Fight

As soon as I heard let the fight begin I was out for blood. He said no one was to die tonight, he never said anything about anyone bleeding. But I was going to be smart about it, I had to hold back at first. He has had his wolf about 6 months and has been training, he thinks I’ve only had mine close to a week and have been in a coma most of it. This will be his downfall. I have had Artemis for three years and we have trained in secret, granted she has had an opponent to work with but she is strong.

I continued to circle Alex. I wanted him to get frustrated and attack first. Then I would be able to gauge his strength and see how he moves for attack. He was a little shaky when he swiped his right paw for my face. I easily dodged, he is either hesitant or hasn’t trained much. Now I was ready and even more confident I would be victorious in this challenge.

It was my turn now and I swiped my paw out connecting with his rib and ran it down to his back hip, leaving behind huge cuts. He tried snapping at my face for it and I quickly smacked his jaw away before he got close enough. I started to circle my prey again and he tried to emit his aura to make me submit, he’s really that desperate.I started to run so I could get behind him and then I pounced on his back biting his neck. He yelped out in pain and tried to buck me off of him, and I bit a little harder.

That’s when a guard shifted and latched on my left hind leg and ripped me off. Noah growled and started to move towards us. I growled back at him causing him to stop in his tracks. I turn my focus on the guard since I could tell Alex needed time to recover.

Snapping of both our jaws rang out fur and blood covered the ground. I was fed up and ready for this to end. So I shifted back, grabbed a hold of him and threw him into a tree knocking him out.

“Next one to interfere dies!” I snarled.

I shifted back and turned my focus back onto Alex. He had healed up and was ready for round two. I got in a defensive stance and watched his movements carefully again waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He started to stalk towards me and then changed his pace and charged catching me off guard.

I quickly recovered and slashed his side again, he grabbed a hold of my leg and started to try to rip it off. I whimpered in pain, but pushed through and turned and had a hold of his neck.

“Enough! This ends now. Shift back.” Rang out from the woods.

Alex whimpered and shifted back, one of his guards handed him a pair of shorts. I was still in my wolf form searching the woods to see who spoke. They were powerful I felt it, but not even my Alpha could get me to listen to his commands if I didn’t want to. I did as I was told out of respect after I got over my tantrums.

The king of the wolves emerged from the woods along with more guards. He looked over at me and you could feel the anger rolling off of him. Noah and a few of our warriors came up to me. The warriors held up a sheet and Noah showed me a robe so I could shift back and cover up. I reluctantly did, once I was covered they dropped the sheet.

“What the hell is going on here? Son I know your mother and I raised you better than this.” The king yelled.

“He wants me as his mate. He has bothered every chance he has had since I turned sixteen. He started out by trying to force me to shift. When I was but in the cells by him for my behavior he tested his luck and I put him in his place. And then he has the audacity to state I am his mate and I am to leave my mate. At that he challenged him, he knew if he accepted he would lose me and stated if he wanted a challenge he would have to fight me.” I stated glaring at Alex.

To say the king was angry was an understatement. He was going on and on about how mates are special and you can’t choose the moon goddess chooses for you. And then he went off again about him fighting with a female, we are to be protected and not harmed. That’s when I had to speak up.

“You did see I was kicking his ass right?” I asked.

“I did see you could hold your own. I also saw that one of the royal guards clearly broke the rules and stepped in. And you choose not to level the playing field, you choose to abide by the rules and take on two wolves. And the guard will be punished by his actions.” He then turned to his son. “You will need to start training more. She hasn’t had her wolf very long and was easily matching you in this fight and I could see she could have easily killed you if that wasn’t restricted in this challenge” he said.

He apologized for everybody’s actions, and they left. Noah came up and stuck his face in the crook of my neck and started breathing deeply. I knew he needed to calm himself watching me fight wasn’t easy and going against his instinct to step in when I told him not to was even harder.

When he was finally calmed down he let me go and I headed inside. I needed a nice hot bath to relax my sore muscles, food was next on my agenda, and finally I was going to crash for some well deserved sleep. When I made it to my room Nova was there and had a hot bubble bath ready for me.

After my bath I couldn’t get downstairs fast enough to eat. I had 3 huge plates of steak, ranch potatoes, and corn on the cob. I could feel a food coma coming on and headed upstairs. Noah was waiting by my door for me.

“Noah please I’m tired, can we just talk tomorrow?” I asked.

I didn’t even give him a chance to answer I was to tired. I went in and flopped on my bed and passed out.
