“Here’s all you need to know. Again.” Harry rolled his eyes knowing fully well that he had been asking for the updates and just never paid attention to them. “ Her dad is Nigerian I think and her mom is South Korean but she was born and raised in London.” His assistant began, summarising her auto biography while Harry scanned through it. “She’s currently 24, born 28th May, 1994 which just passed. So far, the only love interest she has had according to my source is just one. He cheated on her with her best friend and that wasn’t too long ago.” “She’s a doctor here, a freelance writer, and a hand model as well, and low key a gym rat and current internet sensation the day she was seen with you. She has a best friend of which people find extremely strange with their opposite lifestyles but as they say, opposites attracts. She lives alone, and mostly keeps to herself.” “That’s about how much info I could get on her boss.” James said. Harry was silently studying the reports in his hands, “Where are her parents?” “They’re divorced. Her mom is still in London but the dad travels around, currently in his hometown.” “It says here that she ran into some serious debt?” “She had a very serious financial issue in 2017, she was duped and got into a very serious problem with the law but she was able to clear that up with the help of her parents. If I may ask you, why are you so keen on this girl? You’re always wanting to know more about her.” “It’s nothing.” He said closing the reports in his hand and setting it aside. “What’s my schedule for today?” ~~~~ “You kicked him out?” She shrieked. “Why are you screaming like it’s a big deal,” “It is a big deal. He’s the hottest guy in the film industry right now and he can buy you if he wants to. He’s loaded, with money, more money and more and more money. How can you flop on a big bag like that when your mates are looking to secure it.” “By my mates, you mean you , right?” Lisa said non chalantly. “If you want the man; go after the man and stop drumming in my ears about him.” “You leave this sophisticated hot sensation, but rather end up with broke ass men that bring nothing to the table except their cheap selves and you think you’re being modest? If your mother was modest, would you be standing there?” “Let today, be the last time, you hear me? The very last time you speak of my family carelessly.” She hissed and walked out of the kitchen. “Okay, but Lisa you should give the guy a chance.” “You have not even spoken to him to know what he’s like.” “I don’t need to. The money speaks for him.” “That’s why you’re always in every Tom, d**k, and Harry.” “Did you see that?” She said grinning mischievously. “His name is Harry, and I wouldn’t mind to have him in me,” “Alright, that’s enough. Switch the topic or get out of my house.” “Chill out, you’re always too serious.” “Don’t you have a job to go back to Laurel?” “Hey, why do you still have Damian’s wallet?” She asked picking it up from the side stool. Lisa immediately snatched it from her hand, “I… that’s none of your business!” She said putting it into her pocket, Laurel raised a brow at her and then shrugged. “I mean, if you’re still into him I should warn you…” “That what? You’re still sleeping with him? Sometimes I wonder why on earth I keep you around.” Lisa said pouring some juice into her glass but Laurel hurriedly takes it and finishes it in one gulp. “We’re for lifers baby girl, I’ve got to hurry back to work before I have to move in here with you.” Lisa rolled her eyes, “Yes. Go away please.” “Bye Lisa, and remember, instead of sticking to men that don’t regard you, why not go after that hot cake with loads of money,” she said picking up her jacket, “at least the money would compensate for any cheating. Toodles.” She said blowing a kiss to Lisa before shutting the door behind her. “Trauma has way more grip on that girl than I ever know. Now,” locking her door and confirming twice that it was locked, she walks into her room, pulls out the key from her pocket and then opens the door of her walk in closet. Turning on the light, she stared at Damian’s body folding her arms across her chest and leaning on the door frame, “What have I gotten myself into?” She whispered underneath her breath. Earlier that day… “Hey! Come and undo…” she opened the door to find that they were both gone, and she turns around to the body laying on her floor, not knowing if he was lifeless or not. She shut the door behind her and locked it, and rushed to his side, she checked the pulse on his wrist, it was very faint, she couldn’t read it, she proceeded to pour extremely cold water on him, but he didn’t move, the water dried up immediately. She pinched him, but the marks disappeared immediately. “This punk!” Just then there was a knock on her door, banging louder and louder. “Who’s there?” She asked walking towards her door, “Laurel baby,” she heard her best friend scream with enthusiasm on the other end. She rolled her eyes and hurried to the body, pacing up and down, as the knock on the door intensified, “Lisa, open up!” An idea popped up like a light bulb came on in her brain, she pulled him by his legs into her room, and into her walk in closet and she locked the door throwing the key into her pocket. She quickly hurried out, wiping away the bead of sweat from her face, looking around her house to see if everything was quite normal before she opened the door. “What the heck have you been doing? Are you hiding something or someone from me?” She asked wiggling her brows as she searched behind the blinds and into the kitchen and into her room, while Lisa followed behind her. She tried opening up her closet door but it was locked, “Lisa?” “It’s had. The lock is bad. The locksmith says he’s going to be coming this evening,” she lied. Laurel squinted her eyes as if she was a lie detector and could read her immediately. “If you say so. There’s this very strong perfume in your house, it’s so strong and masculine and I’m already in love with it, who was here then?” “Harry.” “Harry?” “Harold Einstfield.” “He was here? Why? What for? Are you two really a thing?” “Ew. No. He came with flowers to ask me on a date with him. And I said no.” “No? Are you mad? That’s why he left?” “I kicked him out.” “You kicked him out?” Currently “How am I supposed to contact this mad man?” She said pacing up and down her room, while the door to the walk in closet was wide open, and she glanced at his body while racking her brain. She took her phone and went to his ** page. “I’m obviously going to be sitting in his requests, and I do not have the time to waste.” She said staring at his page. Thirty minutes passed and she found herself laying in bed and scrolling through his **, and liking almost every of his post, unconsciously. Especially the ones where he featured in her favourite movie. She went back to unlike all of them. She quickly dropped her phone on the bed, picked her pillow and screamed into it. “There. Feels much better.” She was on a night shift and it was getting close to the time she was supposed to be leaving her house. A notification came into her phone, from **. She clicked on it immediately to find that Harry had sent her a message. ‘Stalking my page I see?. Just say you’re obsessed with me.’ “This caveman.” She groaned, but, her wish was just granted without stress. ‘I need your help,’ she typed at first, but then deleted it, ‘i need to see you immediately!’ She hit the send button, and immediately she saw the typing notification pop up in their chats, ‘Always at your service my love. See you later.’ “Later? What later? When? Where?” She asked herself, ‘When? Where?’ There was a knock on her door, “who could that be?” She walked to her door, unlocking it to find him outside her door. “You! Didn’t I… are you… what are you…” “You needed me and I’m here.” “Wasn’t up to seconds!” “Let’s say I was in your neighbourhood. Can I come in?” He asked, she stepped aside letting him through, “So, what was the urgency for? Missed me already? I saw you stalking my page.” He said smirking, “Are you not supposed to be super busy to not have time for your social media?” “My job involves social media platforms Miss.” “Whatever. Undo it.” “Come again?” “Undo. It.” “Undo what my love,” “Stop calling me that.” “Okay honey pie,” “I said stop it!” “Yes baby,” he said with a smirk on his face, “did I steal your heart? Is that what you need me to undo? You need to understand that I have no control over anyone falling in love with me…” “Can you shut up? Undo that magic spell.” He took a sit on her couch, crossing his left leg over his right leg, taking off his shades, “Magic? Spell? When did I become a magician?” “Can you stop playing games and be serious!” “But I am serious mi amor ,” all through her mind, she imagined taking the vase beside her and breaking it on his head, “It’s not good to have violent thinking against your future husband.” “Violent thinking? I’m not having violent thoughts. I need you to undo the magic spell you casted on my ex !” She said in frustration. “That bastard is what has you so worked up?” He asked in disbelief, laughing out so hard, “I don’t see what’s funny.” “I’m sorry,” he said, choking on his laugh, “it’s just, most girls I know will want their exes dead, especially when he did them dirty, like sleeping their best friend, but you…” “That’s because you little piece of s**t, if anything happens to him I’m the one that will face the damage!” She said, her voice pitching higher, making him burst out laughing, “You’re really a feisty one yunno,” “Are you going to help or not?” He stared at her, his smile so wide, it was getting under her skin, she was itching to get violent with him, “Short girls are always violent.” The look she gave him, could kill from miles away, she was pacing up and down, rubbing her neck, scratching her head, and that was when she knew she had enough. “Get out.” She opened the door for him, “Relax.” “Get. Out.” “Relax baby girl,” “Don’t! Don’t call me that or any pet names again!” “Yes sugar bun,” She stared at him in disbelief, wondering how to get back at him for all the inconvenience he was causing her, “I’ll help you.” “I don’t need your help again.” She said. He shrugged his shoulder, putting his shades on again, and walking out the door, “I’m leaving,” he said waiting for her to stop him, to beg him, but he got none of that, the moment he was outside her door, she banged the door shut, throwing a couch pillow on the floor and screaming in frustration. The knock on the door made her scream the more. “What!” He was standing outside the door with the shades in his hand,
