Gasping, Alexis reached through the pitch darkness and turned on the lamp beside her bed.
Grant stared at her with his lips pursed as if he were in mid-kiss.
“Grant?” she screamed, pulling the cover over her nightgown. “What the hell are you doing?” She opened the drawer of the end table.
“Looking for this?” He pulled her g*n from behind his back.
Alexis shrunk back, struggling not to scream. “Give me my gun.”
“No.”
“Give me my g*n, Grant!”
“For you to use it on me?” He smiled. “I have an offer for you.”
“I don’t care what the hell you have. Get out of my house.”
