CHAPTER 16

Selena and Elena’s voice echoed in the whole dining room as they sang a birthday song for Sander, who is now feel overwhelmed as he removed the cover in his eyes, only to see his wife is now holding a two layer cake and now approaching him with their daughter who is now walking beside her Mom, wearing a cheeky wide smile, while waving her hands along with the tune their singing.

“Happy birthday, Daddy!” His wife and daughter said in chorus as they finished the song exactly as they got closer to him.

“Thank you! I thought you forgot.” He said, after he blows the candle in his cake, and took Elena for a carry, as their daughter motioned him, just to give him a kissed on his cheeks.

“Happy birthday Daddy! Were you surprised?!” Elena asked with jolly.

“Yep, princess. I am.” He replied before turning to Selena who is watching them happily.

Sander, held Elena in one arm, while his other arm snatched Selena’s waist to give her a peck on her lips, that made the latter gasp in surprise as she was still holding the cake.

“Hey! Your cake might tripped on my hand!” Selena said in surprise.

Sander just smiled and kissed his wife again and said. “Thank you, love.”

“Thank you both, my queen and princess!” He added turning his gaze to the two most precious women he had in his life.

Selena and Elena giggled because of Sander’s cheesiness as always. But they both love it.

“Of course we will never forgot about it, we just want to surprise you. Your daughter’s idea actually.” Selena stated.

“By the way, our princess helped me bake your cake.” Selena informed in a boast.

“Wow! You did?” He asked happily to Elena, who still in his arms.

Elena just nod, “Mom, thought me how to bake and decorate it, so I asked Mom to surprise you.”

Sander fell amazed by his daughter’s intelligence, and how she thinks.

“Thank you, princess. You and Mom’s cake is the best cake ever!” He commended.

Elena look at her Mom with full of joy. “You heard that Mommy? Daddy like it!”

Sander and Selena can’t help to chuckle by their daughter’s cheerfulness, and kissed Elena’s cheeks at the same time, that made Elena giggled.

The whole dining is filled with Elena’s giggles as Sander continue to tickle his daughter on their way to their dining table.

“By the way, love. Where is Lana and Dad? I thought he will be here.” He asked to Selena pertaining to their house maid and Mr. Vaugh as soon as he finished settling their daughter in her seat and him after.

“Dad’s flight was cancelled so he wouldn’t be able to go back today. His plane is having some technical issues,”

“and about Lana, I asked her to buy something with Rogelio. Their will be here anytime soon.” Selena replied. And as if on cue, they heard a car engine arriving.

“I think it is them.” Selena uttered, “Can you give them a hand? They might be  having a hard time carrying the thing I asked them to buy.”

“Okay.” Sander replied with a nod, and stood up to get outside to help their maid and driver.

While Selena waited for Sander to come inside again, she continued to assist Elena to her plate for her food, but halted when she heard a loud thud from the outside that made her brows knotted.

“Wait here, princess. I’ll just check Daddy.” Selena said to Elena, and the kid just nod and continued her food.

The loud thud followed again that made her hurried to the dining entrance to check what was happening only to find his husband hurriedly get his tracks towards her.

“Hide, and bring Elena!” Sander commanded with such hurry in his voice as she meet him in the entrance of the dining.

“W-Why?! What’s wrong?” She asked confused.

“Just don’t ask! Hurry!” Sander replied.

Selena don’t have any choice but to nervously nod, and hurriedly went to where their daughter is seated who is currently in the middle of eating she served.

But she was just in a half way towards where their daughter is, when their main door opened and created a loud bang, due to its forceful opening that made her halted.

“Hello! Brother!” She heard a man’s voice echoed greeted, that she immediately recognize, that made her tremble in fear, as she recall what the owner of the voice had did to her in the past.

Without thinking, she hurriedly went to her daughter, and took her without any warning, to hide their daughter under the dining table where the inside of the table is covered with the table cloth, where the nearest place she can think to hide Elena.

But before she followed Elena under the table she glance to where is Sander but, he isn’t there at the place he was standing just a while ago, that made her worried.

“Mommy?” Elena asked full of wonder.

Selena signaled her daughter to quiet, and her daughter diligently nod.

“Stay here. Don’t ever come out until I picked you up. Cover your eyes and ears for me okay?” She commanded to her daughter in a whisper enough for the two of them to hear.

“Okay.” Elena replied, nodding diligently for the second time.

“Mommy, will just check Daddy, and promise to get you back.” Selena said giving her daughter a kiss on her forehead, before she lift the table cloth to come out.

“Stay okay, cover your eyes and ears.” She remained to her daughter that Elena did immediately, before she completely come out under the table.

She was in a half way to exit their dining, when a Raffy showed up, with a smirk plastered in his face, that made her halted and rooted in an instant.

“Looking for your dear husband?” Raffy asked.

But before Selena answered another two men showed up while holding Sander in his both arms, wit blood freely flowing in his head that made her gasp in horror, and Raffy chuckled.

“Sander!” She called to Sander, with a teary eyes.

She was about to approach Sander, but Raffy immediately blocked her way making her bumped in to him.

“Relax, I just gave him his birthday present, I was just upset that you didn’t even give me an invitation and don’t worry I give you something as well.” Raffy said as he blocked her way, and held her in her arms.

“Don’t touch me!” Selena said shoved Raffy’s hands that holding her harshly, fighting the fear that is building fast in her system.

“Don’t touch my wife you bastard!” Sander shouted in rage as he finally regain his consciousness after being hit by the hard thing in his head, while stopping the three men to enter their house to buy his wife and his daughter a time to escape, but that happened.

Sander bulged to freed himself from the two men, even he is still dizzy. He needs to protect Selena, who is now bulging as well from Raffy’s grasp.

But, he is in disadvantage and he didn’t get to stop the other man to punched him hard in his stomach and followed to his jaw, that made him want to passed out, but he fought not to.

On the other hand, Selena screamed seeing Sander being beaten, and bulged from Raffy’s grasp with all she has, but Raffy is too strong for her.

“S-Stop please! S-Stop... I-I’m begging you.” She weakly surrender and beg, hoping Raffy would stop his men.

But Raffy just laugh, as if he if is entertained from seeing her desperation and Sander being beaten.

“Beg more, I want to hear you to beg more, my love.” Raffy said grinning.

“P-Please s-stop, I-I’ll do a-anything. Just stop!” She desperately beg, as the two men continue to beat Sander while Sander on the other hand still giving his all to alteast fight the two men even he is near in his limit.

“Really? You’ll do any thing?” Raffy asked with amusement as he touch her cheeks to wipe her tears but she flinched.

But Raffy didn’t like how she flinch. His eyes became furious as his jaw clenched as he cupped Selena’s jaw with one hand will full of force making her grunt in pain.

“Why? Are you disgust of me?!” Raffy asked grinning but his eyes were in rage.

“After you have done to me? You left me just because of that bastard!” Raffy shouted on her face, making the tear in her eyes fell because of fear.

“Your supposed to be mine! Mine! But what? That bastard took you away from me, and everything that supposed to be mine!” Raffy barked, pointing Sander with so much rage, while still cupping Selena’s face.

Selena, can’t do anything but to shake her head and said, “no, I never been yours Raffy, and I never been took by him, because I love him.”

Raffy laugh insanely after hearing wheat she had said, and pull her face more close to him while eyeing her with a wide eye as he stopped from laughing.

“No! your freaking mine and mine alone, I will not let him have you again!” Raffy said maniacally and with that, he reached Selena’s face with full of force and crashed his lips into hers.

Selena did everything to stop Raffy as she took a glance to where she hide her daughter and Sander who is now, unconscious from continuous beating that he received, not  minding her bleeding lips as Raffy continue to kissed her in rage as if he is punishing her.

On the other hand, the eight-year old Elena, is silently crying as she witness what is happening to her parents in a  cut space of the table cloth.

She can hear her Mom’s cry and plead being laid in the floor by the man that her Mom called Raffy, while her dress are getting ripped.

And as for her Dad that is now completely beaten and now collapse on the floor, with his white long sleeve polo became red because of the blood.

Elena saw her Mom, glance to where she is and shake her head, as if she can see her from the cover, signaling her not to come out no matter what.

Elena cried quietly, while watching her Dad being hit the one of the man whose beating him with a steel pole on his head making him lifeless.

“D-Dad…” Elena uttered quietly.

The tragic continues, as she watched her Mom being r***d infront of her very own eyes, and before her Mom died, she saw her taking a glance on her mouthing sorry and I love you to her.

After killing her parents, the men left their house with their leader named Raffy laughing insanely.

Elena stayed under the table even when she heard the car got away, she just remain looking to where her parents is lying lifeless, and cried quietly while calling her parents in whisper.

Mommy! Daddy!
