Unnaturally Fated

CHAPTER 20

Selena, woke up by a sound of a footsteps, making her to immediately alerted as she got up, still thought that she is still in the hands of Raffy.

“Good mornimg Ms. Vaughn. How are you feeling?” A mid 50’s woman wearing s doctors gown asked with gentle smile.

Selena, look at the doctor. Still not able to process who is the person infront of her.

“W-Where am I,” she asked, “how did I get here?”

“I’m Dr. Cyge Levine. Mr. Mirabello and Mr. Vaughn brought you here last night.” The doctor replied.

As if it was like a rewind, Selena began to recall everything. The time that Sander barge in the room where she was, until everything went black to her. She thought she was just dreaming, but it was real!

Selena, glance at the doctor as a wide smile started to form into her lips, after the realization struck her.

“It was real!” She stated with happiness. The doctor nod with a smile.

But Selena’s smile suddenly fade as she realize that she woke up alone inside the room.

“Where is Sander and my Dad, Doc?” She asked.

“Mr. Vaughn just left, and requested me to stay with you for a while until he came back.” Dr. Cyge replied.

“As for Mr. Mirabello. He is currently in the next room next to yours.” Dr. Cyge added.

“Why? Is there something wrong? Did Sander got hurt again? Can I go to him now?” Selena worriedly asked consecutively.

She was about to get up from her bed, but Dr. Cyge stopped her, at the exact time, the door of her room opened, making their both attention switch to it, and saw Sander walking in the room. This time Dr. Cyge didn’t stop anymore as Selena hurriedly got up and went to Sander who is now wearing a bright smile upon seeing Selena.

“Careful.” Sander reminded to Selena, as he meet half way.

Selena carefully wrapped her arms on Sander’s body, and so Sander.

“You shouldn’t run like that, you might tripped you know.” Sander said in a concerned gentle voice. “By the way how are you feeling?”

But before Selena answered Sander’s question. Dr. Cyge interrupted and excuse herself.

“Thanks, Cyge for staying with Selena. By the way send my regards to Lucas and Cyrus.” Sander said pertaining to Dr. Cyge husband and son.

“I will, Thanks.” Dr. Cyge replied before leaving him and Selena alone in the room.

“You know Dr. Cyge?” Selena asked out off her curiosity.

Sander smiled and nod. “Lucas, Dr. Cyge husband is one of my friends way back college, and Cyrus their son’s god father.”

“Lucas has also one of the stockholders in our company.” He added.

“You mean the Mr. Lucea Levine of CLC Pharmaceuticals?” Selena asked, and again Sander smiley nod.

“By the way, you haven’t able to answer my question a while ago. How are you feeling?” Sander asked changing the topic.

“Better.” She replied with a smile. “How about you?”

“Is your wound is still not okay?” She asked this time. “I heard you are staying at the next room. Are you alright?”

“I’m perfectly fine.” Sander replied, touching Selena’s cut in the lip.

Sander stared at it and caress the side of it gently, his face mirrored a guilt for what Selena had gone through, and anger towards Raffy.

“I’m sorry love, I let you waited for too long.” He said moving his gaze to Selena’s eyes so they can stared each other from eye to eye, and peck a kiss on Selena’s forehead, making her close her eyes to savor the soft and gentle kiss of Sander in her forehead.

She missed it. She missed it so much, Sander’s warm hugs and kisses. She was really scared not to be able seeing him again, and she can’t help to teared up while savoring Sander’s kiss that is now on her lips.

“I miss you, love.” Sander whispered in between their kiss.

The kiss isn’t that long, but enough to make their longing for each other to quench.

They spend their time cuddling on Selena’s room. Sander was already up for discharge to the hospital as of today, as his wound can be heal at home, but advice to still come over for cleaning, but even so, Sander chose not to go, instead he requested to get transfer to Selena’s room, and because of his strong connection inside the hospital, the hospital let him immediately.

Sander don’t ever want Selena to disappear from her sight ever again, afraid that Selena would be taken away, which he would never going to let to happen again.

“Using connections huh?” Selena teased after another bed was transfer into the room, while wriggling her brows on Sander that made Sander scoff a chuckle.

“Why? Don’t you want me to stay with you as well?” He teased back, with a playful smile and wink after.

Selena snorted, because Sander is being boastful to himself again. But she can’t help to chuckle, as Sander started to became playful, while wriggling his brows at her.

“Fine, I also like it.” She answered acting like being for to agree, but the truth is she’s glad to have Sander presence around, for she feel safe with him around her.

That night, Sander sleep with Selena in his uninjured arm, and they cuddle until they fell asleep.

Sander woke by Selena’s moan, making him got up in an instant, only to see Selena looks like being struggle while continue moaning, and realizing that Selena is having a nightmare.

“Selena, love wake up!” He called for Selena while shaking her body to wake her up.

Selena didn’t respond to him immediately, and instead she tried to shove his hands and started to scream. “Let me go! Let me go!”

“Selena! Love, your dreaming, wake up!” He said shaking Selena even more.

This time Selena, opened her eyes, while panting an her eyes is tearing up, that eventually turned into cry after she saw him.

“Shh…”

“Its just a dream, I’m here love. I’m here.” He said in a soft voice after hugging Selena to calm her down.

“I-I t-thought, I-I went back to that h-house. I’m trying to s-scape again b-but he c-caught m-me and t-tied m-me.” Selena said in between her sobs.

Sander caress Selena’s hair to soothe her and make her feel safe.

“You will never going back to that place, Love. I promise.” Sander swore not just for Selena but for himself.

Seeing her woman hurt, makes is chest hurt, and at the same time, giving him a more strong urge to, kill Raffy with his bare hands, giving him much more punishments he deserve.

He can’t imagine what had his girlfriend had gone through Raffy’s hands to have a nightmare like this, and he never ever let it to happen again, not in his lifetime.

“Sleep now again love.” He said urging Selena to sleep again after she calmed down.

“I don’t want to. I’m scared.” Selena replied full of vulnerability.

Sander kissed Selena in her head and give her a reassuring smile.

“Don’t be, I will always be here with you. I will watch you sleep.” He said.

Selena, nodded after a while and went much more closer to him and said “Don’t leave okay?”

“I won’t, Love, I won’t.” He whispered after fixing Selena’s blanket and embrace her.

After a while Selena’s breath became stable indicating, she saw already drift back to sleep, when he heard his phone on the bedside table rang.

Moving carefully not to wake Selena, he tried to reach his phone, which he did but end up hissing in pain, as he used his injured shoulder to reach it, for Selena is using his other arm as a pillow.

Letting Selena’s sleep not to get disturb by his phone tone, Sander answered his phone after recovering for his injured pain, without looking at the caller he pick up the call.

“Hello?” He as he pick up the call.

But no one responded from the other line, making him to check who the caller is, and saw that it was Kai’s number.

“Hello? Bud?” He said again to the other line.

He heard a noise from the background of it, making his brows knotted and a thud in his chest.

“Hi, long time no talk brother!” A sarcastic voice said from the other line.

“Raffy.” He called to the owner of the voice from the other line while clenching his phone tightly.
