Chapter 68

The very reason that many began to run away from rain in the land of Abah, the very reason men and women of Abah, even the children began to hate the rainy seasons was because the ancient beast attacked only during the rainy seasons or that it attacked most during rainy seasons. Inside the room where Adere's mother was with Mori she was still speaking in parables and this was getting Mori uncomfortable. She was not sure if there was anything that was stopping him from doing what he was supposed to do but then he was sure that despite the fact that her son was going to come to where she was she was going to make sure that nothing stopped him from doing what he was supposed to be doing. "I like the fact that Adere will come to this place. We have missed them." said Mori and Adere's mother looked at her and gave her a smile. She would not mind having Adere her son marry Mori but could one marry a woman such as Mori, could one go ahead to marry such a woman, a woman whose power rests upon the horizon. She smiled once again and then said to her, "Me too my dear. I have so much love for Adere not just because he is my son but because he has a destiny different from the rest. So I am waiting for him to come here. I have told the king that i must see him before he sits to discuss with him. I am serious with what I have just said, I would like to have Adere come to me to discuss with me before anything else for I believe strongly that the major reason things happen the way that they happen is because of the way things have become" Adere entered the city of Abah with Mori and the watchers of Abah kingdom. They rode on horses that belonged to the Watchers and once they entered the city and into the palace Adere's mother who could see them from the window of her room said to Mori, "They are here already. It is time for us to go ahead and do what we are supposed to do. We are no longer going to allow them take him to the king of Abah without first having to bring him to me" "I understand what you are saying but if truth must be told I can say that the king would not want to have him meet with you before he meets with him and that is how it is supposed to be; let him meet with the king. Whatever you will tell him you will still be able to tell him and once you tell him whatever it is the king must have told him before you told him would no longer hold any water and even if it would still hold any relevance to your son he would always go with what you say before going with what others say" The words of Mori made Adere's mother to sigh and then he sat down and said, "You are right. I could see that they are already taking him to go and meet with the king. I can see that the king would want to have a chat with him before I do with him. I hope I will not end up selling my son for what I would not sell a chicken for" "I can understand how you feel but truth must be told I have to admit that the king of Abah has nothing against anyone who would help him to tame the ancient beast or to have him killed" Said Mori. "Well, having said that you should also not forget that it is not all about who makes what happen but about who chooses to make what happen. The king of Abah is striving to have someone lift off the burden off her shoulders than to have himself lift it up himself. He would become a tyrant, an open tyrant if this burden were to be lifted off his shoulders. He might turn around to go against everything that we agreed on" said Adere's mother. "Who cares. If truth must be told if we do not find a way of making the ancient beast to leave our land alone one thing is sure, the Ancient beast might have a way of bringing us to a point of lost. We can also loose everything if we try to do what we trying to do now. If we say we are not going to be part of the help that the king of Abah is requesting for then we are going to have to stay and wait for when the ancient beast would come for our lands, for our heads and when that time comes what happened to the land of Zinu through the hands of the king of Agori would be little compared to what would happen to us. So I suggest that the best thing to do is to allow things to flow the way that it is supposed to flow. Let us not use our own hands to stop our own blessings. Let us instead stand for what is right and let what is right prove those that are wrong that they are wrong. I support the fact that you decided to allow your son to come into this picture and to allow him have a sit with the king of Abah. When you meet with him remember that what you are required to do is to simply make him believe that you are with him which ofcouse will not be a lie because I am with you if you are with him. I have told you what I have seen of him and what he is going to be. If I do not support him to achieve what he is supposed to achieve then i will be the one bringing myself to a point of destruction. Let us be guided to the truth please and let the truth speak for all of us. Shortly in the palace the king of Abah raised his head to look at the watchers as they walked in with Adere. He continued to look at them. When they were where he was seated the presented Adere before him and Adere greeted him like a king that he was and then stood there wondering what next. The king then dismissed the rest and offered Adere a chance to sit. Adere waited for a while before he took his seat. After he had taken his seat he decided to make sure that nothing stopped him from looking at the king in the face. The king on the other hand offered him some nuts to eat but he shook his head. "You have to be free with me Adere. I have heard alot about you and by what I have heard I can tell that you are not just a man who has so much confidence to do what is right but that in the cause of doing what is right you have been deprived alot of good things. I know your mother, she is here in my palace and she is the one who agreed that we look for your. I would not have decided to look for you if you were not important in this place. You are needed Adere and that was why we had to look for you. One thing that you must know is that we are not as bad as people all over the world have termed us to be. Infact what we have heard people call us even our enemies in this land have not called us the same. We have not become the evil that can not be redeemed. Everyone who fights for what is right is always seen as a bad person..Have you asked yourself Adere why is it that of all places the ancient beast chose to live in a land such as mine? I mean the ancient beast has not chosen a weak land like Adab, it did not choose a land such as Zinu where you come from but instead chose to come from my own land, the land of Abah. Can you tell me why you think the ancient beast decided to live here with us?" At this Addre did not know what to answer the king but one thing he knew was that he was not being unable to say something but instead did not know what to say. He cleared his throat but before he spoke the king placed his finger across his lips to indicate stillness. Adere decided to keep calm to know what it was that he was trying to do. The king went to the window once again and looked out of it and then said to Adere without looking at him, "It is impossible for rain to fall at this extent without the beast unleashing itself against the innocent people of this land. I wonder why it has not yet started it's rampage but you Adere, you are here to help me" The king turned to face Adere where he sat and continued, "Adere son of Adere, I am very much inspired to tell you the things that I tell you hoping that with these words of mine you will be able to understand what I have asked to see you about. Your mother waits to see you. Do you want to see her before we talk or after?"
