#11. Berserker

“That guy aura is weird and I can tell he’s dangerous. He must be the one causing this commotion” Ken said

“Not sure if we’ll be able to put up a fight but…. I can’t just stand here and watch him have his way any longer” Rex said clenching his fist.

“Uh…. He’s moving” Ken said.

“He’s going to where those knights are. I wonder what he’s up to” Rex added.

“Well at least the knights will know who’s responsible for all this” Ken said.

The mysterious person stopped directly above the knights and stretched his right hand, then something like a seed dropped from his index finger and landed on the head of one of the knights.

Suddenly the knight went out of control and used his sword to strike the knight by his side on the neck killing him on the spot.

“Hey what are you doing? Snap our of it” the other knight said stepping backwards.

“What an eyesore. Don’t you know it’s an honor to be killed by me” He said approaching him.

“What!”

Then the possessed knight threw his sword at the other but missed as Ken saved him on time.

Then Rex gave the possessed knight a hard punch knocking him out

“Are you okay? Ken asked the knight.

“Yeah but….” He answered looking at his dead companion.

“Thanks for your help. I’ll take him to the cathedral and report what happened” He said getting up.

“Also get reinforcement so we can take that guy out” Rex said.

“Take who out exactly?” The knight asked confused.

“That guy up there of course. The one making the people go berserk” Rex answered.

“Up there? But no one is there” He said even more confused.

“Uh! So you’re saying you’re not seeing someone floating above us?” Rex exclaimed.

“No…. I don’t” He said looking around.

“What’s going on” Ken said to himself.

“Anyway I’ll be heading to the cathedral” He left carrying the unconscious knight.

“What was that all about? What did he mean he can’t see him” Rex muttered.

“What are we going to do about him?” Ken said looking at where the mysterious person is but didn’t see him.

“Uh! He disappeared.” They both said surprised.

“He was there a second ago” Rex said.

“Judging by the way you two reacted…. That means you really are able to see me” He said standing behind them.

Ken and Rex turned back to see a brawny man about two hundred and eighty centimeters tall with the facial features of a beast: sharp pointed teeth, the mane of a lion, the eyes similar to that of a snake, sharp claws and two big swords equipped on his back.

Ken and Rex moved away from him.

“Who are you?” Rex asked staying on guard.

“I’ll ask the questions here” He said intimidatingly.

“So…. How are you two able to see me?”

“What do you mean by how can we see…. That’s right that knight couldn’t see him” Ken said.

“Oh. You mean this guy” The beast said showing them the head of the knights and tossed it on the floor.

“He’s…. Dead….” Rex muttered.

“He killed him? When? He wasn’t here until a second ago” Ken thought.

“What is the need for all this you f*****g monster” Rex yelled going red.

“Watch your tongue vermin, that’s not how to speak to a king?” The beast said getting pissed.

“King? Don’t make me laugh you freaky sadist” Ken said drawing out his sword.

“This beast is even worse than Tristan, what are we going to do…. He’s extremely fast and only us can see him” Ken thought.

“I’ll blow you to smithereens” Rex said as he engulfed himself with flames.

“What heat” Ken said amazed.

Then Rex shot the massively huge and hot flames at the beast.

The heat and destructive power of the flames even caused more damage than the possessed mage earlier.

“Are you kidding me…. He evaporated the river” Ken said astonished.

“That blast was a big one. Even if it didn’t take him out, it should at least have effect on him” Rex said panting for using too much mana at once.

“Not bad but…. I wouldn’t even call that a warm up” The beast said then suddenly charged at Rex with full speed and gave him a punch.

The force of it was so much that it sent Rex flying over ten meters.

“Rex!” Ken exclaimed.

“I’m impressed. You still manage to block my attack at point blank range, too bad you ended up with a dislocated arm” He said smirking.

“Hey are you okay!” Ken asked as he rushed to Ken.

“That guy is bad news. He’s too much for us to handle” Rex said holding his dislocated left arm.

“Rex’s right but how are we going to escape from that monster”

“Come to think of it, you two haven’t answer my question…. How are you able to see me?”

“That’s what we like to know” Ken snapped.

“You guys aren’t normal humans are you?”

“What are you talking about now?” Ken asked confused.

“I mean only someone with high spiritual pressure should be able to see or sense me but you two can and I don’t see any sign of that in you” He said perplexed.

“What….”

“And you two smell funny” He added.

“Smell? Spiritual pressure?.... What a weirdo. How long are you going to keep sprouting nonsense, beast”

“You two are dangerous. I should eliminate you before you cause problems for us in the future” He said humorless.

“Aren’t you talking about yourself here” Rex said.

“Us? So there’s more of you” Ken said staying on guard.

“Oh yeah, I came here for something” He said remembering.

“For something like what?”

“Sirus” He answered

“Sirus? A star?” Ken asked confused.

“Oh you’re knowledgeable about it. Good! That saves time. So where is she?”

“She? isn’t it in space…. I mean that’s where stars and other celestial bodies are” Ken said pointing it out.

“Even an i***t knows that. Some beast you are” Rex said irritated.

“Don’t f**k with me you foolish insects” He said stomping his feet on the ground causing an earthquake felt throughout the city.

“An earthquake?” Charlotte said looking out the window from the cathedral.

“What on earth is going to happen” She thought.

“Did you run into Rex on your way?”

“Yeah he’s with Ken” Silver answered.

“I hope they’re okay” Charlotte said troubled.

“Don’t worry it will be fine, it’s those two we’re talking about after all” Silver said optimistically.

“Yeah you’re right”

“Oh yeah. Is the Master or Knight commander around?” Silver asked.

“No they’re both out: Master and the commander is out on a meeting with the other branches.

“Eh!” She exclaimed.

“That’s the situation” Charlotte said forcing a smile.

“Go to the vice knight commander, he’s in the underground floor” She added.

“No need for that” Said a blonde man in shinning silver armor.

“Vice Commander”

“How are the injured?” He asked.

“They ones with minor injuries are okay, those with fatal injuries are being attended to” Charlotte answered.

“Good. So what is it you want to tell me?” He asked looking at Silver.

“It’s about what’s going on. Though it’s not much but it’ll be helpful” Silver said.

“Okay…. Let’s here it.” Then Silver told him what they know.

“I see that explains it”

“That’s impressive. I wonder how she got this info” He thought.

“Is Chris here?” He asked looking around.

“No he’s not”

“Tch…. What do we do? We can’t just leave here were they’re injured citizens that should be treated. So we need to stay here and guard this place in case….” He said deep in thought.

“Rex is almost out of mana and his left arm is broken. Do I really have a chance against this monster” Ken thought.

“No I can do this. He can’t change his body matter like Tristan so I should be able to damage him” Ken said to himself.

The beast charged at Ken but he moved in between his feet to avoid it and tried to use his sword to strike but the beast avoided it.

“You’re a fast one but….” The beast said then punched the ground shattering the earth there making rocks scatter everywhere and directed some at Ken.

But Ken easily avoided them using the scattered rocks as stepping Stones then covered himself and his sword in lightning making him faster than before then started moving circles around the beast.

“He’s faster than before” The beast said staying on guard.

“Here he comes”

Ken charged at him with full speed almost looking as if he teleported and used his sword to s***h him in the gut.

“Lightning blade!”

“I got him. Alright I can do this” He said optimistically.

“Man that’s was quite the strike” He said stretching as if nothing happened.

“That was a direct contact, how are you still standing? You should be seriously wounded” Rex said getting up.

“Oh…. You mean this wound” He said pointing at where Ken slashed only for them to see no sign of the attack there.

“He…. Can heal himself” Ken said surprised.

“So that’s why Rex flames earlier didn’t affect him”

“You’ve seen how hopeless the situation you’re in is. No matter what you do I’ll just regenerate” He said grinning.

“To be honest I didn’t think you will last this long so I’ll at least tell you this”

“I'm berserker and I’m here for the starry fragment”

“Uh!”

“If you do I’ll reward you with a painless death”

“Have no clue what you’re talking about” Ken said pointing his sword at him.

“I see…. That’s too bad” Then he swiftly appeared in front of Ken to land him a punch but Ken dodged it.

“The force of just that punch took out about five buildings. What monstrous strength” Rex said to himself.

Then Ken covered his sword with lightning and threw it targeting berserker but he dodged it.

Unknowingly to him that the sword returned and stab him in his back.

“You implanted your lightning based mana in it to move it freely, not bad. Consider this an honor to receive such praise from me” He said trying to remove the sword.

“Shut up” Ken said as he moved the sword upward slashing his back fatally then Rex came from above and gave him a hard punch to the ground then held his head and release huge amount of fire in his face and kicked him hard which made him hit the ground hard and caused an explosion.

“That should have some effect” Rex said.

“This is the best! I haven’t fight like this in a long time…. I feel like something is about to awaken.

“This is the best!” He said as he charged at them.

“Tch. No effect at all” Rex muttered.

Then he went behind Ken to attack but Ken swiftly used his sword to cut berserker arm off to avoid getting punch.

Then all of a sudden in an instant his arm grew back and try to punch Ken again but he narrowly avoided it and moved backwards giving room for Rex.

“What can you do with a broken arm you insect” He said as he tried to land a blow on him but Rex jumped high to give berserker a dropkick.

Then berserker swiftly took out one of his big swords and throw it directly at Rex.

“It’s over” Berserker said grinning.
