CHAPTER 3

CHAPTER THREE

Kealan left the house after giving her thanks and apologizing for her intrusion.

Heave a sigh, Kealan started walking mindlessly. She is thankful that even she is extremely famish she still have a strength to walk. While walking, Kealan thought how she will eat while scratching the back of her left ear like she always did as a mannerism when she is thinking.

“Huh!” Kealan halt from walking and scratching her left ear when she felt her earing.

“Why I didn’t thought of this sooner?” Kealan said to herself as she removed her pair of earrings.

Her earing is a 24-karat gold that she got on her 19th Birthday as a present for herself for it has a simplest yet stunning design of butterfly in it that immediately caught her attention.

“I’m sorry, I badly need a money but I promise to get you back as soon as I will have money.” Kealan said while staring at her favorite earing.

Kealan immediately came to the nearest pawnshop she saw to pawn her earrings.

Got the money from her earrings she took a step towards the fast-food restaurant that just across the pawn shop.

The scent of the food greeted Kealan as soon as she get inside the fast-food restaurant making her gulp as soon as she heard her stomach growl, she roamed her eyes to see if someone heard her loud stomach and heave a relieve sigh as soon as she saw that no one notice.

“Thank goodness!” Kealan quietly exclaimed and take a step towards the counter to order her food that the crew immediately readied in no time.

“Thank you!” Kealan said thanking the crew before she took her order and found herself a vacant spot on the corner, her favorite spot.

After a half hour of eating, Kealan let a loud satisfied burp to come out, luckily that she was the only one who was seating in there and some of the diners are on the middle spot making them not to hear her burp.

“You are safe now from hunger, Keal,” Kealan said to herself, “good job!”

Kealan plan what will she do for the day before leaving the fastfood restaurant and gone to find a low cost apartment or a boarding that she could stay.

While walking Kealan attention was caught by a poster that indicates “Wanted Caretaker!”

Her face lit up as soon as she read the poster and took it immediately to read the information she needs and took the path where the address of a person needs to find indicates.

The address wasn’t that far making Kealan arrived immediately, as soon as she arrived Kealan saw a Vintage European House. Kealan took a second look on the address from the poster to check if she arrived at the right address and when she confirmed it she immediately pressed the doorbell.

An old man came out from the house and opened the gate after a minute of waiting.

“Good morning, young lady, what can I do for you?” the old man asked Kealan.

“I am Kealan Valle and I am looking for Mr. Arsenio Trinidad for this, sir.” Kealan replied

She introduced herself with a smile while showing the poster to the old man.

“I’m Arsenio Trinidad, come on in young lady.” The old man said opening the gate wider for her.

“Thank you.” Kealan said for opening the gate for her.

As soon as Kealan entered the gate, an astonishing garden greeted her making her mouth fell in awe.

The garden was wide, it has a mini maze of different colors of roses, a sparkling clear water is flowing freely from the fountain in the middle of the maze and the butterflies are flying freely like it was purposely put in there to make the garden astonishing.

“You like flowers?” Kealan heard the Mr. Arsenio asked suddenly making her realize that she had been staring at the garden for a while.

“Yes, Sir.” Kealan replied with a smile and Mr. Trinidad just nod with a smile after and motioned her towards the house.

As they arrived in front of the house main door an old yet still beautiful woman that Kealan though was probably in her 70’s greeted her with a kind smile that made Kealan instantly comfortable.

“My name is Belle, Arsenio’s wife.” The old lady named Belle introduced sweetly.

“I’m Kealan Valle, Ma’am” Kealan said introducing herself as well.

“It’s nice to meet you Kealan.” Mrs. Trinidad said again, her kind smile wasn’t leaving her face.

“Let’s go.” Mr. Trinidad said after the introduction and motioned them on the side part of the house.

The old couple took Kealan to the lawn where there are chairs and table that can be use for an outdoor meal, or just to relax for it was facing the garden.

As they settled on their chairs Kealan took her resume that she had printed before she came and handed it to the couple infront of her. Mrs. Trinidad was the one who took her resume and immediately read it.

As the time goes by, Kealan became tense as she watched Mrs. Trinidad reading her resume.

“You are hired!” Mrs. Trinidad suddenly said after a minute while putting down her resume making the tense she’d feeling turned into shocked. Just like that?! Kealan thought staring at the couple in shock.

“I-I’m hired?” Kealan repeated, Mrs. Trinidad nod while smiling, as she stared at Kealan’s shocked face.

“Thank you! Thank you Ma’am, Sir! I promise I will be a good caretaker and that will treating your house like my own!” Kealan gratefully said to the couple who are both smiling from Kealan’s reaction.

After recovering from being overwhelmed Kealan suddenly felt her face heated from embarrassment.

“Hehe, I’m sorry Ma’am, Sir… I overjoyed.” Kealan said embarrassed making the couple laughed.

“It’s okay Kealan.” Mrs. Trininad said.

“By the way, here are the things and information you need to do and to know.” Mrs. Trinidad said again handing Kealan a two page paper that Kealan immediately took and read.

After reading the information Kealan found out that the couple’s grandson’s house will be the one she will be going to take care of.

After signing a contract, the couple took Kealan to their grandson’s house.

“We’re here!” Mr. Trinidad announce as the car stop, but Kealan mouth fell in shock as they stopped infront of a very familiar house for Kealan.

W-Wait, t-this is the same house where I stayed  last night!
