Chapter 3

1349 Words
A Stranger Among wolves “Could you tell me your name at least”? He said with a slow tone! “Lydia” “My name is Lydia” I responded as my heart pounded, my voice breaking, my heart kept beating so fast. “Don't be scared, I'm not going to hurt you, you can trust me Lydia” He whispered! Feel free to let me know if there's something else you want to talk about. At that moment, I just felt a quick relief, I thought he was going to kill me, I finally found myself breathing again, “This is Blackwood pack” he said! The people here are nice, you're free to stay, the wolves here are loyal and protective, be friendly so you can make friends, but be careful. He announced! He walked out of the room, quickly I rushed to lock the door, I leaned back on it, closing my eyes, I slid down to the floor. For about thirty minutes, I heard someone clear his throat and I froze, I thought I was just alone. Learning forward I see a handsome man sitting in a chair just around the corner. He nurses a glass of alcohol. His short hair is dark and his eyes are deep crimson colour, that doesn't quite look right. Suddenly, he shifted to me as I threw myself back against the door as my heart pounded. How and when did he get in here? I was sitting right at the door. For a moment I forgot, he is a wolf just like me, the only difference was, he wasn't a weak one. Is this how you greet all tge Alpha's? He rumbles with his deep voice through the room, with an edge of amusement on his tone. “I'm sorry,” I whispered, as I got to my feet. “I.. I thought I was alone.” I didn't know who he was, but I could feel the power radiating off of him, even without my wolf. He doesn't introduce himself either,of course he had no reasons to. “Come here” He ordered, I felt a lump forming through my throat, I thought he was going to kill me. I step around the corner as I was told, I allowed myself to be properly visible by him, expecting the worst as I closed my eyes. You're a wolf, correct? He said to me! “Yes,” I whispered. I couldn't stop thinking of who he was and what he was going to do to me, “You were attacked, correct? And how did you not know I was in the room? You should've scented me”. I couldn't answer that. I knew why I couldn't scent him. I knew why I couldn't scent his presence, but telling him why wasn't something I ever wanted to do. Where I come from, no one ever listens when I'm trying to tell my side of the story, they laugh and mock me. “You should open your eyes when talking to someone, it's dangerous not to look at them, they could hurt you, you wouldn't see what's coming after you. Has your Alpha not taught you that?” His deep voice made me shiver. I opened my eyes slowly as I lowered them, there was no way I was going to make eye contact. He leaned forward, carefully as he placed his glass on the table next to his chair, he was staring at me, I could feel it. I heard you were cast out from your pack, why would they do that? I didn't know who he was, I knew I could screw things up if I said too much. “I was punished”, I whispered. It wasn't far from the entire truth, but it was the simplest responde I could give him. There's a twitch on his cheek, as if he was angry to hear of such punishment. Or maybe he was amused by it, just like all the wolves on moonstone were. I couldn't tell which. Just then, the door swing opened as beta Kyle walked in. “I can see you've met Alpha Baron, Alpha of the Blackwood pack. “I'm so sorry, I didn't know it was you” I immediately rose to fall on my knees. “I wouldn't do that if I were you”, Alpha Baron said, his voice rumbles through the room, He rose to his feet, his hand coiled around my wrist. He was taller and had much muscle too. “Lydia” my name rolls off his tongue, “ Please sit, you've been hurt, don't bother yourself, Beta Kyle had already told me you were attacked. “You were lucky he was around. He found you at the lake on time. You're welcome to join us” “Go get ready Beta Kyle”. Alpha Baron seethes. “Our guest is here, you can bring Her if she wants to”. I had no idea what he was talking about, but I was happy that he was finally leaving. “You heard him,” Beta Kyle murmured. “Go get dressed you're coming with us” I didn't know what else to say, i ran my hand through my hair, my eyes fixed on the floor. “Are you okay?” Kyle mumbled! “Yes, I'm fine” I lamented! He swung the door open as he left the room. Alpha Baron is the only one who has come in and out without touching the door or going through the door. I didn't want to join them anywhere, I tried to figure out an excuse, then I found one, I would say, I had no clothes with me, I threw them all away at the lake while I was attacked, some were left behind at moonstone. Just then I heard a knock on the door, a lady with a bag full of clothes, “The Alpha sent me to get you this” She said! Her hand stretched out to me. I walked slowly to get it,I had nothing to say, and my excuses were gone, I couldn't think of any other one before Beta Kyle swing my door opened again, “Are you ready”? He said!. Come on let's go, don't keep the alpha waiting. I hurried to pick one of the dresses, put it on, wasn't sure if it was the finest, I had no time to check, I wasn't going for a beauty contest either. “I'm coming”, my voice roared in the room! Kyle walked with me, hand to hand till we got to the meeting room. The rooms were filled and of course with the eyes of the people I have never seen before. “Lydia don't make a sound” I whispered to myself as I walked through the room to sit on a chair that was reserved for me, right beside Beta Kyle. I knew Alpha Baron was studying me, they all were. They were all surprised to see a new face in their mix, except Alpha Baron, and Kyle. The Blackwood pack had a visitor from another pack, who were friends. It was a welcoming party, everyone was happy, drinking because there were too many to drink, and food. It was a great gathering, but I couldn't wait to leave, the attention and eyes on me were too much I couldn't handle it. They all had the same question, “who's she?” I guess they would know soon. I showed myself out, I couldn't stand the pressure any longer. When I got the house I quickly got in and smashed the door behind me, leaned on it again, slid my back down to the ground. “Tired”? A voice trembling from the room. I didn't know who it was, nor could I see who it was. “Who are you”? The party is not over yet, what are you doing here? My voice began to shake.
