She don’t even know what to feel, but after a while she fell joy seeing the person infront of her. “Hi!” Her bestfriend Marco greeted. Yes, the person infront of her is her childhood bestfriend up until now. “M-Marco.” She said, still not able to asses if she is just dreaming. “Y-you, h-how?” Marco scoff at his bestfriend’s expression and reach his hand to Kealan’s hair and shuffled it, making Kealan face immediately sour. “I’m not dreaming, your real.” She stated, confirming after Marco did the thing she hated, and that is to shuffle her hair. “Don’t you dare give me that face, you still have to tell me what happened and how did you end up in this house.” Marco said with a scoff, and roaming his eyes to the surroundings after. She saw Marco became, serious after roaming his eyes to their surrounding especially the house. “Whose house is this?” Marco asked after. “A person named, Travis Trinidad, but he’s not here, so I was hired taking care of this house for a while.” She explained. Marco nodded, as he averted his gaze back to Kealan making her bite her lip because she suddenly feel tension in the atmosphere and a haunch that Marco will surely, going to be mad at her, once she told her reason why did she left without a word. Knowing Marco, they are bestfriends yes, but they also treat each other as a real siblings, Marco as her big brother and her being his little sister. “By the way, come on in first.” She invited, widening the opening of the door the let Marco in. Marco didn’t say anything and just nod a little, but his eyes showed that he is curious. She lead Marco to the sofa, where she also found Asher, busy cleaning himself. “Sit first, I’ll just get you something to drink.” She said after motioning Marco to sit to the single seat sofa. Kealan rush to the kitchen, but she nearly screamed in shock, after seeing T, standing beside the island counter, and seemed like waiting for her. “Gosh! How can you just appear without notice?” She asked putting her left hand to her chest to feel her pounding heart beat because of too much surprise. T didn’t said any word but he smiled. “How long have you been here? I didn’t saw you arriving.” She can’t help but to ask. “Just a while. Your too preoccupied with cleaning, so I decided not to disturb you.” T, replied. Kealan just nod to his answer and proceed to the refrigerator to get Marco a drink. “You have a guest?” T, asked while she is taking the juice carton out of the refrigerator. “Yep. My friend, he went to find me.” She replied. “Is he going to stay here long?” T, asked again. Kealan who is about to hold the glass of juice she prepared, halted from doing it, and glance to T. “Nope, not really.” She replied giving him a small smile. “By the way, I already feed your cat.” she informed. “Thanks.” He replied. “Will you be okay here? I’ll go back now. You can come if you want?” she offered. T, smiled and shake his head, “I’m good here, take your time.” Kealan nodded and said. “Okay.” With the orange just, she went back to the living room. “I’m sorry for the wait.” She said, placing the glass at the table and settled to another single sofa just across to Marco. “By the way, how did you find me?” She asked as after settling down to the sofa. How did you know I am here?” “What do you think?” He asked. “Of course I looked for you, and Drake accidentally saw you entering this house 2 days ago, so I tried to check if you really here and Drake is right.” Kealan looked down because of that and just raise her head when Marco speak. “How can you leave without telling us anything?” He asked. “You made us really worried.” He added. “Sorry.” She apologize with guilt knowing that she made Marco and his family worried. The atmosphere became quiet after but, after a while Marco was able to break it, by asking Kealan. “What happened?” He asked. “I went to your house but, your neighbors told me, Aunt and Uncle passed away and you just disappeared after.” Marco informed. Kealan, felt her eyes water upon hearing what Marco had said, as she recall what happened to her and to her family in a glimpse. She can also hear, the disappointment on Marco’s voice, and she knows what it is for. She didn’t told him about what happened, even when she got kicked by the loan sharks from her family’s house, that’s why Marco is like this, and she understands, but she don’t want to get them trouble, why she did hide everything. Marco just got back from Switzerland, when her parents accident happened leading them to death, and when she got kicked out is when Marco got heart broken to his girlfriend, so how can she tell him? “Sorry. I-I just don’t want to trouble you.” She apologize. “Back then, I know that you are tired from a long flight when Mom and Dad got into accident, dead on arrival.” She started explaining. “I tried, to tell you the second day, but I heard your having an argument with Anna, so I don’t want to make you more troubled because of my problem, and then the day I got kicked out was also the day you and Anna broke up, so how can I make you got to my problem, when you already have to deal with.” She explained wiping the tears that escaped from her eyes. “But, those things I have, doesn’t matter.” Marco said. “You should have told me about it.” “Mom also worried sick about you after hearing the news.” Marco added. “Tell, Aunt Mona that I am sorry for making her worried.” She asked for a favor. “And again, I’m sorry to you as well, I shouldn’t have told you about it, I’m sorry.” She added looking down out of too much guilt. Marco, heave a sigh, after seeing his bestfriend reaction, and change seat to and went closer to where Kealan is, and pull her right shoulder to hug her. Just like a falls, Kealan’s tears that she has been holding even after all she went through in just a month, freely flowed from her eyes. Marco, caress Kealan’s back to comfort the girl that he had been a little sister to him and also his bestfriend. He also feel guilty not, making any way to check up on her this passed month, because he got busy fixing his papers to transfer back to where Kealan is also studying, which his surprise to her, that added with his break up. Now he felt something heavy on his chest hearing his bestfriend cries, he also felt guilty that he got disappointed with Kealan’s sudden disappearance even without knowing her reasons first. “Marco, what am I going to do now? I don’t have family now. Mom and Dad left me.” Kealan, vulnerably said. Marco tears escaped from his eyes upon hearing what Kealan had said. “Shh…” “Don’t say, that. You still have me, and Mom.” He said. “Remember when we are in highschool that I can be your brother s***h bestfriend right? And Mom really adores you, more than I.” He added trying to comfort Kealan. “So, don’t feel that you don’t have family anymore, okay?” He asked. He felt Kealan nodded and said. “Thank you, Marco, and I’m sorry again. To you and to Aunt Mona.” Marco just smiled, still caressing Kealan’s back to comfort her. While at the corner side of the living room, the two didn’t notice a presence watching them, particularly to Kealan, upon hearing her story, and wondering as he felt the connection that he has been feeling towards Kealan had grown much stronger.
