CHAPTER SIXTEEN “Ladies?” Kevin walked into the interrogation room with his turquoise, T-shirt embracing his muscular pecs. “Kevin.” A shaky smile covered Penelope’s lips. Alexis dropped her gaze to the table, her heart breaking just seeing him. “Let me guess.” He sat at the table across from the women. “Is this about Gari?” Alexis swallowed, searching for the nerve to face him. “Yes,” Penelope answered. “It is.” Kevin set down his keys and rubbed his goatee. “You found out I was at her place the day she was killed, didn’t you?” Every bone in Alexis’ body shook. It wasn’t what he said but how he said it. As if, it wasn’t even a big deal. Alexis caressed her knuckles. “Saw surveillance footage from that hardware store by her house. You were there from two fifteen to two forty-one.”
