Freya finally healed and was ready to resume her school. She didn't want to attend school but had no choice.
The thought of having Jason as her mate still didn't sit well with her but there was nothing she could do, nothing except accepting her fate. Vicky spotted her walking gloomy into the classroom and rushed over to her, giving her a warm embrace.
“Fay, don't ever do that again. I've missed you” she hugged tightly
“You're crushing my bones” she grunted and Vicky pulled away.
“I heard what happened but didn't get the full gist as Jason, the jerk, didn't tell me the rest. So I decided to wait for you until you come” she said. Jason didn't tell her that they were mates, guess he was just too embarrassed to tell anyone about it. If Vicky doesn't know that means know one in the school knows.
A sigh escaped her lips then formed into a smile.
“It's nothing serious Vicky. Let's get seated”
Vicky kept talking about what Freya had missed in school but her mind had wandered off to the woods and back to what moon Goddess said. Jason hasn't arrived yet and nobody knows why. She wanted to talk to him badly about what happened to her.
“Freya Myers!!!” A male voice sounded across the room. The teacher has been calling her but she was so caught up in her world of thoughts that she didn't hear him neither responding to his answers.
She jerked at the sound of her name and got up.
“Yes.. Yes. Mr James”
“I've been calling your name, where did you keep your mind? Anyways we are happy that you're back. And for the lessons you missed I'll assign someone to help you with it” As Mr James finished talking, Jason walked into the classroom, his hands dug into his pocket and the other holding his bag which was crossed against his chest. He looked bored, or tired.
“Jason why are you just coming in?” He asked but Jason ignored him, walking to his seat.
“Jason!! You'll help Freya here with all what she missed. Do you understand?” The teacher yelled angrily at Jason.
Jason just nodded which give the teacher the satisfaction he needed.
He continued with his lesson and they all paid attention. The class came to an end but before he left he asked Jason and Freya to see him in his office.
The walk to the office was awkward. The tension was heavy between them and Freya thought of away to clear the air.
“So…” she began.
“I heard you helped me…. You know when I..haha” a nervous chuckle.
“Thank you” she spoke but Jason just ignored her.
Silence fell between them again.
“You shouldn't have done that you know” he spoke,
“I uh..I”
He stared at her for the first time then averted his gazing, increasing his pace and leaving her behind.
Her wolf whimpers. Her heart felt like shattering, as it sunk in
What have I done ?
“I invited you both because, like I said Jason here will be revising you all what we've done as his punishment for being late.” Mr James said, silence envelope the room.
“Here this is the list of what we did that you need to cover before the coming exams” he said handing a file to Jason.
“You class begins today at the library. You may leave” he dismissed them and they left.
“Let's have lunch first” Jason suggested and she found herself agreeing to it.
They went over to the school cafeteria, ordered what they wanted and headed to the empty tables.
Freya was uncomfortable with this but had to just comply.
“I have one thing to say to you before we start; don't mention this to anyone. Us being mate,it never happened and will never happen”
“And here you are having lunch with me” the words just flew out from her mouth.
He stared at her in silence, scanning her maybe, because he's face turned into a questioning one as his brows arched.
“How did you heal so fast. Normally it takes months, years even” he said sipping a drink.
“I don't know, the witch said it has something to do with my blood, I don't know. She further say that I'm half blood”
“Half blo..” a student screamed eerily, distracting their conversation. The turned to where the noise was coming from and saw a boy, changing to his werewolf and some vampires, attacking other students at full speed. The werewolves attacked and killed student so as the vampires.
It was as if they were under a spell or have taken some chemical that made their body functions on it's own. Whatever it was, they weren't in control of their body.
Students, screaming and exiting the cafeteria, looking for shelter among the chaos.
“What's going on?” Freya asked her heart slamming in her chest.
“ What ever it is. It's not good” Jason said. He got up and helped other student who weren't harmed into a music club
“Get in, get in” he directed the terrified students.
“Come on. Let's go” Freya still sitting on her seats didn't notice when Martin tapped. She nodded and he pulled her by her right hands, both fleeing to the library.
Jason turned to where Freya was once seated but found it empty, he scanned around untill his eyes landed on her with Martin.
He let out a low growl, and went after them.
Martin and Freya ducked under a table, Freya panting, terrified about the chaos.
“Shhh” Martin hushed her, placing his hands on her lips.
“We should be safe here” he said
“What's going on?” Freya said In a shaking voice
“No one knows for sure, I heard someone saying that, there was a gas release then…well, here we are. Some kids, wanted to skip. They went around back of the school and a gas was release, they said the people who release the gas wore mask” Martin explained while looking out.
“Listen student. The school is going on lockdown, where ever you are,we urgent you to stay put and stay safe. Help is on the way” a siren sounded and the speakers boomed.
It all got quiet, except for some noise that was heard outside. Student who was a prey to the beast.
Freya so freightened by the whole chaos, clenched her kneels and tears flow from her eyes.
The sniffles she made, brought the attention of Martin.
“Hey, hey it's alright” he said embracing her, she hugged him back and let the tears stain his clothes.
“I'll keep you safe, if it's the last thing I'll do”
His words melted her heart, as no one has ever said something so caring to her before. She felt more tears rolling her cheeks and she hugged him tightly.
The door of the library opened and closed. Heavy footsteps strouded the place, until it stopped at the table where they hid.
He raised the table up, revealing Martin and Freya hugging, emotionally.
“What is the meaning of this nonsense?”
