“I’m so confused.” I whispered. “Where is everyone Celine?” Pierce questioned. “I don’t know, they were just here! Maybe something happened to them.” I looked around desperately. “Did The Depraved Fiend get to them or something?” Enzo asked. “It’s possible, I guess.” I just didn’t understand how minutes ago I could have been in this castle with Sela and the others and now it was empty. Something wasn’t right. I heard a noise from down the hall. “It’s them! They are here!” Relief spread through me as I ran to the study. We would find a way to bring Sela out of her true form. We would defeat The Depraved Fiend and then I could help Enzo defeat Rafe. Everything would work out. “Sela?” I asked. The door closed. “Hello Celine.” I turned and saw Rafe. “What are you doing here?” “I’m here for you, beautiful.” “What have you done to Sela?” I demanded. “You’ll see.” “Enzo!” I screamed. “Celine?!” He was banging on the door furiously. I tried to run to the door, but someone grabbed me from behind. “I told you we would be seeing each other, soon sweetheart.” Rekz’s harsh voice said in my ear. I felt him put some kind of restrictions on my wrists. I couldn't move my arms from behind me at all. “Take her.” Rafe grinned. “No! Enzo! Please help me!” I shouted. “Celine, I’m coming!” He cried out. Rafe stepped aside and Rekz blew the door open with fire. Enzo was on the ground, practically wheezing. I was trying to get out of Rekz’s grip, but he was much too strong for me. I tried to squirm to reach his head. “Not this time, sweetheart.” Rekz pulled me away from Enzo. “Celine!” Enzo said hoarsely. “Enzo get up!” I urged. “I need you!” Rafe stood over Enzo and grinned down at him. “It’s beginning brother. The start of your misery and pain. You will suffer as I did all those years you kept my mother from me.” “Don’t take her,” Enzo coughed. “Take me, please.” “Begging already? Oh this is going to be more satisfying than I ever thought it would be.” Rafe laughed. “Let’s go, Rekz.” “No!” I cried. “Enzo save me please!” Rafe pulled Enzo up by his shirt before punching him so hard he was knocked out. Rekz dragged me down the hall away from Enzo’s motionless body. I was doing all I could to fight him, but I think he had me. I wasn’t getting away this time. But I wouldn’t go down without a fight. I threw my head back into Rekz’s nose. He cried out and loosened his grip, letting me run away. He caught up to me easily. “Knock her out.” Rafe commanded. “No wait-” Darkness quickly took over me. *** When I woke up I was in a comfortable bed. I looked around the room I was in and it was beautiful. It had black walls with gold trimming. The gold furniture was beautiful. It reminded me of The Cosmic Sanctum. I went to the door, but it was locked from the outside. Where on earth was I? And how would I get back to Enzo? The door opened and Rafe walked in. “You’re awake.” He smiled. “Let me go!” I begged. “Please, Rafe.” “See, I can’t do that, Celine. I need you.” “I will never fall in love with you. Enzo is going to come for me!” “I know. And by the time he does…well…you and I will be deeply in love.” “We won’t.” I said firmly. “You said I wouldn’t take you and look at you now. You’re not always right, Celine.” “How did you find us?” Rafe smirked. “Someone told us exactly where you would be. Enzo has a spy in his ranks and he has no idea.” Enzo’s POV When I opened my eyes, I had no idea where I was. It was a small dark room with a bed. As my memory came back to me, I shot up. Celine. Rafe took her from me! I exited the room and ran until I found Pierce. “Where are we?” I asked. “We’re in hiding. We were in no way prepared for that ambush.” Pierce sighed. “They took Celine.” “I know, I watched him do it. We have to get her back! Who knows what he’s doing to her?” “I understand, Alpha Enzo, but we need to regroup. We need to find out where she even is. Do you know where The Grim Hound’s Packhouse is?” “I do. We need to leave now.” I stated. “Alpha Enzo, we need rest. We had been walking for so long even before the attack. If we hope to stop your brother and save Celine, we need to be at our best. He said his intentions for her were to marry her. He wouldn’t hurt her, right?” “I don’t know! I don’t know what’s going on in his demented, twisted head Pierce.” “Just give us a day, Alpha Enzo. We need our energy and to be in our right minds. We will get Celine back.” “What about Sela?” I asked. “What happened to her?” “I believe Alpha Rafe has her. He got there before we did, so he must have had her taken to the packhouse also.” Pierce frowned. “We will save both of the women.” “We better. I need Celine back.” *** “Alpha Enzo?” Grey whispered. “Yes, Grey?” “We’re going to get Celine back right?” “We have to. I cannot live without her. I need Celine.” I said. Grey sighed. “You really love her?” “I do, Grey. I tried to tell you. I’m deeply in love with her. She’s my soulmate.” He nodded. “I believe you now. We need to work together to get her back.” “Yeah we do…I just can’t stop thinking of something.” “What?” Grey questioned. “How did Rafe find us?” I breathed. “He shouldn’t have gotten there before us. How did he know” “He’s working with The Depraved Fiend who knew exactly where Sela was. It actually makes sense.” “I didn’t even think of that.” I muttered. “I just can’t even think straight right now, I need to be with her.” “We’re going to get her back, Enzo. If it’s the last thing we do.” “Not only are we getting Celine back, but I’m going to kill Rafe for what he’s done.”
