I had called Tony and Sebastian back to New York. I knew that if my plan was to work, I needed my best soldiers. The search for Victor had stalled and from some high-level informants, Nicolai was unable to get what he wanted from Victor, and it seemed like his benefactors had called him back to New York for a sit down. That was never a good thing when the mafia heads that were bankrolling you were calling you back for a public spanking. I figured that was the best strategy right now, give Nicolai enough rope to hang himself with it.
