The Ancient Beast (Adere's Mission)

Chapter 34

The words of Mori was not moving the one that she was speaking to because already he had made up his mind to ensure that Mori delivers her powers, her gifts to him and there was nothing that anyone said that was going to be able to stop him from doing what he was determined to do. As he kept looking at her Mori hissed very long and looked away from him. She was not ready for that and she was not ready to allow things like that to be a hindrance to everything that she stood up for.

In the compound of the diviner Mori's father was there and he was pacing. He had been there since morning and he was wondering why on earth the very person that was supposed to come out and embrace him was not coming out. He did not know what to do or where to head to from there but he was quite sure that even if it did not go well as he planned he was going to ensure that everything went as he planned. Nobody was going to make him not to strangle the diviner if he laid his hands on him; why? because he had just been told by someone who saw the way the diviner left with his daughter how he left with her and he was sure that the diviner had kidnapper had taken his only child hostage. The father of Mori was so much angered that he staggered back to his horse and mounted it but before he could gallop away the man that told him what he saw waved him down and ran to him, standing by his horse he said to him,

"It is true that your daughter has a special gift. We all know about this now. You have no reason why you still would like to hide it from us. What I am saying is that since I am away of who your daughter is all I want to do is to be involved in her rescue. Permit me to go with you in search of her and i will be honored, so so honored to be part of it"

The man looked at Mori's father for sometimes and having seen that there was no trust in his eyes sighed and then continued with,

"I know for sure that you want to make things better for your daughter. I know that all you want right now is the safety of your only child and you would want to rescue her from the hands of those that had taken her but not do that with someone that you do not trust. I know that you so much would want to do this business with someone that you can trust but that is not to say that I am quite not into what you have decided to do for me. Allow me to follow you in search of this person that has taken away your only child and when we must gotten her out of him you can now decide if you are going to trust me or if you are not going to trust me. As it stands you can not decide now if that is the case, you can not decide now if that is what you want but it is already clear without being told that things like this happen. You do not need to fear me. just give me a chance"

"It is not about giving you a chance but it is very surprising that a grown up man like you would want to immediately follow me without knowing where I might head to in search of my daughter and you do not think that your family might get worried and demand to search for you in your absent? I would not put a man's life at risk by taking him with me to go hunt for someone so dear to me. I have decided that it is going to allow us go further in everything that happens. What it means is that even if we look out of this very window we are only going to do it because we feel it is necessary to do it and to save the life of an innocent girl but like I have said ealier, how about your family, are you not a married man, will your wife not look for you when you must have gone? Is that not exactly what it is supposed to be, that a man marries his dear wife and sticks with her? and yes that is what you are supposed to do. You do not need to follow me to a journey that you are not sure if I will be able to come back from it alive. You have known that it is not by our might that we do the things we do but by the ways by which things happen. Who knows if we are going to do things simply because we can make things out of it. Meanwhile it is just like that. Stay behind I have said and I will not say it again" Mori's father decided to gallop away as well but the man who had become so insistent said,

"It is true that I am married, or I was married but if the same man that took your daughter was the same man that took my wife then I have all the reason it takes to go after him with you. I was married and I was almost about to enjoy my wife like a newly married man who is excited to have his wife but then on the night of my marriage I went to my room to meet with my wife only to find out that my wife was no longer in my room..I called out to her and continued to look for her. I was so worried that I had to look for her hut by hut, all I wanted to find her and I could do anything to achieve just that. Finally i was able to trace her footwear and guess where I found them, at the doorsteps of the same man that has taken away your daughter. I did not want to shout at the man but I decided to go back into my hut and reappear with my bow and arrows. I wanted to kill him and to also kill my wife for doing what she did to me but something strange happened to me that night, something that I was not expecting and till today it still baffles me that such things happened"

At that juncture what Mori's father was actually interested in was to hear the full story of the man and he asked,

."What road did my daughter take with that diviner?" he asked, now ready to kick the horse and the man pointed towards a particular road and the man then mounted his horse which had been on a stake and they galloped away.

Before Mori and the man, that was the diviner could reach the place that they were meant to enter the diviner had to change his mind. He decided that it was better he did everything that he wanted to do by himself and take all the glory and all the benefit by himself instead of sharing it with anybody. He immediately turned the chariot towards another direction and began to gallop away. Mori was not understanding what was happening and she was forced to ask him,

"Why are you suddenly turning away from the path that we have been traveling?" she asked.

"What difference does it make, all you have to do is to sit where you are until I tell you that we have finally arrived. You have nothing to worry about" said the diviner.

"You speak like you are but down down your heart you are nothing but evil" said Mori.

The mountains of the land of Akuzu was covered with smokes. By the time that Adere and the rest of the people he was traveling to the mountain of rocks with it was almost night time and they were sure that there was no way they would be able to return to where Adere's mother and the rest that they left behind was that same day. Renu hissed and Edu shook his head as if he was bothered and Adere looked from his left to his right and said,.

"If I had known it was this far. I like the fact that we finally arrived here but Edu if you had told us ealier that it was this far we would not have asked my mother and Mori with the rest to wait for us that far instead we would have traveled down to this place or even near here before we arrive to this place. This will cause us to travel twice and that is a whole lot of stress"

"I am sorry but it has been long I have been here last. I had forgotten how far the road to this place was from the place that we left your mother and the rest behind. Meanwhile it does not still change the fact that since we are here now let us make good use of our time very well. It does not matter any longer if there is anything that involves anyone but having seen the way things are it is not actually a very dangerous thing but it is what we have decided to do that we are doing. What it means is that we will inspect this whole place to make sure that there is nothing like bandits or any other problem that we will be encountering when we enter here with the rest of us before can now go back to bring the rest to this place. Is that okay?"

"Nobody is doubting if it is okay, besides that was why we came to this place. What we are saying is that it is better if we all should join our hands together and make decisions, if you had told us that this was what we were going to meet we would have come here prepared. Well since we are here already let us begin the inspection right away" said Renu and Edu nodded and began to inspect the entire place.

Renu who still suspected the fact that Edu was up to something walked closer to Adere and said to him,

"I keep saying this and I will not stop saying it as long as I can feel it inside me. I know what I am saying when I say that there is something about Edu your friend that I am not comfortable with. I do not care if it makes you angry or uncomfortable that I am saying this now but if I do not tell you this truth no one will be able to tell it to you. This is why I am telling you now that it is better if we go ahead and do what we are supposed to do instead of allowing things to happen to us the way that they happened. Kindly know this to be a fact and please stop being the same person over and over again. I know exactly of what I am saying and I do not care if it hurts you. If you have decided to make me your person and your eye then it is vital that you listen to me because I have no reason why I should be thinking this kind of things, I will not gain anything from you distrusting him. If you look at it and find out that I would not gain anything then that is the time that you will decide to do what needs to be done and not continue to look at me as if I have become this one kind of enemy that wants your downfall by all means"
