Taken by the Alpha King

“Daren, you can’t go so far in there. We have strict orders to check the perimeter and head back to the house for a meeting.” Hoden shouts at his over zealous partner.  “I know but I just want to be sure we are not forgetting anything that’s all. I want to check over there and then we can go. Besides we can’t be too careful. I can swear that i saw a few of those troublemakers from the other pack hanging around these parts.” He says and he walks deeper into the forest. “You know they are harmless. They are just overly curious sometimes.” Hoden says to him.  “Well, you know the saying that curiosity kills the cat.” He says.  “What?? Okay. You know you are the cat in this scenario right ?” Hoden asks him.  “Stop yapping and let me do my job please.” He growls.  Hoden shuts up. He is thinking to himself that He should have insisted for Ven when they asked him to choose a partner for the afternoon shift. Now their shift is over but Daren is hell bent on checking the borders out. Some times he wonders how he made it so far. He should have been let go of since.  “Enough of the running around...... what’s that??” Hoden says as he looks at the barely visible dark clothes.  “Is that blood I smell?” Daren asks.  “Yes. I couldn’t smell it before because this forest is packed with opium and that masks our scent but that is definitely blood I smell.” He says. “Okay. Let’s check it out. But we on alert.” Hoden tells him. “Yeah. Let’s check it out.” He moves slowly to the dark figure on the ground.  The closer we get the stronger the scent of blood and the more viable the figure becomes. It is a wounded person.  “What is that? That’s a person? Is a man or a woman? Is a wolf?” Daren asks questions rapidly. “He is knocked out. He is barely even breathing. Let’s check it out.” Hoden says as he shifts the body.  The body is laid on the ground with the face to the earth so the face is obscured. Shifting the hand and the clothes out of the face gently both of them seize breathing.  Their breathes catch in their eyes.  Before them is a rare sight.  They have never seen a woman as beautiful as this before. The softest face with the roundest cheeks, soft pink raspberry colored lips that are parted in either exhaustion or pain. She looks dead or at least half dead. Her eyes are closed and her clothes are torn.  “It’s a girl...” Daren finally whispers. “Yeah. It’s a girl. We need to take her camp right now. She needs help. She’s barely conscious.” Holden stands up with shaking hands and grabs her gently lifting her into his hands as he takes her in the direction of the pack.  “There’s something here. I think it belongs to her.” Daren says as he bends down and picks up something.  Not looking away from the angelic face before him Holden replied him.  “Bring it along with you. We need to hurry. She might be hurt really bad. We need to check her out fast. Her pulse is dropping”. Hurriedly and quickly.  “Let’s go get her to the clinic quick. Hurry.” Golden tells Daren.  They quickly speed to the clinic drawing the eyes of people on their way to the clinic.  “I am going to go and tell the Alpha about our discovery. I don’t want him getting the news from someone else. We need to do this quickly and without drawing a lot of crowd. I am sure he wants to handle this himself.” Daren says running to the Alpha’s house before Holden can even stop him.  “Doctor!! Jen!! We need you here.” Holden shouts.  The woman rushes out with her eyes up looking worried.  “What is it ?? what happened ??where did you find her ??who is she?? is she injured?” She asks rapidly as she leads holden to the back where she can be laid on the bed.  “I don’t know. I didn’t check her for injuries. All I did was pick her up as gently as I could and brought her here for you to check her out. She barely has a pulse. I think she’s dying.” Holden breathes out harshly.  “She’s dying and I can smell lots of blood. Can you step outside please. I want to cut off her clothes and check her for injuries. She might be bleeding out and if I want to save her I need to stop the injury quickly.” She says already pulling off her clothes and throwing them to the floor.  Holden pushes himself out of the room reluctantly. He doesn’t even want to leave the girl. She is so small and helpless. Her eyes are closed and she looks like she’s fast asleep but she’s not. She’s dying quickly. “Can you call Greta for me ?? I need her in here now.” She calls out from the room.  Holden moves immediately and finds the brown haired lady outside tending to the kids.  “Jen needs you inside now. It’s an emergency.” He tells her and she drops the sweets and hurries to the room to meet her.  Holden awkwardly looks at the children as they all stare at him and then he walks back into the building.  He is worried about the girl. He is very very worried. He doesn’t know her but he feels like he has to protect her with his life and he will do that or at least try his best. In the crescent pack a lot of things are frowned upon and one of those things are strange people who show up at the borders. She is going to have to answer questions when she wakes up like who she is and how she found herself dead on the border of the pack and how attacked her in the first place.
