It was around five in the morning when everything was quiet in the house, the vampires had gone hunting and I stayed and watched the over Rebbecca, the little girl who was now motherless.
Rebbecca played silently with two other children in our game room. Luke, Quill, and their mates sat in a near my sofa, as the rest of the werewolves cared for their injured loved ones. Most of the wolves made it out alive, a few injuries, and one in a coma, but otherwise fine. There was a boy, who lost his mate and there was a meltdown. Luckily Qira was able to help him by letting her show him the best of the fallen mate's life.
I learned a few things as I took care of the injured, the werewolf pack was composed of nine men and five women, then there were eight humans left. Other than the boy who lost his mate (who was human), Linsey and Robin, the rest were mated between them, there were also two human girls that took their place as the mates of two wolves.
Robin came down and fourteen werewolves, three kids, two human mates and the mom of two kids looked up along with me. The four that were still hospitalized were all human, one was the father of the two kids.
"We were a small pack from the start, and we have become smaller but stronger. We should honor the family, friends and loved ones we lost." He began, "Zero has made herself a new enemy, like for most of the werewolves around the globe. Let us honor the fallen, let us avenge them. "
I look at him as something bacame engraved into my head. I watched as the wolves nodded in silence, but a small sob broke. Rebbecca came running to me as she began crying.
"Shh, it's okay, sweetheart. Everything will be fine." I got up and took her in my arms, then walked up the stairs as Robin continued to talk.
When we got to my room, she was still sobbing.
"Let's change your bands, okay. " I said and set the little girl down on my bed.
"D-do y-y-you t-think t-they w-will g-go t-to h-heaven?" She said between sobs.
"Yes, why wouldn't they, they raised such a good girl, they will live happily in heaven," I told her soothingly. As I replied the ointment on the cut on her shin. I replaced the old bands for new ones and then looked at her, "Do you want to go back downstairs? "
"No."She said then yawned.
"Are you sleepy? " she nodded with drouzy eyes.
"Do you want to sleep in my bed?" She nodded again I smiled, "Get some sleep, sleepy head."
She dozed off and I covered her with a blanket. After a few minutes of watching her, I got up, I was getting a book from my library when someone knocked on my door. I walked over and opened it slightly, Robin was standing on the other side, "Can I come in?"
I nodded and opened it for him, "Are you okay?" I asked.
"I've delt with worse." He said as he walked in.
"That's not what I meant. "I said.
"I'm just sad, I guess. My pack is mourning and I feel it, all of it. The anger, the pain, the frustration. With the death of Sakota it's a bit harder." He sighs, "But they are using Qira's advice, to look at the best memories of her. . .How about you? "
"I-I don't know. I am mad at that witch - and I don't mean the one I killed. Zero has taken so much from me, my parents, my friends and now she has put a burden of guilt over me." I hissed.
"Don't throw a tantrum ."He teased as he lifted my chin up.
"Be quiet, I've never thrown a tantrum." I defended.
He smirked, "What else have you not done? " he asked me.
"Robin." I hissed.
He laughed, "You have to be joking."
"So what if I'm a virgin."
"But look at you."
"What about me?"
"Everything about you." He murmured as he pulled away.
How does he have this effect on me?
Because it's not him. Someone in the back of the head whispered.
There was a small whimper, Rebbecca twisted and turned then woke up with a shout. She began to cry. My wolf side took over.
"Rebbecca? " Robin asked as he walked to the bed.
"Yes Alpha?"The little five years old managed to say.
I sat behind her and comforted her, "Were you having a nightmare?" He asked and looked at me amused.
"Yes, sorry, Alpha and sorry my Queen. " She ducking her head apologetically.
"Oh, its fine, are you hungry?" I asked. She nodded shyly, "Well I smell someone cooking. Let's go see what we can steal from them. M' kay? "
She giggled and I took her in my arms, where she looked at me, "What is it? Do I have something on my face? "
She snickered, "No, you're just pretty."
"Well, thank you. You're very pretty, too. It's rare for someone to call me 'pretty ', you know. "I said as we walked out and down the stairs.
"Hey, I call you pretty." Robin defended.
"When? " I retorted and he was lost, "I'm messing with you."
We walked into the kitchen, which used to be a prop since we don't eat actual food, and saw Luke with a girl cooking.
"Did Sara bring all that?" Robin asked as he eyed the cooked pig fat.
"I still don't understand why humans eat this," I said as I picked up strips.
"Well yes, Sara did bring this, and more. Man, they are rich. I got lost in this place and ended up in the garage. They have a fricken Lamborghini." Luke said as he served up some plates.
"Which reminds me, I have car shopping to do," I said since all the cars except for my bike and the Volvo were destroyed in the attack.
"I think I landed on the Mustang when the witch threw me." Raine, Luke's mate said, "Who's car was that?"
"Mine,"I said raising my hand theatrically.
"s**t, I'm sorry. "
"It's fine, we owe you a house, to begin with. What your name?"
"Raine, Luke's mate," she said, introducing herself to me properly. She then smiled pridefully as Luke kissed her cheek. "We talked a bit before, but I wanted to introduce myself more formally."
"How are you holding up?" I asked her.
"I'm good, werewolves heal fast and we have had worst wars." She told me.
"Here you go, Becky. "Luke said as he gave Rebbecca a plate with scrambled chicken eggs mixed with-
"Honey, it's scrambled ham and eggs with bacon." Robin laughed as he slipped his arms around my back.
"I haven't eaten anything since my breakfast in 1890, which was a piece of bread and tea." I said, "After that, well, you get the picture. "
"Thanks for not ruining our breakfast, Queen," Luke said.
"That will take a while to get used to," I mumbled.
"Why? You're a white wolf, Queen fits perfectly, like a diamond. " Robin said when a squeal burst out of Raine.
"She's a white wolf!"
