Chapter 12: Part Two

Tamir looked at me one more time and closed his eyes. I cautiously looked at him, then seconds later I couldn't believe what I was looking at. His hand was up and he was looking at his right arm. The thing that was blowing my mind was that real claws came out his hands. He looked at me and I noticed his eye color changed drastically. Then I knew he wasn't joking. This whole time, I thought we lived in a world where monsters didn't exist. I got over the fact that there were no monsters under my bed but this... this was crazy. Tamir took one step closer and then my body reacted. My legs sprinted away from the car and I ran to the direction of the woods with Tamir hot at my heels. He could be faster than me, well of course he is, but I can try. I let out a little cry and ran faster. Bright lights caught the corner of my eyes and I found myself closing my eyes tightly. I cried because I couldn't handle the fear. "Maddy? Maddy!" I heard a voice say. Was that David? My eyes snapped open and I was standing dangerously close in front of car headlights. I could've gotten hit! I looked around frantically for the voice. Someone stood in front of me embracing me in a huge, warm hug and suddenly I felt so calm and peaceful. I instantly smiled and dug my head deeper into their chest. They smelled so good and hell I didn't want to leave. "Maddy," the voice said and I melted. "Yes?" I said swooning and whoever was caressing me. "Maddy." I let go and looked up at the person who was just hugging me. It was the one and only, Marcos. I suddenly felt cold and betrayed and fear replaced the sudden feeling of warmth. "Marcos." "Are you okay? Where were you? What happened?" He said. His hazel eyes were locked with mine in confusion. His eyebrows were furrowed and his pink lips were parted slightly. "H-He was here," I said looking around. Tamir was gone. "I swear he was. He was chasing me! H-He showed me his claws and his eyes were gold and and.." "Maddy who was it?" Marcos asked. "T-Tamir." Marcos swore. "Did he hurt you? Are you okay? I will kill him," he said. Suddenly, Marcos was standing close to me and I had no idea how he traveled towards me so fast. He lifted up my chin and I saw he was examining my face carefully. His thumb rubbed over the cut below my eye and I felt no pain. It was like the cut was never there. His minty breath fanned my face and I closed my eyes. "Marcos," I heard a high pitched voice say. I opened my eyes, took a step back and stared at the very annoyed Azaria. "Okay, you found her let's go," Azaria said. I looked at Marcos and he looked at me. "You're right. Let's go," he directed to her. I walked towards the car and sat in the leather seat. Marcos and Azaria were having a conversation in front of the car while the headlights were on. Can they just get in? What if Tamir comes back. I sunk my head into the seat and closed my eyes. Then, I heard a tap. I looked up at the window and saw it was just a tree branch tapping from the wind. I let out a long sigh. "Jesus," I said. Marcos and Azaria finally got in the car and she was smiling like the evil b***h she is. I was thinking about telling Marcos what she did back at the gas station. Marcos began driving. "Hey, um Azaria. Why didn't you help me when I was calling you at the gas station? You walked out of the bathroom and acted like you didn't see me. Marcos could've saved me a long time ago," I said. Azaria turned around and stared at me and then Marcos stopped the car. "What the hell Azaria?" He said turning to her. "You saw her and couldn't help? Do you realize who Tamir is? Do you?" His tone became angry. "Do you!" He said. "Yes. Yes I do..." Azaria said sinking back in the chair. "So why didn't you help her? Are you jealous or something? You shouldn't be jealous. I'm not her mate. We're nothing but friends," Marcos said. My heart felt like a thousand knifes just stabbed me and my facial expression changed. I couldn't breathe and I wanted to cry. Why was I crying over a dude who just friend-zoned me? And mate? Oh god, no. "You're a werewolf?" I said looking at Marcos. Marcos turned to look at me and stayed silent. "Oh my god, where do I live?" I said musing. "Connors Hill," Azaria said smartly. "Is everyone a werewolf? Kat? Jayson? Stella? Ciara?" I said suddenly becoming uneasy. "David too," Azaria said. "What?" I said my vision becoming blurry. "How the hell..." My mouth slurred and it all went black.
