“Detective Adams.” Kevin’s secretary greeted Alexis outside Kevin’s office. “Mr. Reed’s in a meeting—”
“I don’t give a fuck.” Alexis barged through the door.
Kevin stood in front of his desk while a male and female executive took notes with their Ipads.
“Lexi?” Kevin set his pencil on the desk and headed toward her.
“Stay right there,” she ordered. “Get out,” she told the executives. “Get out!”
They gathered their briefcases and ran out the office.
“What the hell is going on, Lexi?”
She slapped him, yet his neat hair remained in place. “You lying sack of shit.”
He touched the red spot on his cheek. “I was hoping you’d calmed down since the fight at your place.” His face twisted into a penetrating scowl. “I guess not.”
