The Deal

James's POV

After Chloe finished signing the contract, I waited a little longer to see what the doctor says as I gave her company because to me, she seemed a little nervous and the only one Little Kitty had.When I asked about her family, she broke down and cried telling me how her parents died in an accident.After that she became silent and started cracking her knuckles.

“She is going to be okay, just be a little patient.You will see”I said trying to offer her some comfort.

“Thanks”She said letting out a small smile and then getting back to work with her fingers.

An hour later, the doctor came out of the operating room saying the operation was a success and before I knew it, Chloe had wrapped me in a tight hug.She was happy and so was I for the little girl.When she realized what she had done, she pulled away looking down.

“Sorry, I got too excited”

“It's okay. I understand ”I said then turned to the doctor.“So can she go in and see her?”

“Of course she can though the patient needs alot of rest at the moment but all is well now.

You came right on time Mr.Mclain”

“Thanks Doctor”Said Chloe and I in Unison.The doctor nodded her head before excusing herself.

“Go ahead and meet her”I said

“No, you saved her so you get to come with me”She replied and I didn't object.

We both entered to see how Chloe's sister was doing. Soon, there was a knock at the door and Rose one of our trusted employees was here.

“I'm so sorry Mr.Mclain for the delay”She said as soon as she laid her eyes on me.

Chloe looked at me then back at Rose in confusion.

“ This is Rose your caretaker from now. If you need anything just let her know” I said

“ But I don't need a caretaker.I'll take care of myself just fine”She said I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her.

“From now on, some things are going to change for you know the reason why and I don't need you to argue with me over this”I said

She didn't not look satisfied and it seemed like she wanted to say something but decided to nod her head in understanding.

“I will be back in the evening”I said and left to finish the pending work at the office.

Chloe's POV

I waited for kitty to wake up together with the care taker that Mr.Mclain had left behind for me.I didn't know what to say to her and she kept silent as well.Three hours later, Kitty opened her eyes and I couldn't help but give her a hug.She had finally made it. She Immediately asked for water and before I could get it for her, Rose was already standing there with a glass.

“Hello Kitty, I'm glad you made it.Congratulations”Rose said smiling down at my sister.She helped her sit properly and helped her drink.

“Rose, I can do some things for myself”I said

“I'm just doing my job here young lady”She replied and before I could argue further, food, flowers and kitty's favorite toys were delivered.The smile on her face told me that maybe I had made the right decision though the treatment was a little too much.

I saw Kitty looking around past Rose and I as her face turned serious.

“Are you looking for something?”I asked her

“Where is he?”she asked

“Where is who?”I asked confused

“My Mr.Knight. He said he would be here when I wake up with flowers and these toys”She said

I had no idea he had met and bonded with Mr.Mclain so easily to the extent of calling him her knight.

“He went to finish some pending work so he asked me to give them to you. But he will be back soon”Rose answered and Kitty nodded in understanding.

After she was done eating, we started chatting, her telling me how lucky she was not going to eat those boring meals again.Since she got ill, she had been eating vegetables and other healthy foods for her heart but she didn't like them at all.We started making plans of all things she wanted to do and I didn't want to deny her anything unless it turned out to be risky.

As time went by, Mr.Mclain came back and Kitty was so happy to see him.I looked at how they interacted and I was awestruck.This guy really liked children.We were to stay at the hospital a few more days as doctors continued to monitor Kitty.Mr.Mclain always passed by before and after work.He and my sister were getting along just fine.Rose did everything for us those days leaving me there to sit and watch over my sister.

Before we knew it, it was time to leave the hospital.

On our way to the place Mr.mclain had prepared for us, I asked him to drop me at the brothel such that I could return their money.He looked at me like he had seen a ghost and his face turned pale.

“Do you mean to say that you have been working at the brothel?”he asked with disgust written all over his face.

“No, I have never worked there but since I was out of time and needed the money for the operation, I made the deal with them that I was to work there once my sister was out of danger but good enough you came to my rescue and now I want to return the money”

Mr McLain was silent for sometime before he finally spoke.

“Let's first get you home.I will come with you later to return the money”

I didn't argue with the billionaire so we headed home.

Mr.Mclain had a cabin prepared for us.It was a few kilometres away from the city.It was a fancy house with everything I have ever dreamt about and a pool at the backyard.It reminded me of a home we had while my parents were still around.

“Wow, this place is so cute”I said out loud after taking a tour around the house. The bedroom that I was given looked like the entire apartment that we had been renting. At some point, I couldn't believe my eyes. I tried to pinch myself make sure that I wasn't dreaming. Kitty had her own bedroom as well.She was the happiest kid at the moment cuz her bedroom had everything she had dreamed about.

After settling in, I asked Mr McClain to come with me to the brothel.

Once we reached the brothel, the weird receptionist didn't even notice me but rather the guy that I had come with.Drooling over him and eye f****** him. Maybe she thought he was one of the clients.

“You are welcome sir, let me show you to the VIP room” she said

Mr McClain ignored her then looked back at me.

“Where's the guy, we don't have much time”he asked

The lady then shot daggers at me and if they were real, I would be dead in no time.

“Excuse me, I'd like to talk to Mr Felix please” I said

She picked up her phone and made a call and soon Felix was out.

“Finally, I'm glad you kept your word baby doll.You are here just in time. Come on, I'll show you to your first clients”he said with a smile before looking at the guy behind me.

“Hello there mister, you can come in. The girls are ready to entertain you in there”he said to Mr McClain

“No thanks, I came with this lady right here”

Felix then looked back at me unsure of what was going on.

“Felix, I'm so grateful for what you did but unfortunately, I never used the money and I have come to return it so I won't be working here” I said bringing out the bag of cash and right at that moment Felix's face got ugly.

“You've got to be kidding me. We made the deal remember? I don't need that money.I need your services because I had even already booked you for my big clients” he said.

“I assume you have heard quite clearly. She brought back your money and she is not working here” Mr McClain said throwing the bag in front of Felix.

“What are you, her body guard?”he asked the billionaire.

“I'm where need be” he replied then held my hand and said “let's go”

“Woman this is not over. We are not done. Do you hear me?” I heard Felix yell but Mr McClain didn't give me a chance to look back as he pulled me towards the car and drove me back to the cabin.
