A cup of tea.

Sunlight was coming through the lovely curtains in a warm orange color. The bed was so soft, friendly, and comfy... Just five more minutes. Wait! What? Amelia sat on the bed and felt dizzy from a sudden movement. She embraced her head, trying to regain her composure. ~Where was she? Why was she in bed? What was this place? ~ Many questions popped into her mind, as she was baffled. - Calm down, Little Dove, take some deep breaths. Everything is OK. You are safe. We are at Alice's house.- Shadow said calmly, breaking the train of the girl's thoughts. Alice? The memories from the previous day started flowing through Amelia's mind. The woman from the forest, Alice, saved them and offered them help. They traveled to her place, but she couldn't remember anything else. How did she get into this room? And who changed her clothes into pajamas? ~Take it slow, Amelia. You have slept for twenty-four hours. ~Shadow warned her. - Twenty-four hours?? How is it even possible? - The girl blinked a few times, startled by the information. ~Uh, you were exhausted? You passed out in front of Alice's house. How are you now? ~ Her wolf asked with concern. -I feel much better, thank you. - Amelia mumbled. Her head was still heavy after all that sleep, but she felt incredibly refreshed. Amelia looked around the room she was sleeping in. The walls were cream, and there was a wardrobe, a small table with chairs, and a big waze with fresh flowers. Their scent lingered in the air. Next to the bed was a little table with a cute pink night lamp. The whole room was nice and cozy. Amelia spotted a piece of paper lying on the bedside table with her name written on it. It was a short note from Alice: " Take a good rest while I am gone. I will be back soon. Please feel free to do whatever you want. " Alice - She has nice handwriting.- Amelia said after reading a note a few times. Then she noticed a set of clothes lying on her bed. It was a T-shirt and sweatpants, and a new pair of underwear. Amelia quickly dressed and decided to look at Alice's home. ~ Don't be nosy! ~ Shadow said to her. - I am not! This room is so sweet, and I am just curious about the rest. - Amelia replied, waving her hand. She left the room and saw a little hall with three doors. At the end was the entrance to the small kitchen. Next to the kitchen was a lovely living room with a big bookshelf and some paintings on the walls, which were painted in soft blue, and the windows had beautiful pink curtains. It was clear that the owner was a woman. But it was cute, just cute. Amelia remembered her room in the pack. A dark room with no windows. She hated it, and she hated being in the darkness. At least she had a mattress on the floor and an old blanket to cover her at night. Probably that was why she was now devouring Alice's home with her eyes. - You should eat something.- Shadow said that to the girl. Amelia immediately felt hunger, and her stomach rumbled loudly. She scanned the kitchen, searching for food. Amelia almost clapped her hands when she noticed there were sandwiches on the table. - In a minute. - Amelia said, but then her stomach made some more loud grumbling, reminding her that it was empty. She entered the kitchen, where on the table was a plate with sandwiches and a glass of orange juice. -Strawberry jam!!- Amelia chirped. She loved strawberries and often ate them as a child when Luna Tania was with her. Those sandwiches were like a feast for her. She was eating them slowly, enjoying every bite. After she finished, she decided to sit in the living room and wait for Alice. After an hour, she saw a woman returning from the forest with a basket in her hands. Amelia sprinted to greet her at the entrance. -Oh, you woke up!! -Alice was more than happy to see the girl awaken. She did not want to think about the sounds of crying and screams she heard at night. It was loud enough to wake her, so she checked on her. But Amelia was sleeping, obviously having nightmares. Alice held her hand until she calmed down and fell into a deep sleep again. -Poor thing, no peace even in her dreams.- She thought to herself. But now Amelia was looking much better. - How do you feel? - Alice asked her with concern in her voice. - Thank you for letting me sleep in this lovely room. I can't remember the last time I had such a good sleep. - Amelia gave her a big smile. - Except screaming...- Alice thought to herself, but only said - I am happy to help. Did you enjoy your breakfast? - Yes, it was lovely, thank you. I love strawberry jam.- The girl was grinning like a child. - Later you will have a proper meal, give me some time. Right now, I need to take care of the herbs I just picked. - Alice said with a smile. Amelia looked at the basket, and, indeed, it was full of some leaves and some plants. She had no idea what they were. - After I finish, we can have a cup of tea together, and maybe you will tell me your story.- The woman offered. - Yes, sure.- Amelia said, but Alice noticed the sadness in her eyes. Two hours later, both women were sitting on the kitchen stools with enormous cups of tea and a plate full of biscuits in front of them. -So, are you ready to tell me why I found you in the forest, surrounded by those men? If you don't want to, there is no rush, and I can wait. - Alice seemed to be very understanding. ~ Tell her. There is nothing you have to be ashamed of. ~Shadow supported her. - Well, there is not much to say. .. Amelia was unsure what to tell her. - They were ready to kill you! - Alice spoke loudly, making Amelia jump on her seat. There must be a story behind it. But as I said, I will not force you to tell me everything now. - Alice added, taking her emotions under control.-We can talk if you trust me more to open up... Let's drink our tea till it is hot. Chamomile tea, drink it. It will help you calm down. Amelia took a sip of her tea and looked into Alice's eyes. - I killed my Luna. Alice was not sure if she did not hear things. She did what?? That fragile girl killed someone? - Excuse me, can you repeat it? - She asked, confused by this sudden statement. - My Luna is dead because of me. - Amelia retorted, staring at her cup. Alice was looking at her, not understanding one single word. So she killed her? Or did Luna die because of her? These were two different things for her. - Please, Amelia, tell me the whole story from the beginning because I want to understand what put you in the situation where I found you.- Alice encouraged the girl. - Sorry, it isn't straightforward, but I will do my best.- Amelia took a deep breath and decided to tell a story to Alice. She just hoped Alice wouldn't hate her after that, just like everyone in the pack.
