CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE
“Come in.” Grant sniffed Alexis as she entered his front door. “I can’t get enough of that perfume.”
He shut the door, the sound echoing throughout the entrance hall.
For the first time, she’d be alone with him and it made every hair on her body rise.
“How about some drinks?”
She followed him to the living room, jumping out her skin.
Grant turned on the overhead light. “What would you like?” He opened the liquor cabinet. “How about some brandy?” He got the bottle. “I love brandy.”
“No thanks.” Alexis cased the surroundings, staying on guard.
“We’ll finish the night right.” Grant approached with two, square glasses. “Drink up.”
