The Sinner’s python-like tongue was about to smash on the ground again, but this time, it was about to hit towards Jeross who can now barely move because of having used too much of his energy. I was far from him, that is why I couldn’t reach or save him from that terrific tongue. However, Solomon was fast enough to move, and with just a snap of second, he was already carrying Jeross on his arms, jumping away to the part where the Sinner’s tongue would land away.
As it smashed on the ground, it made a terrifying shaking of the ground, making me wobble as I ran. Because of the impact of the tongue as well, Solomon’s composure in the air was disturbed, making him jerk along with the after-shock of the force, and both him and Jeross landed badly on the ground. However, I know is not what would made them die.
It was my chance now. I am at the opposite side of where the Sinner’s tongue has landed, and I can reach the Sinner any second from now. It would take time for the Sinner’s tongue to go back to its composure, that is why I now took that opportunity, dashed faster than my normal, and landed a blow at the Sinner’s right leg. It was the firsts thing that I can hit on, because this monster is seriously huge. Well, it’s not that as big as the other demons that we have fought, but this one is hard to mess up with.
After landing a blow, I heard the Sinner screeching in uneased pain. I did not lose another second from it. I jumped high, and with the strength potion that I have just drank earlier (to save Valour) being still in effect, I have easily reached the Sinner’s face. No second thoughts, I forcefully s***h one of my jaded knives towards its left eye—it’s right eye were already closed and wounded because of Jeross earlier.
Because of that, we made the Sinner totally unable to see from now.
“Watch out, Sitri!”
I was shocked when I heard Solomon giving me a warning. I don’t know why is that so, but when I have noticed what it was, I am already jerking away of the demon. Though its tongue hasn’t moved yet from it being smashed on the ground, it had a second weapon on its arsenal: on its hands, there are metallic claws that popped in between of the base of its weird, plump fingers, as if it was a wolverine’s sharp claws in the x-men movies.
Good thing is that I was able to quickly react to its fast approach, that is why I was able to stop it slashing through my body by deflecting it with my jaded knives. However, the problem is that my hands were wounded (good thing not sliced of), and I am jerking away, landing a heavy blow against the ground. A grunt has escaped from me. Back felt burning. An unidentifiable pain surged through me as my visions swirled and then turned dark. I gasped for air, but it felt like I was swallowing a hundred degree Fahrenheit flames. I can sense that my eyes are widely opened, afraid that if I don’t, I would be closing it in a snap—and never would open again. Anymore.
A shadow figure of a man appeared above me. I couldn’t tell who this man is, because my vision is both dark and blurred. I heard him calling m.
“Sitri!”
However, I could not distinguish to whom does it belong, because all I heard was a deep, vague voice that sounded lie someone who is talking underwater.
Now a cold, tingling sensation crept from my lips, then to my tongue. It has a sweet taste, and because of its taste, I made swallowed the flavor. Later then, my gasp became stronger and louder. The burning sensation in my lungs were now gone, making me breath in repeated chaos. My vision and hearing went back to normal once again, making me realize who the man was.
“Valour,” I said in between of my breaths.
“Are you okay?” he asked. The worry on his face was hard not to notice. There were also tears coming off of his eyes.
“I am now okay, Valour. Thank you for helping me.”
Valour sighed, and, unexpectedly, he grabbed and hugged me tightly.
“I thought we’re going to lose you.”
I smiled. Hearing that has made my chest felt light and free of worries.
After him being satisfied in hugging me, he broke off.
“How about you? Are you now okay?” I asked.
He nodded. “The potion had an effect to me just before you got almost killed by the claws of the Sinner.”
Speaking of the Sinner, I looked at the creature with alert. Both Solomon and Jeross are fighting it once again. That is when I have noticed that the wounds and blows we have made on it, have healed. It restored to its usual state.
Damn, this Sinner is surely tough.
