"You can shift into one creature to another!"Qira gasped before I had a chance to speak.
"Qiranna." Her brother scolded.
"Oh, beat it. " She shot back, "come with me." She said and took my hand as well as Abby's.
I somehow ended up in my bed as Qira eyed me carefully while Abby looked at her like she was crazy.
"Qiranna you can't just-"Eros said but stopped and looked around my room. The bed was all the way to the conner and around it were bookcases filled to the point some books were on the floor or on the organ that was on that was against the wall across the bed. "Interesting room."
"She's the second biggest book worm in this household. " Abby said as she continued to observe Qira who held her arms out.
He smiled, "Noted."
"Try to do magic." Qira ordered with an excited look on her face.
"Flamaro Incaendia." I murmured, but nothing happened. I shifted my weight to my other foot and tried again, and again.
"Don't think about it," Abby tells me, "It won't work if you try to force it, you have to ease into it."
I nodded and took a deep breath, "Flamaro Incaendia." I chanted and a flicker of flame danced in my palm, but at the same time, I began to feel warm, a type of warm I haven't felt in a long time.
"Okay, now try to focus on your vampire side." I was unsure of how to do so, my mind was just focuused on the warmth I now felt. Then I realized the dullness I felt, nothing was sharp or focused, I felt.....human. I let the fire in my hand die out and brought my hand up to my chest and I took a breath of air in. As I let it out, the warmth left with it, leaving me cold and thristy for blood, and I felt how I was pulled to that part of me.
"That are you doing to her? " Robin asked defensively, his sence of smell could pick up my sudden changes.
"Nothing, Jane is just showing Qira how her hybrid body works." Eros stated and looked into his sisters mind to observe. That's when Qira blocked him."Hey?!" He complained.
"Eros, shut up, you know I hate you picking my head," She said and continued to scan my aura. How she knew her brither was in her head I don't know. But she immediatly sence my confusion, "I feel him," she says, "It's like a touch when he snoops, something feels off."
"Oh," I murmured.
"I think I know how you are able to change into a wolf." Qira announced sat on the ground beside my bed.
"How? It's technically impossible."Vincent protested.
Qira chirped, "But she's living proof of impossible. "
"So how does it work. " I asked curiously.
"Your being centers around your vampire form, it's what's keeping you alive, stable persay. When ever you chant a spell it's like your being, your lifeline, leans towards your a witch's side, but it doesn't let completely go of you're vampire form. It makes you mortal enough so you can cast spells."
"So is that the same with Abby?"I asked.
"Yes, but you have one more in born attribute. "She added, "You're half werewolf. It wasn't very prominent when we met you back when you were human, but it gave your sent an edge."
Abby gasped,"That's why you smelled odd when you were turned." Abby said, recalling that painful day. I flinched.
"And probably why you were able to fight for your life for a while longer even with your injuries," Vincent added.
"Werewolves have a speedup metabolism and immune system throughout their life span, maybe it got stronger thanks to her witch side? "Robin suggested.
"Yeah, but it doesn't explain the how she accepted the vampire venom so well. From the books I've read about werewolves, it should have caused a reaction."Vincent said.
"I am half wolf and I was weak, it was probably too small to make a reaction," I said.
"That's true," Abby said.
"Hybrids are complicated," Kenneth said.
"Taking like your wife isn't one," I grumbled.
"Wife?" Robin asked.
"We have been together for 35 years, we just don't show it off. " Abby told him.
"Sorry, you just all look young. "
"We are frozen at the age we turned," Sara said smiling at the young looking comment.
"I guess I don't know much about you, all, well. . . "Robin trailed off.
"Well except for your girlfriend, yeah we figured, blah, blah, blah," Kenneth said making me glare at him.
"Well other than Janeane, we don't know much about you. " Eros said.
"Please don't call me Janeane."I asked.
"Why, Janeane?" Kenneth asked pushing my buttons.
"She's a hybrid witch, werewolf turned vampire. I wouldn't mess with her." Eros said making Kenneth shrug and shut up.
"Thanks." I told Eros and he nodded as he leaned back on the wall as he began his story.
"Well, Qira and I were born 19 almost 20 years apart, Zetrova or Zero, how we used to call her, is six year older than me. Zero's mom died during her birth and our father remarried afterwards and had me six year later." Eros began,"My mother died and then came Qira's mother a decade later, my father had money so wives weren't difficult for him to get. Three years after Qira's birth, my Zero found a man in the woods as she traveled home from the village. He turned her after he heard he story, telling her, her future was better. "
"Our sister came back a few years later, and told us about her new life in the Moroi castle she lived in." Qira continued,"But I had already been born, and Qira's mother had died, and so did my father, knowing he couldn't care for us alone.
"He killed himself?" I found myself asking, she nodded.
"All I had was my brother."
"Zero turned me and promised me a better future, no cold, sickness or hunger." Eros told us,"But when she told me I had to leave Qira, I rejected her offer to join her in Russia. But by that point I had already changed, the second I said yes to becoming this, well, my sister didn't hesitate. I was already a vampire, so I waited and discovered my gifts. I didn't hide what I was from my sister and prepared her for what she had coming if she chose this life. When Qira turned 15, I changed her and went to look for our sister. "
"It was obvious she envied our gifts. Eros mind reading, my aura gift. She let us stay, but we were her personal assistants and jury when it came to a crime. It took us a while to leave, we knew we weren't able to survive without blood, but we were discussted by human blood but addicted to it. That when we found you and the Gold Eye Coven."
"That's, wow." Kenneth said.
"Why is it Gold Eye Coven?" Robin asked.
"When vampires drink human blood, they have red eyes. But animal drinkers have Gold eyes, and it makes us less strong but more civilized than human drinkers. "Vincent explained.
"Oh."
"Wait you said that there was a guard army, what's that?" Sara asked.
"They are just vampires Zero stole their life's from," Qira said.
"They can be easily defeated, our old witch used to do it with a snap of his fingers when they irritated him. "
"Him?" Kenneth asked.
"Witches aren't always girls," Abby said as she walked over to my organ piano and took the bench so she could sit.
"What about you, werewolf? " Kenneth asked then suddenly took Abby on his lap.
" Well werewolf don't age until they stop phasing, which starts around your late teens. My dad was the last alpha then the title was passed down to me when he died. Since both of my parents wolf gene didn't appear, they died later on. And that's pretty much it. "
"Oh," I said feeling guilty.
"It's fine." He said,"But I'm curious about the Sun Stone, you said you needed them to be in the sun, what's that?" He asked me, but Abby wanted to answer.
"Go ahead," I told her.
"A vampire can't walk into the suns glare without a Sun Stone. Before me, Vincent stayed in the shadows of Italy, where he worked as a tutor at night for the children. But after me, I found how he and I could be in the sun. with and spell on a gem to protect us. We wear several a day just incase one falls or is stolen. My favorite is my wedding ring."
"Ring." Kenneth and Vincent both said.
"My wedding ring." Sara gushed as Vincent took her hand.
"Bracelet." I said lifting my gold band around my wrist that was encrusted with sapphires.
I yawned and my eyes dropped a bit.
"Is the immortal tired?" Robin teased.
I pushed his shoulder softly, aware of my strength.
"Well, we should all get some sleep. Six of us have school." Qira said and began walking out,"Good night ."
Then I had a crazy idea.
