Unnaturally Fated

CHAPTER 7

Kealan is busy petting the cat she found under the sofa, that she named Asher, for its gray fur and its male gender.

She don’t know how the cat ended there, but she decided to keep it with her from now on.

The massive rain is still haven’t subside, and with a strong winds. The power is still out and the only thing she has to lit her room is her phone that is now in a verge of draining.

Awhile ago, she saw the window in the kitchen opened, that cause numerous banging sound that she heard from her room.

Asher, climb up to her chest and continue his sleep while purring, making her smile.

“Are you cold, Asher?” She asked to the cat.

She smile again, as Asher answered her a small meow.

She move a little to lean to the headboard, and as she looked at the window, she suddenly thought T. He didn’t came back after he left this afternoon.

Maybe he went to his home, knowing that there is storm coming, she thought.

Kealan, didn’t notice that she doze off at the same time that her phone died, and at the corner of the dark, cold room, the person she thought about, is finally appeared and now staring at her.

Asher saw him and meowed on him, making him smile seeing his cat now on Kealan’s lap.

“Hey, Raven.” He said calling the cat’s real name, that he gave.

The cat meows again and he immediately put his finger on his lips, telling the cat not to make any noise that could wake Kealan.

The cat, didn’t made any noise again, but it stood up and went closer to him, and he immediately squat to level himself to the bed where his cat is standing at the corner.

“Be with her for a while, I still can’t appear infront of her often, I’m afraid to scare her, specially she would be the one who will take care of this house that everybody is scared off.” He said to the cat.

“I’ll be going now.” He informed his cat.

With a little petting to his cat without actually touching him, he smiled, and before he left he glance to Kealan and smiled.

Strange, but he didn’t know why he felt him being connected to the girl.

Honestly, he didn’t know why he let the girl saw him last night, and seeing her for the first time, almost damped with the rain, he felt a thud in his chest, which more stranger because of his state.

Morning came, Kealan woke up finding the cat lying on her chest.

She didn’t notice dozing off last night. She first move the cat on the bed, before getting up.

The weather is still gloomy but the wind and rain is not hard as it is last night.

Kealan averted her gaze as she heard Asher meows, and saw him standing up and yawn after.

“Hungry?” She asked as she sat to the bed, and the cat immediately went closer to her, and meows.

She chuckled because of it, and took the cat in her arms, and went out of the room, with the cup noodles she purchase yesterday.

“This is the only food I have. Can you still eat this?” She can’t help but to asked the cat after placing it to the dining.

The cat meows, and get down from the dining table, and went to the kitchen counter, which she immediately follows, afraid that the cat would scratch something their, and to her surprise, she saw the cat doing what she is afraid of.

“Asher stop it!” She scold to the cat while rushing to the kitchen counter.

The cat seemed understand s her for it stopped, and look at her and meows and look to the cabinet and meows again for the second time.

“Why Asher,” she asked looking to the cabinet that the cat is looking. “Did you saw a rat?”

The cat answered her a meow and look again to the cabinet.

“Yes?” She asked, to the cat, and started to reach the cabinet to open it, thinking that the cat really saw a rat there.

To her surprise instead of a rat, she saw cat food in a pouches in the lower part of the cabinet, and canned goods at the first and second layer of the cabinet.

“H-How?” She asked looking at the cat with full of amaze.

I think this cat is really a pet here? But whose cat he is? No one is leaving here, except… T? He said, he also staying her right? She thought, and look at the cat.

“Are you really T’s cat?” She asked and the cat meows.

She just nodded after and said. “I see.”

After that, she continued to check every cabinet and as she thought, like the other cabinets, it has noodle packs, unopened condiments, candles, matches and flashlights, arranged properly separated to each cabinet shelves.

After her little inspection, she look to the cat who is now busy cleaning himself, and stop as it notice she is looking at him.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this last night?” She ask to the cat.

The cat meows and she can’t help but to smile as the furry cat looks at her with its full of cuteness.

“Just kidding.” She said, still smiling, and pick the cat up. “Let’s go!”

With the pouch of cat food and the bowl found beside the pouches, she took the cat back to the dining, and set its food.

Its his cat, I’m feeding, I hope he don’t mind me touching his stocks. She thought.

“Make sure to eat a lot.” She said to the cat, as she placed the bowl of food to the floor.

She plastered a satisfied smile, as the cat started to eat. Now its time for her food.

Kealan, is in the middle of pouring the hot water to her cup noodles when she felt someone is staring at her from her back, that gave her goosebumps, and when she look to check it. She nearly jump after seeing T, standing at the dining entrance, while staring at her with knotted brows.

“Shocks! You really like to appear without a sound. Do you really want me to give me a heart attack?” She asked unbelievably.

“By the way, I’m sorry if I touch the cat food in your stocks, I need to feed Asher…I mean your cat.” She said.

But instead of answering her, T went to the refrigerator making her brows knotted this time.

“Open it.” He ordered.

“Why?” Without a word, she followed him and opened the refrigerator.

“Don’t just eat instant noodles. You can also eat and cook anything inside.” T, said, pertaining to the stocks inside the fridge, that she didn’t know that has.

“B-But…” She was about to decline but T, spoke.

“Mrs. Trinidad, sent this stocks for you yesterday, while you were out.” T said.

Kealan don’t know what to say, but she just found herself nodding to T and said. “Thanks.”

“Thanks for feeding my cat, by the way.” He said after.

“Uhm…”

“I’m leaving now, make sure to lock the every door.” T, said after, and is about to leave but Kealan spoke.

“Its raining hard outside, why don’t you just stay here for a while?” She asked, for the rain is starting pour hard again.

T, glance at her with a smile, and shake his head.

“I wanted to, but I’m afraid the flood outside the village, is getting higher, and Mom is alone in the house.” He lied.

“Just call me, if anything happens, I’m just around.” T, last said before leaving the dining.

Kealan, followed him, but halted as she reach the dining entrance as she didn’t see T, there anymore.

“He disappeared real fast.” She uttered and went back to the dining.

A smile form to her lips as she opened, the refrigerator, and saw that it is full of stocks.

“I need to thank Mrs. Trinidad for these.” She uttered, taking the eggs out of the refrigerator for addition to her breakfast.

While eating, she suddenly thinks of how T is always appearing. Appearing all of a sudden and disappear fast. Is he some sort of assassin? She thought.

Maybe? I also didn’t remember hearing the door opening when he left. She thought again, but immediately shake her head to shove off her silly thoughts again.

“Let’s stop thinking, and just eat. You need to rest for today, because for sure once the storm ended you will have a lot things to do.” She said to herself.
