Her Hybrid Alpha (book 2)

Chapter 7 Darius POV

"Is all that true ?" I ask Vax, and he doesn't answer straight away.

" Are all these people trusted?" He questions back eventually. Internally, I roll my eyes at him. " You know they are," I growl, and he just laughs. " I'm going to speak for myself now" he says. I'm about to protest, but he's already saying," Your stories are all true." The change in my voice takes everyone back except Anya. She just looks at me and grins. " Except don't get too excited, grandmother or mother. I call her. She was the one who raised me. She would not allow me to earth with all of my powers. Too risky I'd be hunted like the last time", he tells them.

" Wait sh*t is that Vax talking to us now ?" Mathew asks and I nod. Well, he nods.... assh*le. " Sh*t man my wolf can't do that. He's in my head, but he can't talk through me "Mathew says in mixed awe and what looks like sympathy for me. That shocked me for a minute. I expected them to be the same. I looked at Cage, and he was shaking his head too, agreeing with Mathew. " Well, I can through Darius. He is more wolf than he is a vampire. He's had my strength all these years, that's enhanced his vampire abilities, but I was muted, so I was only with him metaphorically. Mother kept me spiritually with her. Anyway, I wanted to come here, meet my mate and live an actual life. Mother agreed as long as most of my powers were stripped, and she chose a hybrid for me to bond with. Simply to keep people off the scent, I was real or back. Back then, wolves and vampires hated each other. No one would think I'd come back and share myself with a vampire. Those still around hunting me anyway. I was a pure wolf before, not a hybrid" he explains.

"So what powers do you have ?" Emily asks, her voice small, Michael's arms around her waist. " I can still do most things just on a smaller scale, like witchcraft, I guess mind reading and control of the mind. But as I said , just smaller " I felt him shrug. Then he shrunk back, giving me my damn voice back. "Would you quit doing that?" I spit and Tiron clicked his fingers, drawing my attention.

" That's how he's coming forward. Mind manipulation. They just said their wolves can't do it, yet yours can. He's not actually speaking, he just manipulates you to. Even getting you to change your voice, he laughs like it's damn funny. .

" What so he manipulated him to talk lower and all growly. What about actions say s*x ? Would that be Darius or just the wolf manipulating his actions ? " Anya asks with no embarrassment. Tiron nods and I can't help but laugh. " Told you I was an animal too baby ". She pokes her tongue out at me and everyone joins in the laughter.

"So what are we going to do about the situation now? We've established Darius now has some god wolf in him " Dante says. He's mainly looking at me, asking what I want to do. " I figured I could just go and explain all this sh*t and politely ask them to step aside "I shrug. This time it's Cage and Mathew that snigger. " Good luck with that "they practically say in unison.

That's how we all found ourselves here in the middle of the field just before the entrance to the pack lands. They'd said it was a stupid plan, but I figured what else could we do? I wasn't challenging anyone without them having fair warning and what way to do that. Then tell them who I am. That I wasn't dead as they all thought. So everyone had opted to come. The trees rustle around us and out came three familiar wolves. Paul, Finch and Leyton, two of the wolves, are growling while the other yips in excitement. It's not hard to decipher who was who.

" Finch, Leyton, knock it off, we are here to speak with the Alpha couple " Cage addresses his brothers. " How's it going, Paul ? " Mathew greets his excited friend. The one I think is Leyton turns back butt naked and all, with no qualms. I'm not sure which, but one of the girls covers him up. He looks down at his now cloth-claded body and scowls.

" Bridie made it clear you weren't welcome, now you turn up here with your whole tribe of whatever the f*ck they are, They are not hybrids, so they should not be here "he seethes.

Cage growls, his stance turning menacing. "Knock it off "he warns. Leyton didn't back down though, so I quickly stepped in before they started brawling. " Take us to the Alpha pair now "I ordered. I let Vax do his wolf power trip thing. His head seems to bow. It's obvious it's unwilling by the scowl on his face as he's doing it.

" Yes Sir " his reply is robotic and Cage actually laughs. " Damm use that voice and Alpha power on Bridie please, if no one believes you, they will after that ".

Leyton turns on his heel and walks us towards the opening of the village. We feel the magical protection the girl placed but as they're there, they open it up for us to enter. As we all enter eyes and crowds start to gather, curiosity about the newcomers and what we want is strong in the air. I grabbed hold of Anya's hand. She smiled up at me. " Ever feel like you're an exhibit in a zoo? " She laughed and I grinned down at her. Most of the eyes were definitely on me. When we reached the Alpha pack house there was quite a crowd walking behind us. It doesn't take long for them both to appear, followed by their betas and guards.

Bridie looks at us all in disdain, whereas Leon just looks confused. " What are you all doing here ? You do not have permission to be on my land " she snaps out. Cage and Mathew both look at me and nod. " The crowd is perfect. She can't just dismiss this claim, you have to tell them " Cage says to me. Looking behind me, I see more and more have arrived. This would drop a huge bombshell that would rock the whole pack, causing disloyalty and hatred. I couldn't tell the whole story out in the open, not yet anyway.

No matter what stories I have heard about her, I wouldn't put that sort of trouble on her. At least not yet. If she didn't step down peacefully, maybe an overthrow by force is what she would need. " We are here because we need to speak with you in private",I announced to them. Dante looks at me and nods his head. He knows my approach here and approves of it. Even in all the kingdom's takeovers, we never lead with violence first. We always give the chance in a peaceful way. Isn't this just another kingdom take over ? What we've been dealing with for the last few years. Except in this case, the history had more brutality. I had every reason to be pissed off really if I wanted to be.

" I won't speak with any of you inbreds, get off my land " she shouts. I look at Leon, and he looks torn. She sees where my line of sight is and turns her glare at him. He seems to shrink back somehow. How can an Alpha show that kind of behavior in front of his pack? Bridie looks back at me. " See now you blood-sucking miscreant, you are all not welcome ".

Anya lets go of my hand before I get the chance to stop her. She marches forward a couple of steps, her finger pointed at the mega b***h on the porch.

" Listen here b***h, keep talking to my mate that way, and I'll rip your head off. If you weren't so damm ignorant you'd also realize he's a damm hybrid. Not that there is anything wrong with vampires or any other paranormal, you dumb ass ". Bridie seethes down at her, she takes a step forward in Anya's direction. I see Sophie Hailey and Lisa all step forward too. This was about to turn bad, so I quickly pulled Anya back.

"Let go of me, I'm going to drown the b***h " Anya struggles and seethes in my arms. " Baby, calm down, we are not declaring a war yet, we need to approach this calmer. Do not let her get to you " I whispered in her ear. She doesn't stop glaring, but she does stop struggling, so I let her go. I step forward again, so Bridie's attention goes back to me.

" Listen, I'm here to claim my rightful place as Alpha " her eyes bug out of her head and then she laughs. Leon seems frozen too. I heard whispers through the gathered crowd behind us. " And why would you be the rightful Alpha? We do not even know you ". She laughs at me. I know this next sentence will cause chaos. Sighing, I ready myself for it.

" But you do know me, most of you will know me or will have heard the story of me. My name is Shawn, the son of the Alpha of the midnight mountain pack. The one who was taken away to be saved by my grandparents". Everyone around us starts shouting questions and gasping, demanding answers. Demanding, I back up my claim, but Bride. She doesn't budge, she just stares at me with a look that could kill me and I stare straight back. At that moment, I realized she knew I wasn't dead. Her lack of shock tells me that. Her grandfather would have told her and probably made her prepare for my return one day. She grins with an evil smirk, and it tells me all I need to know. This would not be pretty. She is prepared and it won't be by her stepping aside.
