was why she couldn't give up. She had to take care of her younger sister since she was the only family she had 's 've
“You will get on your knees, strip, and beg for forgiveness from that man. You will do whatever he tells you to do. Am I understood?” Her boss growled in anger as he suddenly pulled her hair and without thinking twice, she stomped on his feet harshly.
He let out a groan of pain as she pushed him backward and let out a chuckle of amusement.
“Strip? Beg for forgiveness? Who the hell is he, God? You and your old man can go to hell, I quit!” She yelled as she pulled the bar's uniform off her head before slipping her shirt on.
Even alphas weren't so bossy, yet they wielded so much power. She couldn't help but wonder what would happen if humans found out about their kind.
“You b***h! You think I'd let you quit just like that?” He yelled as he pulled her back and slammed her against the wall, causing her to let out a sharp groan of pain.
“Not until I have a taste of you. You think you're all that because you're pretty? I'm gonna take my time enjoying you and—”
His breath stank so badly.
She didn't let him complete his words as she placed her hand on his chest and exerted all the force she could muster. His eyes bulged out in shock as she pushed him and he went crashing into a stack of cartons by the side.
She smirked knowing that even though she might not be able to shift into her wolf form, she was still a werewolf, and she had more strength than those lousy humans.
Gwen didn't pause to see if he was still conscious or passed out, she simply walked past him and left the bar through the back door. She sucked in a sharp breath of fresh air as she stretched her hands over her head.
She just lost the job which paid better than any other jobs she took. But that was fine. She still had three other jobs that would sustain Freya and her. Freya was the only family she had, and she would do anything to make sure she was comfortable.
It was already midnight when Gwen arrived at their small cabin and found that Freya was already asleep. She walked up to her and gently stroked her hair, a small smile on her face as she watched her sister sleep.
Her smile suddenly faded when she saw a letter on the table and she picked it up to see that Freya's college tuition fees were already due. Freya had always wanted to blend in with humans and begged Gwen to help her get into college.
She dropped the letter on the table and turned to see that Freya was already awake with a soft yawn widening her lips.
“I have something to tell you, Gwen.” She started softly as she sat up, and Gwen raised her brow in confusion. No words of welcome or hugs; Gwen was worried instantly.
“Tell me. What is it, Freya? Is anyone bullying you? Did they find out your identity?” She asked in worry as she held Freya's hands and she immediately shook her head in denial, causing Gwen to let out a sigh of relief.
“I know you've been trying your best for me, for us, Gwen. It's been a year since we moved from Arizona and I know you've been doing a lot just to make me comfortable. Even going so far to get me enrolled into a college.” She muttered and Gwen nodded in response, urging her to continue.
“As you can see… my tuition fees are due and I didn't want to bother you—”
“You're never a bother, Freya. I'm doing it because I want to. You're my younger sister, and it's my job to take care of you.” She replied as she gently pushed her hair off her face but Freya sighed instead and took her hands out of hers.
“That's not it… I didn't want to bother you so I decided to pay the tuition fees myself. I tried searching for jobs here and there but it was difficult juggling school and work, you know? So I spoke to a few of my rich friends, hoping that they would help me…” Her voice trailed off as she looked away from Gwen and her heart sank in her chest.
Gwen could immediately tell that whatever Freya was about to say next wasn't good news. She took deep breaths to calm herself down while trying to stay positive.
“They agreed. But they weren't going to give me the money themselves. So they took me to this organization… They're called Typhoons. They lend money to college students who need help in paying their tuition. So I…”
“You took a loan from an organization?” She asked in horror and when Freya nodded, she stood up from the bed abruptly as she paced around in desperation.
Gwen felt that she had failed as a sister. She couldn't provide for her so Freya had no choice but to borrow money around.
“The problem now is… They've been threatening me, Gwen. The interest keeps rising, and I've been warned that if I don't pay by the latest tomorrow, they'd- they would sell my organs to pay up.” Freya's voice cracked at the end of her words and Gwen froze in shock.
“That's not the only problem, Gwen,” Freya added in a small voice and Gwen turned to look at her in horror as she tried to wrap her head around her sister’s words.
