XIV. The Execution

1733 Words
It didn't feel real. It felt like a dream, a nightmare. A twisted nightmare where I stared into a mirror, only it wasn't me. I saw myself in the woman standing in front of me. I didn't want to admit it to myself, but I knew what was going on, I know who she and the man who stood next to her was, but I couldn't bring myself to admit it. But the truth was undeniable. I was about to witness my parent's death. "Rosemary Olivia Harris and George Trevor Blackwood, you know the crime you are both charged for, correct? " Velaro's cold voice asked. I felt myself "You and I both know it is not a crime, Velaro." George Blackwood says and even if this wasn't real, I felt it. My father's power, his aura and his rank. He was more than an alpha, he was already a king. "This crossbreeding you are attempting is, Blackwood," the vampire king hissed and continued smugly, "I am acting within my rights." "It is our right to love one another, you can't decide who can love who-" "That is true. Mates are as old as the old magic that makes us supernatural. However, the offspring you bring into this world will destroy the balance of the world we live in." "You are in no right to tell a king what to do!" the werewolf king roars and step forward. At once, dozens of guards step forward from the shadows and from thin air. That's when I see them. Eros and Qira, standing by their sister under red cloaks and wearing a blank face. Velaro's nose flares, "This world needs balance! I will not stand by while my enemy harbors a weapon and calls it a child! The monster you breed will destroy the kingdoms and the order that has been established long before wolves were men! I may not be able to tell you what to do Blackwood, but I can make it so the child is never born!" "Kill me and my father will stop at nothing to rip you to shreds. " My father said and looks down at himself. " Zero stood up and Qira and Eros follow her like a shadow. "We are here to serve justice to a crime that will be committed, you can understand our need to be precautious, your grace. You would do the same if it were anyone else." "To who is loving another a crime."My mom cried. "It's not love, you were going to create a threatening creature to both the Human World and the Supernatural world ." Zero said ."Qira, dear, what is your judgment? " "It's technically impossible for her to conceive, her whom is incapable now after her beating. "She spoke, "I say let them go." "It is no use, young vampire," My mother said as Zero eyed her soft-hearted sister, "No matter what anyone says, their judgment has been made." Mom chanted mentally and a small dagger from a display from the throne footed above Velaro, by the time Eros notice, making Zero turn, it was too late. The knife was in his heart and he fell limp. "But it doesn't mean we won't drag you guys with us." A loud, pained sheik filled the room as Zero fell to his feet in super speed,"Nooooo!" "Let us go and I'll bring him back." My mother said, but she said it with a hollow voice, almost as if she knew what was going to happen either way. By the next second, my dad was ripped off from my mother's side and was held front the neck by Zero. "Bring him back, NOW!!!" She ordered, "Do the spell NOW!" "George," Mom said and they exchanged a knowing look, "I love you." "AHHH." the vampire queen shrieked out of rage and snapped her head to look at the alpha in her hand. A wild expression rested on her and I watched as my father shifted into his wolf form, but it wasn't faster than the hand that ripped out his hearing. I looked away as a loud crack and thud echoed through the room, tears forming around my eyes. I turned around and saw my mother looking at his dead body. The life in her eyes gone and replaced by grief. Tears rolled down my mother's cheek, "An eye for an eye, shall we." She said before Zero stabbed her in the chest. As her heart bleed out, she murmured in her head.'Your sister will go mad, and she will kill you unless my daughter kills her, I saw it. Please save yourselves, save her, save Jane- .' The image suddenly changed and I found myself in a smaller stone room, Zero and a group of people looked over a map, "We've received information from the informat, said they are regrouping and preparing for an attack. Also said Eros and Qira are with the Hybrid. " a man spoke. "Those traitors, after all I've given them. Tell the witch to show them a piece of mind, do whatever she pleases, but don't kill them all. I wanna do that myself in two weeks when we have the book." Zero hissed. "I'll do to her what she did to my husband." My eyes shot open, wetness pooling in my eyes. I wasn't in the dining room anymore. I sat up and saw the faces of my family, I wiped my eyes. Tears? I can cry? I was in a bed and probably in a room, they all super speeded to sit down, but Robin was the one who made contact first. "Jane." He said as he hugged my a little too tight. "I'm still a bit human," I choked. He pulled away and looked apologetically. "Sorry," he said I pulled away and said,"She will come in two weeks. The witch is just here to weaken us. And, and I saw their execution, I saw my parents die." I said, feeling like crying, but I went to my vampire from, freezing me in. They knew they were going to die, they went in there not to fight, but to keep me safe. Why? "I so sorry, I should have been stronger, I'm sorry Jane. " Abby said and walked towards me. "No, that was why I was there for, to help you. And I couldn't let you die. "I said, "Eros, Qira, she knows you're with us and the witch will try to kill some of us. " My head throbbed and I felt, thirsty. Eros smirked as he read my thoughts and passed me the thermos. "You are going to need something stronger than that if you want to get that witch," Vincent said and all the vampires in the room looked at him with wide eyes. " Are you suggesting -? " Robin said and I cut him off. "What!?" I shrieked and got up on my feet. "We all need it. Eros, you look like you're going to faint, so do you Qira. Abigail, the spell took a toll on you and a bigger one you Jane. And the normal vampires in this family haven't hunted in weeks." Sara justified. "Where are we supposed to get it? We can't just go to town and drink someone. Vincent. We don't know if we, or more like they," I said nodding towards the Russian siblings, "will be able to control their thirst." "That why I brought blood bags home from work, they were supposed to be just in case Eros or Qira went wild. "Vincent responded. "No. We can't, we haven't drank human blood in decades!" "Jane, you're our best shot, we need you at your strongest," Eros said. As much as I hate to admit it, Eros was right. Abby was a strong witch, but she was limited. She wasn't going to be able to fight off a witch of an ancient bloodline, especially one with thousands of years of knowledge in grimoires. I looked at my creator, my father, he was willing to go against his very morals of existence to protect me, his little girl. I thought back to my biological parents, their execution still lingering in my head as things didn't seem to fit in, but above that, how my mother did everything in her power to protect my father and me. I never had the best experience with human blood. I always tried to never mind it, but I knew what I had to do in order to protect my coven, my family. I sighed, "Go get them." Sara was back by the next minute with eight 6-ounce B+ blood bags. She passed them, tossing them to the vampires in the room. We all opened the bag's nostrils, the intoxicating scent of cool blood swirling in the air. To everyone's surprise, Eros and Qira didn't go frenzied over the blood. "Nice to know you all had confidence in us," Eros muttered sarcastically. "It was just a precaution, Eros," Vincent said. "Bottoms up,"I said already in disgust. I open the bag, taking in the first drops. I drank the oozey liquid and tried to ignore the urge for more. "What is - Ahhh!" Linsey screamed,"What are you all doing? !" "The witch is going to try to kill some of us and they are getting stronger by drinking human blood." Robin said as he stood up, "And it does smell weird in here." I finished the bag and set the empty bag on the bed,"God I hate it so bad." I groaned and held my head a bit like the effect sunk in. "Well, I came to tell you that-" Suddenly a fireball burst through the window and came rushing towards Linsey. And like if it was all frozen, she stood motionless like an i***t. Time stood still and I could feel the heat from the fireball, the sent of the people around me. It was like my senses were woken up. The blood was coursing through my system. I super speeded to her and pushed her out of the way then created a water shield. Extinguishing the flame. "T-thanks." She stuttered. I held my hand out to her, "We owe you for protecting us." I pulled her to her feet as the others stared, "Did you or did you not see a flying fireball? We're being attacked. GO! "
