How was I going to fix things with Mira?
She was right, I did give her hope that things with Enzo would work out and then basically snatched it away from her because I literally stole him from her.
While I wasn’t exactly proud of that, I knew there was nothing I could do to fix it. Enzo loved me now and there was no turning back for him. No other woman could catch his attention.
Which means somehow, someway, I had to make it up to Mira.
But how would I do that?
“Babe?” Enzo’s voice broke me out of my thoughts. “What are you thinking about?”
“Mira.”
He frowned. “Not while we were having s*x, right?”
“Of course not. I just…I have to do something, Enzo. She was my first friend here. She was nice to me when everyone else was so mean and now I feel awful that I’ve ruined her life.”
“You didn’t ruin her life, Celine. She’ll find another man.”
“Do you know she’s been in love with you like her whole life?” I asked. “Do you realize how devastating it must be to pine after someone, get them and then have them dump you?”
“Of course not. I’m the Alpha. No one has ever rejected me. I guess, except for you, but even you’re here now with me…naked.”
Enzo leaned in to kiss me, but I pushed his face away. “Is s*x all you think about?”
“Are other people’s feelings all you think about?” Enzo shot back.
“What does that mean?”
“Every time you were trying to come up with reasons why we couldn't be together, it’s always about someone else. It’s never about what you feel. You only focus on what everyone else wants.”
“Enzo, I’m an angel, it’s just in my nature to do that.” I responded.
“I understand, but babe, you gotta let that go. What do you want Celine? Without thinking of how it will make Mira or Grey, or even me feel. What does Celine want right now?”
I pushed everything else from my mind. I didn’t think about getting white wings, or saving my soul. I didn’t consider what would upset Mira or make Grey sad. I didn’t wonder what would make Enzo smile and be happier than I’d ever seen him.
What did Celine want?
The answer came so quickly like it had been waiting for me to clear my mind and find out what I really wanted.
I smiled at Enzo.
“What?” He asked.
“I want you. I cleared everything else out of my mind and all I could think about was how happy I feel when I’m with you. How excited I get when you touch me and how special I feel when you open up to me.”
Enzo kissed me. “I feel that exact same way with you. This is how I know we’re meant to be, Celine. So f**k what everyone else feels about that. They have nothing to do with our relationship.”
“I will try to do that, Enzo. I want this to work, I really do.”
“For the first time in my life, I do too.” He pulled me to him and I laid my head on his hard chest. “I never imagined I would actually want to lay with a woman like this. Why do I want to do it with you?”
“Well that’s easy,” I laughed. “I’m not just a woman. I’m an angel.”

We started our journey again the next day.
Paz was feeling a lot better and was even telling jokes to everyone else like he usually did. Everyone was laughing…except Grey and Mira.
Grey was kicking every rock he came across and Mira had her arms cross and stared straight ahead. I had to do something.
If only Mira didn’t love Enzo anymore.
Wait, that's it! I would just set Mira up with someone else and then she could fall in love with them!
I scanned our group and my eyes landed on Luc. He was the closest guy here to Enzo. I’m sure Mira could find something great to like in him. Luc would sleep with anyone, so why not Mira?
“I have an idea,” I whispered to Enzo.
“What is it?”
“Mira would get over you if she had someone else to focus on, right? So I’m going to set her up with another guy.”
“Grey? That’s actually not a bad idea.”
“What? No, not Grey. He’s still hurting from me ending things.”
“Mira is still hurting from me breaking up with her.” Enzo pointed out.
“Sure, but that’s why I’m trying to make her feel better.” I said.
“So why don’t you want Grey to feel better?”
“I do, just not with Mira.”
“And why not?” He questioned. “They would be a great couple.”
“No, they wouldn’t. I think I’m more aware of what Grey wants romantically and sexually.”
“Oh nice, Celine. Mentioning to your current boyfriend what you did with your ex sexually.”
“That’s not what I’m doing! I’m just trying to help Mira and I will find another way to help Grey,” I stated. “Actually, you should be the one trying to make Grey feel better since he’s your best friend.”
“Fine, the nice thing I want to do is set him up with Mira.”
“No, I’m setting her up with someone else.”
“Yeah, who?”
“Luc.” I smiled.
Enzo glared at me. “Why?”
“Because if she has a type, Luc is the most similar to you. He’s very good looking, has a great body, kind of skeezy, and very sexual.”
“I guess that makes sense.”
“So why are you still looking as though you stepped through a cloud unexpectedly?” I asked.
“I don't know what that means, but it feels like you don’t want Grey to move on from you.”
“Of course I do…just not with Mira.”
“Whatever,” Enzo rolled his eyes. “Go work your little pixie magic.”
“That’s very offensive Enzo! I am an angel and to compare me to a pixie is insulting! Pixies can’t do half of what I do. Wow you really know how to hurt me!”
I stomped away and over to Luc.
“Hey Celine,” Luc grinned. “Heard you and Grey are cooling it.”
“We are.” I nodded.
“Sorry to hear that. So, are you looking to heat things up?”
“No. But I know someone who might.”
“And that would be?”
“Mira.” I smiled.
“Isn’t she with Alpha Enzo?” Luc asked.
I shook my head. “They broke up. So maybe you can make her feel a little better?”
“Hm. A little to get over someone you get under someone else? I like it, Celine.”
“Um, okay, sure. So, what do you think? Isn’t Mira really pretty? And fun to be around?”
“I mean I imagine she’d have to be if Alpha Enzo wanted to be with her. She does look really nice when she smiles.” Luc said thoughtfully.
“So you should make her smile.” I nudged him.
“Is she actually interested in me? Cuz last time I went after a girl she jerked me around and then started dating the Beta.”
I giggled. “Luc I didn’t jerk you around!”
“Sure you didn’t, babe. It’s always the innocent ones you gotta watch out for.”
“Let me go find out if Mira would be interested.”
I walked slower so I could match Mira’s pace. “Hey there.” I smiled.
“Hi Celine.” She muttered. “What were you talking to Luc about?”
“Honestly? You.”
She looked at me. “Really? What were you saying?”
“Luc thinks you’re really pretty. He was also happy to hear that you and Enzo had broken up.” I informed her.
“Why?”
“Because he likes you.”
“So why doesn’t he tell me that?” Mira asked.
“Because he doesn’t want to tell you if you don’t feel the same way.” I replied.
“I thought he liked you.”
“He doesn’t.”
“Luc is really hot. And the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.” She smiled slowly.
Everyone was saying that, so it must be true.
“I think you should walk with him.” I urged. “Show Enzo you don’t need him.”
Mira glanced back at Enzo. “Yeah, maybe you’re right. Enzo thinks he’s so amazing, but he’s really not. I can do much better than him.”
“Well what are you waiting for? Go get him!”
“Thanks Celine.” She winked before walking over to Luc.
I sighed happily as I watched them talk. I was pretty good at this cupid thing! Maybe that’s what I should have been instead. I could make anyone fall in love.
My eyes fell on Grey. He smiled at me and motioned me over.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Just wanted to be next to you,” He shrugged. “How are you?”
“Feeling better, honestly. I think I’m making Mira happy again. Look at her and Luc.”
“They do seem pretty cozy. Celine, why are you always helping everyone but yourself?”
“What do you mean?”
“You said you wanted love and instead you’re finding it for other people. What about you?”
I couldn’t very well tell him that I was already in love. It would break his heart and it was too soon.
“Helping other people is easier.” I admitted.
“But then you leave yourself with nothing, babe.” Grey rubbed my back. “You deserve love too.”
“I know I do.”
“So let me give it to you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Celine…I think I'm in love with you.”
