-Bella- “To Skylar,” Carter said, raising his glass. We all mirrored his gesture—me, Mary, Kyle, and a few of Skylar’s friends. We were seated in a small area of the large living room on the ground floor. It was nearly four in the morning, but we were still awake. Most of the others had left, gone back to their places, or crashed here. A slow song played softly in the background, though I was too tired to identify it. “To Skylar,” we all echoed. We drained our glasses, and the clink of them being set down on the table resonated in the quiet room. “I need to pee,” I announced, rising from the couch and heading out of the room.
