CHAPTER TEN I hurried over and dropped to my knees beside him. The stench of burned flesh invaded my nostrils and I could now see his blackened flesh. His hands shook and his face was twisted into a grimace. I looked from his smoking palms to his tense face. “Now I know you’re not alright.” He managed a shaky smile. “I’m afraid not.” Toby stretched out his long neck and inspected the wounds. “Those aren’t good.
