Healing Sarah and Tyrene part 4

1078 Words
I don’t leave my hospital room for the whole day. The only people who have been in my room are a couple of nurses to bring me small meals throughout the day. But no one else comes by, which is what I wanted and I appreciate them giving me space to think. By the time 9:30 P.M. comes around I'm dead set on my plan. I know now is my chance to sneak out since it’s shift change time, and if I hide my scent no one will suspect a thing. So, that’s actually what I do. Getting up from my bed, I mask my scent and let the scent of the hospital get onto my skin as I pace back and forth in my room. Once I smell enough like the hospital, I leave at the end of the line of nurses ending the shifts for the night. I take a deep breath and link Kendra. “Well, it’s now or never. Are you okay with this?” I ask her. “It’s your decision but yes. I want to know as well. We can’t have a mate yet be mate-less.” Kendra links me back. Nodding, I continue to the pack house. Thankfully it’s dinner time for the pack house and the dining room is two doors down from the front door on the left side of the house. Only thing left to do is get to the third floor and confront Stephen. Heading to the stairs as quickly and quietly as I can. I'm surprised I made it to Stephen’s room without any problems. I stop at his door; Kendra's hearing stops me from opening the door. “I can’t believe we’re not mates. What am I going to tell my parents?” a female voice says from inside of Stephen’s room. “You don’t have to tell them anything. I'm going to be there for my child.” Stephen says consoling the crying girl in his room. *GASP* “Child? Our mate got some other female pregnant?” Kendra says and I can feel her heart shatter. “How? You have a mate now and if I ever find mine, he’ll never want me if I have another man’s child.” the girl continues crying. “You won’t have to worry about that. Brea and I haven’t even touched yet since realizing we’re mates. So, the mate bond is not very strong. It's as if there's a tiny thread pulling me towards her that’ll snap the second, I pull away. And that’s what I'll do. I'm going to reject Brea, right now.” Stephen says. I hear him stand, walk to the door, and open the door to me standing there with tears streaming down my face from Kendra's broken heart. “Brea?! How long have you been there?” Stephen asks wide-eyed. “Long enough to hear that you have a child on the way by someone who isn’t even your mate and that you plan to reject me for her.” I say, sounding more heartbroken than I intended to let out. “Brea, I... I can’t just abandon my child. I have a responsibility, I have to marry her, I can’t ruin her reputation.” Stephen says, looking at me sadly. “No, you want to do this. I heard you. When you thought no one was listening. You made it pretty clear that our mate bond means nothing to you. You know, this is the exact reason I hid my scent and left the hospital. I needed to know if we could love each other after you almost killed me. Before you reject me, could you be honest about one thing?” I say crossing my arms. “Of course. What do you want to know?” Stephen says sympathetically. “Did you know that you had a mate when midnight stuck last night?” I need the answer. “Umm... yes, I did. I felt some kind of pull to the hospital once midnight struck but I didn’t want to know because I figured it wouldn’t hurt to sleep with my girlfriend one last time.” Stephen said, looking at the ground. “Okay. Go ahead, reject me.” I say looking away from him, blinking away tears before having to look back to make the rejection happen. “I, Stephen Yarrow, of the Black-Briar Pack reject you, Brea Barlowe, of the Bloodmoon and Black-Briar Pack as my mate and Luna.” Stephen said heavily. “I, Brea Barlowe, of the Bloodmoon and Black-Briar Pack accept your rejection. And I reject you Stephen Yarrow, of the Black-Briar Pack as my mate and Alpha.” I say as the pain in my chest increases at the breaking of our bond. “I accept your rejection, Brea Barlowe of the Bloodmoon and Black-Briar Pack.” Stephen says and immediately grabs his chest falling to the ground. The pain of the mate bond breaking is so unbearable yet I'm trying to be strong for Kendra and myself. The girl in Stephen’s room is smirking, sitting on his bed like she just won the lottery. “I hope you know if that child is yours or not. Enjoy your life, Stephen.” I say and walk down the stairs. “Brea? What are you doing here?” Gamma Aaron asked. I look at Aaron and before I can look away and continue back to the hospital, the pain from the mate bond breaking becomes too much for Kendra to hold onto for us both. Falling to the ground writhing in pain my body begins convulsing. It feels as if I've been dunked in a vat of Wolfsbane and Jade Vine. “Brea!!” Aaron yells as he catches my head before I hit the ground. “Aaron? Oh my God!! What’s wrong with Brea?” Luna Jessica asks worriedly. “STEPHEN!!” the girl in his room screams. “Who are you and why are you in my son’s room? And what’s wrong with my son?” Luna Jessica yells as she reaches his room. “Aaron!! Stephen is burning up and convulsing. Same as Brea, what is happening????” Luna Jessica yells frantically. Alpha Liam comes running into the loft. “What’s going on here?” “Both Brea and Stephen collapsed, are burning up, and having convulsions.” Aaron tells him. “Oh my God!! He didn’t!” Alpha Liam fumed.
