Chapter 8: Limousine

Lander
A group of pigeons is what flew to the sky the moment I made it to their assembly. Their wings flap synchronously, matching the noise that my feet are making currently.
The atmosphere of early morning is cold like there was ice placed in front of the working fan. Well, this is the best ambiance to do my early morning routine. At the moment, you could see me hitting the sidewalk doing jogging.
“Hey, Land!”
From having my eyes looking straight to where I am going, I turned to my right the moment I heard someone speak my name there. Smiling while exposing her white and uniform teeth, what I saw is the same lady who always joins me jogging these past days. That is, even if I tell her not to.
From the lady, I returned my eyes to the front. I replied, “You are here again. I had my hood put on. Don’t you understand that I wanted privacy when I did that?”
Still matching my speed, the lady chuckled. She then replied, “You really a stern man, Lander. You should know that the more you did that the more I am being attracted to you. Felicity Benois is attracted to Lander Delickr!”
I rolled my eyes hearing that. I made no response and just continue jogging. Of course, the lady is giggling as she also followed me.
Ladies and gentlemen, this lady is Felicity Benois. At first, I didn’t have any intention of knowing this lady. Like never. But because she always tell me her name whenever we were together doing this routine of jogging, now, it is tattooed in my head. I think, even in my dreams it always haunting me. Felicity Benois.
But funny it is, aside from her name she didn’t tell me any more about herself. I didn’t care researching about her also because what’s the reason of doing so? I am not interested in her in the first place.
“Hey, Land,” once again the lady spoke. She seemed couldn’t stand my silence that’s why she took the initiative into speaking again.
“Oh?” I replied. My tone implied annoyance. When would she stay away from me?
“It is my birthday next week,” she said. “I want to invite you if you could come.”
From having my sight at my front, I turned to her upon noting the shyness in her tone. I stared at her with confusion.
Really, Felicity? After all the disturbance you had caused to me, now you will become shy? Did you know that it is the first time you did that? And I tell you, it is not cute. Why become shy all of a sudden?
I answered her, “Felicity, you already knew my answer to that request of yours.”
Quickly upon hearing it, the lady gave me a saddened expression. Probably she quickly get what I meant.
But even though I have hurt her feelings, nevertheless the girl chose to stay with me. In my typical route of jogging, she still followed me. None of us spoke any word after I put her hopes down. I have cleared my end that I am not interested in her, and she understood the silence. Probably she is dealing with the ache she felt inside at the moment.
Our wordless jogging continued until I heard something. From having my sight in front, I quickly turned to my back when I heard a big thump. When I turned to my back, I saw Felicity already on the ground. Seeing that pitiful sight of her, I quickly turned around and approach her.
“Hey, what happened?” I asked upon I made it to her.
Eyes wet by tears, she faced me. She then gave me a quick smile. With a slightly shaking tone, she replied, “T-this is n-nothing, Land. M-my attention just went to s-somewhere else and I did not see where I am stepping my feet t-to.”
Felicity tried her very best to stand up the fastest way she could but only got failed. And since I saw that coming, I was so quick to catch her in order for her not to fall again. She got surprised by what I did.
“You are not right, Lady,” I said.
And since I find myself obliged to assist the lady, I decided to carry her in my arms. Because I am familiar with the place where we are, I know exactly where to bring her.
“Thank you, Land,” said by Felicity upon she was given the appropriate first aid she needed to her injury.
Maybe because I had hurt her feelings, she had her thoughts going somewhere far. Because of that, her focus was struggling to be in at the moment. And when she did that advancement in a depressed platform, she lost her balance and fell. That’s when I heard that big thump.
But even though the nurse had told me that the lady would just recover in no time, I still needed further confirmation if this lady would not suffer anymore on a later basis regarding what happened to her…
“Who is he?” in a confused tone Felicity asked me when she concluded that I knew the man who just approached us.
I replied, “Felicity, he is Steve Barsent. He is the doctor of our family. Even though he is just forty, his medical background is already fascinating. For sure he could help you furthermore with what happened to you.”
Upon hearing it, the eyebrows of Felicity meet with each other. She then spoke in a wondering tone, “But I’d already been assisted by the nurse. And I am convinced with everything she said and done to me. You don’t need to do this additional effort of calling your family doctor.”
But even though I also wanted to end this encounter, I still pushed what I wanted. And because of that, Felicity had been given another medical attention. And to my relief, the family doctor told me that there’s nothing to worry about with the lady. It will just take overnight and her right foot would be back to normal.
Tomorrow she could do jogging again.
“So where are you living?” I ask the lady the moment the consultation ended.
From facing the leaving doctor, Felicity turned me and gave me a confused look. It didn’t take long she gave me a smile before deciding to speak.
“No, Land, you already did a lot of things to help me already. I can handle myself from hereon. I think you should be preparing for your office already. You can now go first.”
But since I am a hard-headed individual that will push what he wanted, in the end, I convinced her that I should be sending her home. But what I think I did things right, to my wonder the lady told me to stop the car in the middle of the highway.
She slipped outside my sedan and a limousine is what approached her. The driver went outside to assist Felicity. Before finally going outside, Felicity thanked me and gave me a flying kiss. The limousine left and I was so confused with what exactly happened.
Is that Felicity lady a wealthy individual? Like, very wealthy?
