First Date

I got up at 4am and started my training, I don’t know why I do this since I start all over with everyone at 6am. Plus I train later with the kids that haven’t shifted yet but it’s less training and more teaching them, after our archery lesson. I finished as soon as everyone was getting ready to start so I went over and joined them. And that’s when all the questions started, but now wasn’t the time.

“Guys it's time to train, not gossip, and not ask questions. Now please give James and our pack the respect they deserve and warm up for our training” I yelled.

“Yes Luna” rang out.

Then everyone got real quiet and started stretching before our run. When we were all done I ran upstairs to get a shower before breakfast. I felt bad I was going to have to tell the class training would have to be short today. But I had plans with Noah and needed to shower again and get ready so I had no choice but to cut it short.

The dining room was bustling with everyone talking. Between me taking off yesterday and asking out Noah everyone had something to say. I went to sit in my normal spot but Nova motioned me to sit on the opposite side of her. 

“I’m going to take over your archery class so you can train the kids early so that way you have time to get ready for your date” Nova squealed.

“Thank you Nova I’ll start the class and let them know of the change. And I know you're excited but please calm down it’s not a done deal I’m giving him a chance I have not accepted him or rejected him yet” I replied.

And as if he knew we were talking about him, he entered the dining room and sat beside me. This was why Nova had me change where I sat. I turned and glared at her, which did not go unnoticed by Alpha. I went to go make my plate like I usually do but before I could one Jamie placed one in front of me.

Jamie was Nathan's sister and a wolf that held a high rank but because her and her twin sister Jessie were caught sneaking to “dog fights” they were being punished. Going to a “dog fight” is a terrible thing to do, why do you want to watch your own kind fight to the death. Not to mention them going there could have gotten them in the same boat, vampires are who hold those events they abduct werewolves and force them to fight. They mainly went after rogues unless you pissed them off and a high rank wolf walking in ripe for the taking was a stupid move.

I thanked Jamie for my plate and started to eat, I wanted to hurry up and finish so I could walk Lucas to his bus stop and see how he was doing. I would walk him at least once a week and every other weekend he stayed with me and we watched movies. He was doing well from the attack but still had nightmares but once we started the every other weekend they became less frequent. I was his rock and he was like my little brother and no matter what I would keep this routine with him.

I finished my breakfast and saw him in the doorway so I excused myself to walk him. As we were walking and talking I could sense someone following us, I quickly turned to see Noah. I turned my attention back on Lucas and started to figure out what he wanted see to do tomorrow. Before I knew it we were at the bus stop waiting on his bus, with my shadow not far from us. Once he was on the bus I turned around and headed back to the pack house.

“You know our date is not until 6 so if you want to be all creepy and stalkerish I can still change my mind” I said as I passed him.

“Is this where you go in the morning? You walk and talk with Lucas, you know we have a pack therapist he can see right?” He asked.

“Yes I do this once a week. And yes I know we have a therapist which he goes to but won’t speak to them. We have tried all of them here, I’ve been helping his family since the attack. He hasn’t in a few months but he used to come and sleep in my room at night when he had a nightmare. We now have a routine where he stays the weekend every other weekend. We watch movies and talk and since then he stays home on the weekends he’s not with me” I replied.

I heard him growl and I know it was over him sleeping in my room. I really didn’t care if it upset him. Lucas was 10 and he called me his sister, he was no threat to him like he was thinking.

“Calm down Cujo. He’s like a little brother and if you do anything to him your sealing your fate” I warned.

He didn’t growl anymore, but he didn’t say anything either. Once back at the pack house I went up to my room and he headed up to his office. I figured I would use this time to figure out what I should wear. Looking through my closet I decided to go with my outfit from my birthday. I laid my red dress on the couch and found my heels and laid out. Since the kids were at aww school and I had graduated I was going to take a well deserved nap before training the little ones and then the chaos of getting ready for my date.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light. Double training was tiring but I do it so I can get stronger, I need to be ready when the time comes to save my family. I woke up a few hours later and headed down for lunch, it wouldn’t be long before the kids came home. When I finished eating I figured I’d go up and change for training with the kids and make a lesson plan for Nova since she can go off topic if you don’t rein her in. Once I was ready and had the lesson plan all made up it was time for the archery lesson.

“Ok everyone I have plans tonight so I will be leaving class early with the bigger kids to train them and Miss Nova will continue with you. Nova here’s the lesson plan for today, stick to it. Now separate into your groups I’ll work with the bigger kids since we will be stopping early and Miss Nova will work with the little ones so we are not switching up on you today” I announced.

The kids did as they were told and split up into their groups. They were all getting really good and soon I could cut back on the classes. After about an hour I had the older kids switch over to training. With training that had a long way to go but when they started in 3 years when they shifted it would be a lot easier for them. After I dismissed them before they collapsed on the ground I ran up to shower and get ready for my date. It was 5pm so I had an hour to get ready so I needed to hurry if I was going to do anything with my hair.

When I walked out of my bathroom Nova, Jamie, and Jessie were waiting for me. They had everything ready to help me with my hair and my makeup was all set out which wasn’t much since I was big on makeup. I like more of a natural look. All the girls stood around me and started to curl my hair in thick, undone curls then they brushed them after curling to relax them. This gave them an extremely full look and Nova pulled all of it to the right side and pinned it. When they finished I told them thank you for helping with three people curling instead of one. It was something that could be done in the amount of time I had and it came out beautiful. I did some light makeup and got dressed.

When I went downstairs Noah was waiting for me in a suit. He held out his hand for me and twirled me around when I took it.

“You look beautiful,” he whispered.

“Thank you, so where are we going?” I asked

“It’s a surprise, let's go” he responded.

We got in his truck and headed out for our date. It wasn’t long before we pulled up to Luna Lune de la Moon. It had just opened and the waiting up list was a year out for reservations but with Noah’s mom owning the place we got right in. I order a parmesan crusted filet mignon, lobster, ranch potatoes, and a Caesar salad. Noah ordered the same and asked for a bottle of wine which I quickly declined. Wine and champagne made me tired and I didn’t care for the taste of it either. So I ordered a cran-apple rancher and he ordered a rum and coke. Everything tasted amazing and we decided to share a dessert, as he was ordering it I excused myself and went to the bathroom. When I walked out I was stopped by a man.

“Nevaeh, I heard you were looking for me” He hissed.

“I’m sorry I don’t believe I know who you are” I stated.

“Well let me introduce myself my name is Edward, and I’m the man you agreed to kill. And that beautiful little lady by Noah is my mate Elizabeth, she’s going to keep him company while you come with me” he replied.
