Katherine and Peggy were trying to pass the time, finding things to keep the kids busy, although they did a fairly good job by themselves with games, books, and the occasional video on the battery-powered portable DVD player. Good thing they both had such a big supply of batteries, Katherine thought. Imagine what the last week might have been like without movies and video games. It was fortunately staying light a bit longer toward evening, which helped with the kid’s reading.
