The Ancient Beast (Adere's Mission)

Chapter Four

The men kept shouting to ensure that Adere brought out those that were hiding with him. Adere did not know what else to do except to come out from his hiding place. He told the ones with him that it would be in their best interest if they could go out to meet with whoever that was out there calling on them and commanding them to come out to meet with them. At that point the Adere began to walk out in order to go and meet with them because he did not want the men to start shooting arrows at them thereby getting the old men and women with them killed carelessly. As they all stepped out they saw that the men were carrying all sought of weapons and they had even hunting dogs with them. At that point there was nothing else that Chere could do except to keep watching to know if the men were going to have them killed.

One of the men stepped forward and stood before them and raised his torchlight to see clearly the face of Adere and those that were with him. He began to laugh and the men with him joined him in laughing.
