Hunters

They put me in my own cell, as most of who’s down here are males. And they don’t want to put an unmarked and unmated female with them. Unfortunately for me, my friends from the woods earlier are right beside me. I hug James before I walk in and they close the door behind me.

“I’m sorry” I whisper.

They turn and leave, and the harassing starts once they are out of the basement. I move my bed to the center of my cell, so none of them can reach me. I try to mindlink my uncle, but he has me blocked. 

You know we can get out of here right.

Artemis you already got me in enough trouble. Let’s just go to sleep and accept the punishment.

Oh I know the punishment, and as much as I love it you're going to hate it.

I block her and fall asleep after that, there's no point in trying because she’s completely crazy right now. I don’t sleep long before I’m woken up from my new found friends. Most of them down here leave me alone but it’s the ones from the woods that just won’t give up.

“Hey beautiful wake up, we’re bored and wanna have some fun” came a voice. 

Followed by me being hit with something. This goes on for about five minutes, I finally sit up with my eyes ice blue. Artemis and I have both had a day and just want to sleep but this guy is being pig headed. And then it dawned on us, they wanna have some fun. I smirk, I slowly get up and walk over to the bars.

“Come here handsome” I whispered.

“Oh I like where this is going” he grins.

“What’s your name? And what did you have in mind?” I ask with a glint in my eyes.

“Alex and whatever you like beautiful” he saunters closer to the bars.

I quickly reach through and slam him into the bars, landing a few blows to his face and ribs before I let him go. I look around glaring at the rest of the men in the room daring them to speak. I could hear him groaning behind me as his friends helped him up. That oughta teach him to not be so cocky. Before I can say something I hear the door open and someone starts to descend the stairs.

Noah is the face that comes around the corner and stops in front of my cell. He came down with some food for me and to let me know his father was ok. I happily accepted the food since I haven’t eaten since yesterday and I was starving. Alex said something but my head was feeling foggy but whatever it was Noah didn’t like it. I notice Noah’s watching me closely and then I realize this feeling, that prick. He gave me wolfsbane, I have secretly taken little by little over the years to build tolerance so I have to fake it. I staggered to the bed and acted like I passed out, and started slowing my heart beat.

“I’m sorry Angel but I can’t let you go” he whispers as he picks me up.

I can feel him climbing the stairs, and once we’re out of the basement, he turns to start heading up the stairs again. We must have made it to the top floor since now we’re walking down a hallway. I need a plan to escape and leave my pack, everyone will be happier. But before I can think of one or even act on it I’m laid down on a bed and my wrist is chained. My eyes fly open and I am staring at Noah.

Before I can go off he starts to explain what’s going on. I guess his dad wants me to stay in the basement until he’s fully healed. Incase “we” go on a rampage again, thanks a lot Artemis. And as of right now his dad wants me out of the pack or in a forced marriage. So he snuck me out to see what I want but he’s not letting me go even if that means leaving the pack and following me until I accept him.

I turn over not saying a word and fall asleep thinking everything over. When I wake back up he’s sleeping beside me, arms around me and I’m still chained to the wall. I mid-shift and use my claw to pick the lock, all I want is a shower to wash this day away. When I stand I realize I’m not in the outfit I was in before, now I’m in a small white silk nightgown. 

I slowly go into the bathroom and start to run a hot bath to soak in, while waiting for the tub to fill I jump in the shower and wash up. I’ve never liked to take a bath unless I showered first. I add some bubbles to the bath along with epsom salt, I wrap my wet hair in a towel to help it dry and climb in the tub to relax. I must have dozed off a little, because the next thing I know I’m not alone.

He was staring me down with his eyes a sparkling silver so I knew his wolf was present. I was about to yell at him to get out when he did something unexpected. He grabbed the brush and pulled the stool up behind me, and undid the towel on my head. He started to use the towel to dry my hair and then placed it on the floor, so that my long hair wasn’t touching it and then started to brush the knots out of my hair. I was too shocked to move or say anything. He left and came back to place a robe for  me to put on when I got out.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Alastor and before you ask yes I know what he has done and he is sorry, he has given me control since he feels like I might have better luck talking with you. And since he has hurt you, and my mate is loyal to you she will not speak to me please tell me her name.” He replied with hurt in his eyes.

“Artemis” I smiled.

I felt bad that Alastor was caught in the middle. It wasn't his fault, what Noah did and he wasn’t around when it happened to stop him. But with me planning to leave I didn’t want them to get close it would only hurt him more. When he left the bathroom I got out and pulled the plug on the tub so the water would drain and put the robe on. I walked out and started to head to the door to leave, but was pushed into the wall.

“Where are you going?” Alastor asked, shaking.

“I will not wear these clothes that are not mine, I was going to head to my room for my clothes for me to wear.” I said coldly.

“He had them brought here along with new things he bought. It's all in the closet.” He pointed.

I went to the closet and got dressed in a pair of workout shorts and a sports bra. I walked out of the closet and went back to the bathroom to pin my hair up. He followed me in and waited till I was finished and then pulled me back to the bed to rechain my wrist. He told me they had a meeting and would be back and left.

I was not going to be held prisoner by him in his room. I have trained all my life and was now a trainer for kids that wanted to train and had not shifted and he wants to act like I’m some possession of his to keep locked away. Once again I mid-shift and picked the lock setting myself free. I went back to the closet and found a duffel bag and started to pack my clothes. Once my bag was full I put on a pair of my shoes and a jacket I sprayed with perfume to help hide my scent. I threw the bag out the window and then made my way through the pack house and outside. I grabbed my bag and took off, as soon as I made it to the edge of the woods I heard a growl that must have shook the walls to the pack house.

“Where is she? Angel I see you I’m coming for you.” He roared and jumped from the window.

There was no time for me to shift, so I just took off running. By now he has the smell of the jacket and that’s what he is following, so ditch the jacket and keep running towards the waterfall. I can hear multiple people running through the woods and no doubt split up to drag me back to his room. When I finally make it to the waterfall Noah’s already there waiting for me. And boy is he pissed.

I drop my bag and start walking towards him to give him a piece of my mind. But then I hear a stick snap and with my heightened senses I smell we are surrounded by hunters. Then the need to protect this prick as my pack's future alpha and that fact he is my mate kicks in and I growl and run towards him.

“Help, alpha’s in trouble hunters near the waterfall!” I mindlinked all the warriors.

Right when I made it to him a gun shot rang out, then my back stung as many silver balls lodged into it. I was able to push Noah out of the way and he was only hit by a few in his chest. I hit the ground almost blacking out immediately as they were laced with wolfsbane. I already had quite a bit in my system and this amount was more than my tolerance. Hold on Angel I can’t mindlink from the wolfsbane, but I will get you help. Was the last thing I heard before I succumbed to the darkness.
