Chapter 5: planning

Selene P.O.V

“Honey, I know that my revelation is uncomfortable, but you should go tell Chase I’m okay, he’s outside trying to figure out how to approach us. Mostly me and let him know that everything will be okay.” I said.

“How did you know he was here?” Jacob asked.

“I can sense his presence and hear his thoughts. I didn’t do this intentionally. People's voices there.” I said.

Jacob went to open the door. They were both startled by the surprise they got. It was a bit funny both seeing them like that. Chase saw me giggle and laughed, but then he got a serious expression.

“Selene, I’m sorry for how Raya has been acting and saying. It wasn’t right. I know all you’ve ever done is try to protect us and be part of the pack, so I say this with a heavy heart. She needs to be a rogue, and when the time comes, I’ll get rid of her… She has become a danger to herself and, most importantly, to everyone around her. I can’t make her go rogue, but you can turn her with your alpha blood, how are you? By the way.” chase basically pleading.

“Chase, I don’t think I should be the one to do that.” I told chase.

“Why not? Sels. You know it’s the right thing to do. She has crossed so many lines throughout the years. I know you haven’t said or done anything, because you see the love and care we have for her. We protect each other, but today she took it too far and I don’t want to feel responsible for her anymore. She needs to be on her own.” Chase continued to say, my heart broke for Raya, but he is right, I just can’t afford to go on fight where I would need to shift and put my pup at risk. I wouldn’t be able to keep my pregnancy a secret.

“Well, she will want to fight, and I don’t want to do that, for starters. Also, when I win, what makes you think she will honor the fight?” I questioned nonchalantly.

“No, she wouldn’t. I don’t know what else to do.” He said almost given up.

“I have an idea, but it could go either way…” I giggled because chase and Jacob made some face.

“What do you mean?” chased asked - “And why are you looking at me?” Jacob asked.

“Because it involves you. Let me explain. Jacob, you should go tell her to turn herself rogue, she’ll listen to you. Tell her how disappointed you are in her, that you don’t think that she should be traveling with us for your safety. She will go of her own accord. Tell her that’s not just for your safety, but your pup’s.” I told Jacob.

“What!? What pup? What is she talking about? Chased screamed and I looked at Jacob and nodded.

“Chase, Sel is pregnant with a pup, our pup. She can’t risk shifting in her state, because of Raya, she fainted in the first place. *Should tell him about you, the real you. * Not yet* you know Sel knows more about these things than us. She knows how to handle a rogue; Raya is out of control, which is worse than being a rogue. At least rogues lose their humanity, that is why they act like that, but what is Raya’s excuse?” Jacob told Chase.

Chase looked stunned, even surprised by Jacobs' words, considering Jacob always had Raya’s back, but he changed his mind, like the news of having a pup made him realize something he had been blind by. “That is why she needs to be banished.” – “Chase is there something you’re not saying?” Chase sighed and looked at his hands, he’s nervous, he has been keeping a secret * Sel, I know who Rayas parents are, but I don’t know how Jacob will react once I tell you. * - * Trust me, he will process it well* - * Are you sure? I nodded with a slight smile.

“Jacob, I know who Rayas parents were. See I came from a pack, the white moon pack. And I was about 4 or 5 years old when our pack was attacked by a family of rogues. A mom and dad and an older brother. The mother was pregnant and attacked our Alpha, but the Luna got to her first, giving her a sedative. Our luna noticed she was pregnant, but until the luna could have gotten help, the father and son had killed and murdered everyone warriors, family, my parents. My friend and I hid in the pack house somewhere they wouldn’t find us, but I stopped hearing sounds, screams of people dying. I had thought that our pack won that is was safe my friend got out first I heard a scream, his, until there was nothing. I waited and waited; I was crying. Eventually I peeked through the door, and I saw no one. I walked around to find someone who had survived at least, but also watching out for the rogues. I walked until I saw her our luna, crying next to her mate. When our eyes met, she was shocked, then scared signaled me to get closer I did, she hugged me knowingly that I needed one, then she asked me the question I was dreading her to ask me. Her son, if her son was alive. I had to tell her that we hid, but he went out first to check if it was safe and one of the rogues killed him, my best friend. She was so brave; she didn’t cry, she just held me tighter. She gasped like she remembered something. She then told me that the rogue was pregnant and that she had given her a sedative, to look for her she wanted to say goodbye to her mate. I went ahead and found the rogue, she seemed to be in pain. So, I rushed back to let my luna know, but the rogue was getting closer to her. I don’t know where I got the strength from, I grabbed a silver knife and saw there was wolfsbane I covered in it, he never saw me coming. I stabbed it in the heart, it took him a few minutes to die I grabbed my luna pulled her to the other rogue. The luna told me to look for blankets and something to cut with. I rushed to get those things. When I came back, there was a dead rogue next to the pregnant rogue, I assumed it was her son because she was crying holding his head, the luna looked at her, but made her go in a position I wasn’t familiar with at that age, but I saw her pushing and she kept pushing what seemed like forever, until there she was Raya, a baby girl, she was so innocent, my luna looked at her cried, she wanted to keep her, but there was two problems; one she was a rogue’s child and two the luna was dying, when she killed the rogue, he stabbed her with wolfsbane. The luna told me to take the baby, she got up, she took something I don’t know what it was, she told me that she will take care of us, until she can, but that she won’t last long, that she will be dying. I wanted to protest about the baby, but she seemed like she needed this, I knew the baby was going to be dangerous, so I took care of the baby, and the luna until she passed, I ended up caring for her, but unfortunately two pups wandering around wasn’t a good thing especially for humans so I lied saying that I our parents died, in an accident and that we had no living relatives, and it was the whole truth, and we went off to the orphanage. I fought hard to stay together specially since Raya was a baby rogue and didn’t have any family left, she would have caused problems I didn’t want that. We ended up with this nice family who ended up being wolves like us, they already had Jacob. Well you the rest Jacob. We grew up together, Jacob and I along with Raya, we are friends, but Raya and I were basically enemies, I was just a child who wanted to make my luna proud and started to care for Raya, but now I see that her not being part of a real pack made it affect on her. Your alpha blood may have triggered something in her, her rogue side waking up. She’s never been affected by Jacob’s alpha blood it may have to do with the fact that we were raised together, and she was used to it. I thought it was the fact that Raya had a crush on Jacob, feeling like wanting someone she couldn't have. I didn't know much about the wolf community since I lost them at such a young age, but I know enough to know she is reaching an age where there's no going back. Especially if there's no real pack to accept her and to make her an official member. So please, I beg you, kill her or banish her." Chase sounded like he could burst into tears at any minute. He seemed tired.
