Chapter 5 Karaoke Night

Ronan's POV

Sean, Roary, Brendan and I spend the whole rest of the night talking and catching up as much as we can in this small amount of time we all have together. I hate that he won't come back to the pack with us.. he is one of my best friends and someone I can always talk to and understands me, which is why I hate that he is gone. He is one of the only people I can truly trust and he knows it which makes this situation so much harder.. I missed my brother so much this last month but luckily I'm just feeling so calm with him and Ember nearby.

Her scent just seems to calm me almost instantly as it hits my nostrils and fills my senses. Which is good that she calms me because the longer I'm around her the more protective I get over her with all these men eyeballing her and wanting to f*#k her, I can see it in their eyes when they look at her. It makes me just want to rip their eyes out because she is mine and only mine.

See that, I don't know where these territorial and protective feelings come from I have never been like this ever with a woman.. It's probably just from being an alpha wolf but I keep thinking she is mine and mine alone.. Well and in the eyes of the Moon Goddess she is mine and my other half, but with humans it's different she is not mine in their eyes.. I'm just another guy. But maybe I can make her mine.. by her own choice.

I mean we have been flirting more and more over the hours I have stayed here and I think she is starting to really warm up to me.. but I can tell there is so much under the surface that she won't show but who knows why. I guess I'm the same though, holding my story back because it's a lot for someone to take in all at once so I have to ease it in for sure. So I'll try to sneak in information here and there.

There seems to be more people in the bar, now that it's later at night and I guess supposedly it's ladies night which means karaoke night in the human world.. I guess.. ugh.. most the women getting up there are awful at singing mostly because they are drunk and don't actually know the words to the songs like they think they do.. But with my amazing hearing this is getting unbearable and thankfully I have Ember to gawk at from afar and alcohol to help ease the pain I'm in at their shrieking.

Now the drunk women keep hitting on us over and over again from being so drunk and of course I want nothing to do with them now.. maybe before I would have considered it.. but not with Ember around and her scent embedded in my senses because now it seems like no one else is appealing except her.

I just watch Ember glide across the room and in between people joking and laughing with everyone, taking care of them the way she should.. I'm sure she makes good money with how everyone loves and adores her so much.

I never want to leave this place because it feel as if this is some sort of movie and man I would watch it all the time just loving how she is naturally acts when she doesn't think anyone cares enough to look at her.

Girl after girl gets called up to the stage from the list to sing, until we hear the name Ember over the microphone. I look straight to her behind the bar making drinks and she is shaking her head as the guys beside her erupt into cheers just for her. "Come on Ember please! Please!" They beg as she groans and replies, "Just one song!"

Everyone cheers around her as she scoffs waving every off, as she tries to fight her smile that wants to appear completely across her face in this moment. She takes the microphone out of the guys hand asking, "What song did you pick guys?"

"Your theme song!" They yell back in response as she laughs, shaking her head then replying, "Then you better get your drinks out.. I need one too before I can do this." She says playfully as the guys laugh and Nikki brings her some whiskey she just poured. She nods giving Nikki a soft thank you as she takes her place on stage and the music starts to play, filling the room as the whole place practically quiets just to hear her sing this song.

She sings and repeats the last lyrics as she holds her drink up for everyone to drink as she continues. "Throw them back until I can't count." She sings tipping her head back before she belts put with so much passion.

She belts the words sounding so amazing that her voice sends chills down my spine at the mystifying sounds exiting her lips.

I know I have heard this song before but not like this it's different. I hear the most amazing voice come out of her mouth that weakens my knees and shoots straight to my heart. I watch her and everyone else being completely captivated by her beautiful song that fills the room.. that apparently I guess is her theme song... It's like she is some sort of siren pulling everyone in to the depths with her amazing sounding voice and passion in her singing.

I watch her close her eyes and just get lost in the song and I can't help but get lost with her. You can tell she loves to sing and I can see why they would put her name on the list because I would love to hear her sing a million times over.

She is so passionate about her singing that you can tell she is putting her every last bit of soul into it and I think that's part of the reason this moment is so memorable for myself.

How did we ever get such an amazing mate! She is so talented.. She has to come with us.. We can't possibly live without her.

Cormac says to me and I couldn't agree more with him.

You're right we have to do everything we can to keep her but I think that means you will have to come out and see her because of her tattoo.

I explain to him as he starts getting excited

I will help out with anything when it comes to her.

He responds pretty quickly which makes me smile so big at his response.. He has just turned into a love sick puppy from his amazing mate so we just continue to watch her sing enticing us more and more.

"I'm glad she got to sing for you.. I knew you would love it " Brendan says into my ear from behind and all I can do is nod because I can't even take my eyes from her, I'm just completely entranced.

I wonder why this is her theme song but the whole moment is something I have never experienced and will never forget.. I can't give up and leave I have to try to win her over. I can't in good mind leave this place without her but that means I have only 6 days to do so now.

I watch her end the song as everyone erupts into cheers for her as her face blushes at their affections.

"Throw them back until you can't count!" She yells as everyone cheers louder taking a drink of the drinks in their hands as she throws back her whiskey into her mouth taking the shot like a champ.

The guys buy her another couple shots and she takes them like it's no problem before she continues to work her shift like nothing happened.

She walks up to our table smiling ear to ear after that performance. "That was amazing." I say to her she looks shocked at me. "Really? Thank you." She says to me as I just vigorously nod.

"I didn't think that type of song would be your jam." She says playfully as I shake my head and say, "It's not my cup of tea, but if your singing it I'll listen to anything." I say to her as she blushes at my comment. "That's sweet of you thank you." She says to me as she gets yelled at from across the room.

"I'll be back guys." She says as she quickly leaves to go to the other side of the room.. but by my watch it shows it's almost closing time.. so I need to figure out a game plan when it comes to her.

"Guys what do I do it's almost closing time.. I need to talk with her and maybe get to know her trying to progress with her somehow. I want her,, need her and going to have her. I can't do that if she is always at work being pulled each way." I say to them as they nod.

"Well I normally stay until everyone leaves and help them put up the chairs and clean up just to spend more time with her.. Well and I don't have much room in my place guys but you're more than welcome to stay with me." Brendan says to us as Roary retorts.

"I made sure to get a hotel close by earlier with our own rooms.. you know.. just in case." He says nonchalantly to us. "Maybe I can talk with her after and invite her over.. I don't know." I say to them getting nervous now.

"You always know how to talk with the ladies, why are you getting nervous now." Sean asks as I scoff and say, "But she is not like normal girls I'm use to.. my tricks don't work on her so I feel like I'm brand new at this.. I don't even know if she knows about werewolves if they exist or anything like that.. How am I suppose to just talk about all this? I don't know what to do I'm so nervous but I only have 6 days to win her over." I say to no one in particular as the guys look back and forth between each other.

"To win her over to take her with us?" Sean asks curiously and I just nod. "The more I have stayed here the more I don't want to leave.. I can't marry Rose I can't, I already didn't want to, but I won't be able to do anything with her because all I will think about is Ember." I explain as they all nod understanding my dilema.

"Well, do what you can and we will figure everything out for you both.. you could always ditch everything for her.. I do bounty hunting to make the money I need and they have really been needing help and it's legal, for the most part and great money.. so you have work if you need it.. just consider it if you can't leave with her to go to the pack, you can stay with her here." Brendan suggests to me as I nod.. not sounding like a bad idea at all.

"Thank you I will see where things go and try to see if I could win her over in the time I have available to me." I say to them as Ember walks over to the microphone and says into it, "Alright everyone closing time! You don't have to go home but you can't stay here!" She yells as most the bar guests groan and start paying their tabs leaving pretty quickly. Most the people leave as Nikki and Ember start wiping everything down cleaning it all up. Once the tables are wiped down Brendan stands up throwing all the stools on top of the tables helping them clean up..

So we do the same until Sean and Roary get my attention, "Hey man we're tired and need sleep so we're headed out are you good?" I nod vigorously at them as I say, "Yea I'll figure it out.. what hotel is it?" I ask as Roary laughs and replies pretty quickly, "I already sent you the hotel information and told them you would be there later so they have a card set up for you at the front desk. See you in the morning Romeo." They smile, wave and leave the bar headed out.

Brendan and I continue to help the ladies clean up and this is strange for us we never clean.. ever... we get things cleaned for us so I don't really know what I'm doing and I think it shows.

"It's best to clean in circles.. you know like the movie, wax on wax off." Ember says into my ear as I look confused at her. She gets a shocked look on her face as she asks, "You have never watched karate kid?!" I shake my head as she takes my hand into hers igniting those electric feelings between us.. as she hovers over me so her amazing scent just fills my senses once more.. She keeps trying to show me how to clean or I guess as she says wax on and wax off. But it's so hard to concentrate around her like this.

She smells amazing and the electrifying feelings between us is even better, I love it.. I feel like I'm addicted because I just can't get enough

Cormac says to me as I smile knowing exactly how he feels.

"Well thank you for your help, but you don't have to do that.. you know most people just go home after the place closes and they can't get more alcohol." She says playfully to me as I retort. "Well I'm not most people for one thing and two I wasn't here for the alcohol so it doesn't matter to me that there is no more.

"So then why are you here?" She asks me curiously as I wink and respond pretty quickly. "I think you know why." She blushes at that which makes me smile that I can have an effect on her somehow.

"Ok well with your help, I will now be able to get out of here in a minute.. so if you want to wait for me outside.. I can lock up and we can talk all about why your here.. if not for the alcohol." She says playfully to me as I smile and nod.

"Ok you're not going to ditch me locking me out once I leave are you?" I ask her as she giggles at that comment stating. "Well technically I have to lock you out since I have to lock the place up but I swear I'm coming out of this place. I work here all the time but I don't live here." She says even more playfully back to me.

"Alright I'm taking your word on this." I say as I throw my hand up in surrender slowly walking backwards towards the door as she giggles and follows me to the door not breaking our gaze until I notice Brendan isn't in here anymore as I look around the room and I think she notices this.

"Don't worry he knows the routine.. so your brother is outside probably waiting for you." She says to me as I keep moving out of the front door, she slowly shuts it looking at me on the other side as she winks then completely shuts the door between us. I hear the door lock and honestly get a little sad.

"It's ok little bro, they will be out in about 5 minutes at the most." My brother says from behind me catching my attention.

"So does Nikki know about us and what we are?" I ask him as he shakes his head. "No not yet I don't even know if she knows we exist.. so since I finally just got my chance I'm going to take my time to win her over enough giving me the perfect time to tell her.. hopefully." He says to me as I nod thinking the same thing except for the fact that I don't have all that time to try to spill all my personal information to her. So I have to try to do it the best that I can in the time that I have I guess.
