The Ancient Beast (Adere's Mission)

Chapter 52

The woman that the king of Abah was meant to marry did not think she heard the prime minister of the land of Abah clearly as he sat inside her chamber, the chamber that the king of Abah gave to her for her to have and accommodate herself with as long as she stayed in the palace of the land of Abah. As the woman looked at the prime minister across the table she shook her head and then said to him, "Why is it that you are the one speaking for the king of Abah, the king who was the one that invited me to this place and said I should make myself comfortable. I think if there did anyone who is tired of me already and would want me to leave this palace that person should not be you instead that person should be the king of this land. If you have nothing else to say to me and if the only thing you have come here to tell me is for me to leave this land for a reason best known to you then I must tell you that I am not ready to adhere to such order from you"

The prime minister stood up and said to the woman, "Very well then. Since you have decided to be another problem we are going to solve it is better I solve you right here and now" Before the lady could stand on her feet the prime minister ran her through with a dagger in his hand. The woman fell to the ground and stopped breathing at once.

The prime minister then left the chamber immediately and no one saw him leave the room.

Where Mori and Adere's mother were seated they could hear the sound of Edu and Adere with Renu and the rest as they kept changing while worshiping the god of the mountains of Akuzu. Mori looked up and said, "I think it will soon start to rain" Adere's mother looked up as well and said, "Well, there is nothing which can not be able to happen..It is too early for rainy season to start but if nature has insisted who are we to refuse" Just after he had said those words they heard a strange sound and then coming towards them, straight to where they were seated were very many people who looked the same way. Those were the watchers. They had come for Adere's mother and they did not expect to see another lady with her.

With their magical powers they perceived her presence and at that moment they rushed to sieze her but on coming closer to where she was they saw that there was another who was with her and the person was Mori. They did not want to miss their chances of going with her and so they decided that instead letting go of the one that they had come for they would rather go not just with her but with whoever was going to bring confusion to them and to their mission. And so that was how they abducted the both of them; Mori and Adere's mother and took them away from the mountains side.

When Adere and the rest at the mountains were done with their prayers Adere decided to go towards the road to where he knew his mother and Mori traveled towards and Renu said she was going to go with him. When they had arrived at the spot where they had imagined both Adere's mother and Mori to be they found out that there was a struggle there. They were shocked. It was Renu who said, "I think something has gone wrong with them, if not why is it that we are seeing footprints of people here. Let it not be that they were taken?"

"There is possibility that they were taken by some people. We must inform the rest and go after who ever did this" Adere tried to move but then Renu held him by the hand and said, "Are you sure you want to get back to the past. Let us go forward then and not in the past. Let us keep on going forward and not look back. The person that was taken is your mother and the person that has not yet been taken will have others to protect. If we search for your mother by ourselves it will give us more edge than going after those that took them with those that we are not to trust" said Renu. Adere stood there for a while and then spoke, "I am not sure if you will ever get over the fact that these things happen the way that they do. Well you having said this I have nothing to think of you than I have already thought of myself but having said this who am I to deny the fact that you feel things and that you know things as well. You have not gotten over the fact that Edu my friend is giving you wrong impression but aside this I think I buy your idea of having to go about this without having to inform anyone in our group about it. If it is in our destiny to meet with them some day again we will and it will not be that we are looking for the help of a man from the land of Akuzu but then we are being looked for to ask for help. We are not only going to leave them but if it is in our destiny to reunite with them then just the same way we met with Edu after we had parted ways with him and thought he was already dead we will still meet with them once again..I have grown to trust you my dear and I promise that I will be listening to you from now on. Let us go and let us go fast without looking at our back" Adere meant his words and before long both of them were out of the place without bothering to tell others, especially Edu about their plan to leave them there in the mountains of the land of Akuzu and go in search of Adere's mother and Mori who had been taken away by unknown people.

Adere's mother could not fathom the place where she was being taken to because her eyes were bound and she could not see anything. She was struggling but when she realised that her struggling was not going to help her she stayed quite and did not move an inch. She stayed like that for sometimes and then all of a sudden she heard a sound behind her and at that instance she heard one of the men that was with those that took her hostage, "She is not meant to die in our hands. We must stop to have her eat then we can continue with our journey but to allow her die of hunger that is a very dangerous thing" They then stopped their carriage and moved out of them. One of them approached Adere's mother where she was tied and said to her before he moved to remove the piece of cloth used in covering her eyes and her mouth, "I know that what you are waiting to do is to scream Immediately I remove this cloths from your mouth and eyes but that is not what I am going to do, instead I am going to have to make you understand something and that is the fact that if I remove this from your mouth and from your eyes and you scream it means you are not ready to eat anything and if you are not ready to eat anything I see no reason why I should allow you to continue this journey with us alive" The man then went for her eyes and first removed the cloth covering her eyes and the woman looked around and then focused her eyes on the face of the man that was looking at her and immediately their eyes met the man said, "You must not make any noise. I am sure you already know the men that are taking you hostage and I know that if you are aware of who we are you are also not going to be made to under of what we are capable of doing to someone who decides to be a thorn in our flesh. Now I am going to have to ask you this question and I will be expecting your answer with either the shaking of your head or the nodding of your head but in this case I would be expecting you to nod your head; now, you are not going to scream if I remove this piece of cloth from you mouth right?" The woman did not nod immediately but after some seconds she decided to nod and after she had nodded the man then slowly removed the piece of cloth that was used to tie her mouth. After he had removed it he waited to see her reaction but he did not see any negative reaction from her and so he sighed.

"Tell me what this is all about and who are you?" it was Adere's mother that had just spoken. The man looked at her unbelievably and said to her, "Are you actually asking me this question? I thought you would not need to ask having seen the birthmark on our faces and the color and the designs of our cloths. I did not know that having seen all of these you were still going to ask me this question. Well since you have asked I am going to tell you; we are from the land of Abah and we are watchers in the land of Abah. Meanwhile you can choose to call us watchers of the land of Abah" said the man but Adere's mother was not moved by those words of his. She was not looking shocked and it all seemed like she was expecting him to say that. It appeared she had already overheard their discussion before they came to open her eyes and her mouth. She kept looking at the man and the man said to her, "Did you not hear what I have just said or are you unable to make a sound?"

"You said that you are the watchers of the land of Abah. I have heard you but what I have not heard is why I am here with you all and why did you come for me?" asked Adere's mother and the man said to her, "It would be in your own best interest to not ask us so many questions because you might not get any answer to your questions instead what I would suggest that you do is that you take your mind off the game and off the very reason you have decided to do what you have decided to do..Let others who are going to allow you to do what is necessary to be the ones to help you. You have a son right, well we know about that son of yours but i did tell you that we are going to discuss about that son of yours, never, that is not what I mean, instead what you should be very much concerned about is how to stay alive first" said the man but before he was to go back to the rest she said to him, "I am not going to allow you and the rest of you to do to me what I am not ready to experience. You are watchers, one of the greatest evils in this world after the ancient beast"

"Aha! just so you know, there is something else that is far more evil than the watchers, that is if the watchers are any evil at all but since you have mentioned the ancient beast I have nothing else to try to convince you with that we mean no harm to you neither do we mean any harm to anyone connected to you but you see my dear there is something that we so much desire your son to do for us and he is going to have to do that not just for us but for all the people of the earth. You are the mother of someone that the world is going to honor and you should be very proud of him. His name is Adere and we knew him way before now"

Adere's mother did not think she heard him clearly and if that which the man said was what she heard then there was a bigger problem than she had initially thought. She looked at the man from head to toe and then said to him, "I do no know where this whole thing is leading to but be rest assured that you are going to be sorry for this"
