He was willing to milk each and every person with affiliations to Gu and wouldn't quit until he had meaningful information. He was convinced that someone in that corporation, either knows something or did something.

Stephanie was the best person to start with, Leah had not failed to keep him up to date with her work life. although they lived in different areas, Leah told him everything. He remembered their long video calls and recorded messages, discussing and revealing shocking realizations to each other. Derrick actually pushed Leah to leave Gu, he gave her the courage he yearned for, and he felt guilty.

There was one thing Leah didn't reveal to him, despite their closeness. She never told him the father of her child and he never asked. He was smart enough to know that it was her territory and not to overstep.

But he was curious to know, whenever talks of the baby arrived, Leah would either divert the topic or shun from the possibility of the question arising. He concluded that it must be the effect of a bad relationship, or a troubled bond.

Back at the orphanage, he'd tried cajoling his sister that they should escape, but she was too scared to leave. Been the daring and dangerous taker as he was, he left solo.

Leah regaled him of Stephanie's undying loyalty for one of the Gu's, Olivia Guvin. She was Tyler's twin sister and manager of one of the Gu franchise. He wasn't sure if it was in Tennessee or Oklahoma.

What struck him was the fact that Olivia was working away and still had eyes in Jacksonville head, he found it suspicious. They both ruled it as Olivia wanting to know the in's and OUT'S of Gu's biggest branch, Jacksonville head.

But presently as he thought of things, after everything that had happened, things weren't as trivial as they initially thought. He had to read deeper meaning to everything he'd overlooked in the past, like his sister's pregnancy.

Derrick scratched his neck, as another thought condemned him, it was the thought of the woman who visited Sarah earlier and her words of threat.

Sarah was in trouble already, and she hasn't been in town for long. He hoped she would stay alive just until he helped her with what he wanted. Yes, that was it, he wanted nothing more from her.

The dinner he prepared was nothing personal, although, he got his desired response. He wanted to lure her inside and emotion trap, which will cause her to open up and not hide anything from him. Since she was his only eyes inside Gu, he needed the truth and nothing short.

His instincts told him that she was someone of high caliber and power. Judging by the way she talked and the frequency she operated in, she concluded that she was the wife of the benefactor of the Gu family outreach, the Rich and powerful Leonardo Guvin.
