Enemies strike back!

- You need to clean yourself, Amelia. It has been a while since you had a bath, not counting the rain from the last storm.- Shadow said in her mind, pretending to sniff. Amelia tried not to roll her eyes at her wolf, but Shadow had a point here. The girl was stinking, and her clothes needed washing right now. They decided to travel mainly in the wolf form for now, so Shadow was clean, taking any chances to jump into the rivers or ponds they were passing. But right now, the truth was clear, the human body needs a bath from time to time, and for Amelia, the time came now. - There is a small river near us. I can clean myself there. We will need time for my clothes to dry, and then we will speed up to the North. I still have that terrible feeling that something is not right, but I cannot say what. -Then you need to hurry. I can sense your stress. We should leave this territory soon. The sooner, the better.- Shadow was also on high alert. Since they left the Black Moon, everything was going well, and maybe it was too good. Perhaps that was a problem. It was too good to be true, and Shadow just wanted Amelia to be safe. When Amelia was a little child, Luna told her stories about the pack in the North, ruled by the Alpha, who was called the Alpha King, even if there was no royal blood in his veins. She told her about a lovely kingdom ruled by powerful Alpha, where everyone was happy. Beautiful times. Since they started planning on leaving the Black Moon, North was Amelia's leading destination. Stories or not, she had no other ideas, so it could be a good place to go, like any other. Any place that was away from the Black Moon Pack seemed good for her. So she was ready to go there to ask for asylum and find a place to live in the peace she deserved. Thanks to the Shadow, they could increase the distance from her pack, but it was still not enough. The overwhelming anxiety was not leaving them. In about 20 minutes, Amelia reached a river and jumped into it to get cleaned. She washed her clothes and let them dry on the nearest tree. She pulled out a new set from her backpack and tried to relax on the grass, at least for a moment. -I have a terrible feeling. Like someone is near. Take your stuff, and let's move.-Shadow was anxious, pushing Amelia to the action. Her wolf could always sense something was off. There was no point in arguing about that. The girl grabbed her stuff and was ready to leave when someone called her name. Amelia froze in her spot. Slowly, she turned around only to see the faces she hoped never to see again. Now, the girl knew that good luck was not on her side anymore. Her body shivered. She was facing Hank, the best tracker from the Black Moon, who she hated with her full power. When Alpha Samuel was tired of hurting her but unsure if it was enough for her, he usually called Hank. He was always eager to take his place. This man had some personal issues with her. After Luna's death, he was the first to support Alpa in his abusive behavior against her. Amelia was trying to keep it cool while desperately thinking about how to get out of that situation. She slowly took a step back. The man in front of her offered her a smile. It was a nasty smile. This man was up to no good. - Long time no see, Amelia. We came to take you back home. -We?-Amelia tried to sound confident while her brain was working on a plan to escape. - Oh, you haven't noticed, Tom. He is with me. We lost your track before. I have to admit you did a good job. But we decided to check on this area and look how lucky we were. You know what will happen next. Alpa Samuel is waiting. All you have to do is to come back with us like the good girl you are. Maybe then the punishment won't be that bad. - Over my dead body!!!- Amelia shouted, taking a few steps back. She balled her fists, getting ready to fight. - That can be arranged!!- said Hank with a nasty smirk. ~Get her!~ He mind-linked Tom, who stood behind the tree. -We gave you a choice, and you chose the hard way, so we will make it your way. - Hank turned his attention back to the girl. From the corner of her eyes, Amelia finally noticed Tom, who had been hiding from her sight all that time. He was getting closer, and that was not good. Not at all. - Shadow? Any ideas? Like, now? We need to get out of this. - Her wolf was quiet momentarily, and the girl, for the first time, got terrified. - Shadow, talk to me! - she called for her wolf one more time. - I am with you, Dove. Don't worry. Just give me a second. - Sorry to bother you, but we don't have spare seconds here.- Amelia replied, not taking her eyes off the men. -Out of ideas?- Tom chuckled. He was getting closer with every second. -Don't play with us. You know it is pointless. Just surrender, and I will take you where you belong. There is no need for us to hurt you now. As he said those words, Amelia saw her not-so-bright future. She has to get out of here. So, when Tom got closer, her body reacted before she could even think, and Amelia landed a kick on his stomach. It was not a powerful one, but good enough to surprise him and give her some time. - Go to hell !!!- She hissed and turned around, running away as fast as possible. - That was good.- Hank said, looking at Tom. - Shut up! I will kill that bi*ch!!- Tom was not in the mood for a joke. That kick was humiliating for him, and Tom was not taking it lightly. Hank let out a short, cold laugh. - Oh, come on! She wants to play. We can play. In this game, she is not going to win. And then you can have your revenge before we take to an Alpha. What happens in the woods stays in the woods.
