The Ancient Beast (Adere's Mission)

Chapter Three

He ensured that they were able to cross the river safely but soon he started hearing voices of men who were coming towards them. He knew that those were the enemies and he did not know what to do. if he chose to fight there was no way that he would be able to overpower the men that were coming towards them. He looked at the faces of the young ladies hiding behind him and saw the fearful faces of the old men and the women and he felt very bad for them. He was not ready to let them go just like that and so he remained that way and waited for the worst. All of a sudden someone from the group that was heading towards them began to call out, "Stop hiding there beside the river. You do not need to keep hiding now that you have been discovered. All you have got to do is to come out and face us. You think that you can run for too long? Come out now!!!"

Adere knew that they had been discovered and that there was nothing else that they would be able to do. He kept on waiting to see what next that he was going to be able to do.
