CHAPTER NINE The marshes were as miserable as I remembered and the dimming light didn’t help. I kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see one of those hideous glowing lights tracking us, especially when our froggy friends led us into the marshes proper. The solid ground was replaced by a mire of mud and reeds, and the trees with their long mosses hid much of the path ahead of us. “Is there any way to keep those lamps from finding us?” I whispered. Tegan shook his head. “They can sense every disturbance just by our feet touching the ground.
