Alpha

1041 Words
After we left Gabe's house we drove for what seemed hours out town to a big mansion. As we went through the gates I noticed wolves coming from the forest on the property. I gasped as I realized how many there were. I heard Ashley say, "They could smell you coming. Groups have gone out looking for you since that night." I looked down and asked, "Why is everyone looking for me? I'm not that special." Ashley looked at Gabe who shook his head. "The alpha will explain all of that. I'm sorry I'm being so weird. We just have a lot of rules that I'm bound to." I nod not needing her to be in trouble. Once we pull up to the door a handsome, young man opens my door. As I get out I noticed him bow. I wonder what that was about? I looked at him but kept walking. Gabe and his siblings walked in first. Everyone inside stopped talking to stare at me. Some had looks of surprise, others with looks of fear. One stood out from the crowd. He looked at me like he owned me. It felt like he could look into my soul and see how scared I was. Gabe stopped next to the man staring at me and bowed. Now I knew who it was. As I got closer I noticed I was the only one not bowing now. I tilted my head and said, "Alpha, I presume?" He raised his eyebrow and said, "Half-breed I presume?" then smiled. I stiffened at those words. It made my inner wolf growl. How dare he call me that. He doesn't know well enough to call me that. I think he could tell he'd upset me because smiled and said, "Oh did I offend you? Then maybe you should take note of how everyone is still bowing. Its called respect. Since I am alpha you have to show me respect. Now, bow!" I could hear my inner wolf whimper, so I bowed with a growl. "Very good." He said as he laughed. "You may be as you were." Gabe stood and gave me a stare as if to say behave. I stuck my tongue out at him and we laughed. Gabe then turned to the alpha who looked less than amused. "Alpha this is Cassie. I found her in the woods near my house." Alpha raised his eyebrow and looked at me again. "So, Cassie, how long have you been here?" I looked at him confused. "This town? Only a couple days." I should be truthful with him. "i don't stay in one place too long." Again he raised his eyebrow. "Why is that?" he asked. "Its hard for someone to track me or to grab me if I keep moving." I look down sad. "Its what's best for everyone." Gabe and the alpha look at each other and say at the same time, "Why? Is someone after you?" I shake my head. "No I've just always felt like I was being called somewhere and I didn't want any attachments incase it wasn't a good thing." The alpha laughed. His laugh made my blood boil. "What the f**k is son funny? Is what I said a joke to you? Well I'm glad I can at least make you laugh." No sooner had I said it I was slapped. The alpha had hit me so hard I'd swear my jaw was dislocated. "Don't ever speak to your alpha that way." he growled at me. I stood back up, squared my shoulders and said, "Don't ever put your hands on me again! Alpha or not I will kick your ass." Gabe stepped between us and said, "Maybe I should take Cassie to her room to cool off. I'd bet she's tired and that's why she's acting stupid."once he finished I got a dirty look. "You may be right. Proceed."said the alpha. "Make sure she is well rested for the full moon tonight. She'll need all the rest she can get." he smiled and walked away. A bunch of girls glared at me and then followed him. Once me and Gabe were upstairs with the door closed I punched his shoulder. "What the f**k was that?" Gabe looked shocked. "What do you mean? How did you say all that without your inner wolf stopping you?" I stared at him with a blank look. "Did your inner wolf not react to what just happened?" I nodded. "Yes. She was pissed he hit me. That's why I stood up and went off on him." Gabe just looked stunned. "He's alpha. That means he owns all of us. You can't just talk to him like that without consequences." I nodded. Gabe walked to the door, turned to look at me and said, "Get some rest. There is only a few hours before the full moon." Later that night just before the full moon there was a knock on my door. "Come in." It was Gabe's sister Ashley. "I was sent to get you. The alpha wants to see you before the full moon. Follow me please." I got up and followed her down the hall from my room. Ashley knocks on the door and leaves me standing there alone. "Come in Cassie." I walk into this dark room. The only thing I can see are red curtains and 2 lamps on either side of a huge bed. In the middle of the bed was the alpha. He slides to the of the bed and smiles at me. "you know I think we got off on the wrong foot." He sticks his hand out to me. "My name is Damon. Damon Mills." I look at his hand then take it in mine. I laugh like this is all a joke. That's when it happened. The calling I'd had for so many years. It was back and it was like it was coming off of Damon. "Do you feel that?" I asked. "Yes I fel it. That's why when you said you felt something calling you I laughed. I've had that feeling for years now." He looked deep into my eyes and said, "I think our inner wolves have been searching for each other."
