Marcus Wilson having breakfast with his parents before going to school as his dad Mr Wilson got a call from office for an emergency meeting. His wife joined him to work as he drove with fast speed to work. As he was driving, a truck loaded with timber came from no where to hit Mr Wilson's car and smashed the car mercessessly A man around called 9-1-1. "9-1-1, what's your emergency?" Asked the speaker. "There has been an accident around Alemany Boulevard whereby a truck loaded with timber has smushed a couple in their vehicle." "Ok sir,we will be right there." As soon as they arrived,they tried so many ways to rescue Mr and Mrs Wilson but it was in vain. Few minutes after their hardwork,it finally worked and they could rescue the couple. They lost so much blood and had difficulties in breathing. They place them both in a stretcher in the ambulance heading towards ST. Monica's Hospital. As they reached the hospital and were being rushed to the emergency room when Mr Wilson held the hands of his wife and gave his final words to her. "You know I have always loved you and you alone,when I don't come out of here alive please take good care of our son Marcus and make sure he achieves all his goals. I love you dear" as Mr Wilson said and he became mute. The paramedics checked him and he passed away. "No dear,you can't leave us like that. We promised to make our son a great person together so please wake up" said by Mrs Wilson as she was panting severely. Out of shock and pain Mrs Wilson was still panting severely and she was loosing much blood. The doctors did what they could do but she also passed away few minutes later. The doctors recorderd the death of Mr Wilson at 8:55am and Mrs Wilson at 9:05am. Marcus Wilson was in class when principal Piercy called for him to come to his office. "Marcus,I have something to say. But before that whatever I say please don't be harsh on yourself"said by the principal with a sad face. He nodded and the principal proceeded. "Your parents were involved in a gusty accident and as a result of they loosing much blood,they lost their lives". Marcus Wilson was shocked and speechless at the moment. Then after he burst out in tears and was scattering things around him at the principal's office. "Take it easy on yourself Marcus, everything will be fine." But Marcus didn't pay heed to what Mr Piercy said. The principal and other teachers got hold of him before he could do more harm to himself. He was taken back home by Mr Henry the mathematics teacher. Marcus cried all night thinking of his parents. Nanny Niela tried everything to console him but was to no avail. She had to inject some sleeping piles into his tea for him to rest and release stress. The next day Nanny Niella heard a loud knock on the door. She went to open it and found Mr Benjamin, the family lawyer and Mr Dave. "Good morning, nanny Niela". "Is Marcus Wilson awake"said by Mr Benjamin. "No sir,I injected some sleeping pills in his tea last night because he was crying so much. I will go and wake him up". "Ok,thanks" "Please have a seat on the couch" "What can I offer you both?" "For me coffee would be fine"said by the lawyer "I also prefer whiskey " "Ok then I would be right back" She served them both and headed straight to Marcus room because she didn't want to keep them waiting "Marcus! Marcus please wake up.Marcus, the family lawyer and Mr Dave are in search of you" "Please tell them I will be with them shortly,said by Marcus." He woke up brushing his teeth in a hurry and picking something presentable to wear to meet his father's friend and the family lawyer. Few moments later he entered the hall greeting his visitors "Good morning Mr Benjamin". "Good morning Mr Dave". "How are you doing dear?"Mr Dave and Benjamin said together looking at each other. "I'm in pains,I still can't believe my parents are dead and gone." "Don't worry everything will be fine by God's grace"said by Mr Dave. "I am here today to read the will of your parents and the will states that Mr Dave must be present that's why he is around". "And your parents stated clearly in the will that,the moment they die I should read the will so you start getting training and mentorship for the position of being a C.E.O". "And 20% of the profit you make every month should be given to McKinley Children's Home" "Ok Mr Benjamin" "And there is one more thing they wished you did for them" "What is it Mr Benjamin"said by Marcus with a surprise face. "Your parents wants Mr Dave to be your step father. Do you agree??" "Yes I do. He has been with me since childhood. I always see him to be a second father so I'm ever ready for that" "Ok then, by weekend we meet in the court for the adoption arrangements,Mr Benjamin said with great ease after the sleepless night of him thinking of how he could discuss the adoption paper with him" "I will be glad to have a son like you. I have always dreamt of having a family but it couldn't happen because I never had time for my personal life and the ladies I came across were all for my money said by Mr Dave". "I would want to say something" "Come on Marcus! we are all ears" "I would want to give my parents a befitting burial in two weeks time" "Ok dear,no problem" "Mr Dave and I will take our leave now" "If you want anything please contact us as soon as possible "said by Mr Dave After they left Marcus had breakfast and went to his room to sob bitterly. Nanny Niella consoled him each and every day. Days passed by and he was recovering from the heartbreak of loosing his parents and the day for the adoption got closer. On Saturday Nanny Niela bungged into Marcus room with speed. "Marcus your phone has been ringing since but you aren't picking up" "Alright! Alright!" "Who is it?" "What says the time?"Marcus asked continuously leaving nanny Niela speechless. "It's the family lawyer,Mr Benjamin" "Oh no!" "I have to meet them in court and it's past time". "Nanny Niella please make breakfast and iron the clothes I will be wearing to the court." "Ok,son" "I will right away" After some minutes of Marcus being done with his shower,he grabbed a light blue collared button shirt and black pants which was ironed by nanny Niela. "Nanny I'm done so I'm heading to the court now" "Please come back, you have to eat something before going " "Ok,I will have a bite of this sandwich here and eat the remaining on my way" "Ok son,have a good day" "Thanks nanny " "Good morning Mr McCall" "Good morning sir" "Where would you like me to take you today?" " Please take me to the courtroom opposite Mr. Benjamin's office" "Ok sir" Mr McCall drove with fast speed because he was instructed by Marcus. Within forty-five minutes they got to the court and Mr McCall got down from the car to open the door for Marcus to get down from the car. Marcus Wilson got to the court and the judge was really mad at him for wasting his time. But he apologized. "Ok, let's proceed" "Do you,Marcus Wilson accept Mr Dave to be your step father"said by the judge "Yes,I do " "And you,Mr Dave. Do you accept Marcus Wilson to be your step son" "Yes My Lord,I do" "Ok,you can now sign" "Congratulations to both of you"said by Mr Benjamin with so much excitement. "We have to celebrate this special occasion' "Yes we have too,said by Marcus and Mr Dave with great joy" They all went to Mr Dave's house to celebrate their success. Mr Dave and Mr Benjamin took some shoots of whiskey and Marcus just had a glass of champagne. Mr Dave and Mr Benjamin drunk so much whiskey to the extant that Mr Benjamin couldn't drive himself home so Marcus had to let Mr McCall,the chauffeur to drive Mr Benjamin home before taking him to his house. Nanny Niela was a bit worried because neither of them were answering their calls and it was getting darker. On the arrival of Marcus,she was so happy and huggged him tightly. "Where are you from Marcus" "I'm from Mr Dave's house,my new dad" "Oh wow,I'm assuming everything went on well at the court" "Yes nanny, and we went to celebrate at his house" "Ohk,I was really worried because none of you were answering my calls" "Oh sorry nanny,the place was noisy because he was playing music so I guess we didn't hear that" "Nanny I would love to leave your presence now because I'm exhausted" "Ok son,sleep well" "Thanks nanny,you too" The next day Mr Dave woke up with severe headache and had to look for drugs to calm him down. He hurried up making breakfast for himself and taking a shower to go meet his son Marcus. He loved attending church every Sunday so he wanted Marcus to join him. After he was done eating breakfast,he got into his car and drove to the house of Marcus. He was a bit late getting to the house of Marcus because there was so much traffic on the road. "Good morning son,how are you doing"?? "Good morning dad,I'm doing good and you"? "I am also great because I have a family now" "Marcus,get ready for church service",said by Mr Dave "Okay dad" "Nanny Niela please iron my stuffs, I am going to take a shower" "Ok dear,I will be done with the utensils now and iron them for you" "Nanny Niella I would want you to help me with the packing of my luggages to this house because I'm really a busy person and I don't have a maid to do that" Mr Dave said with a commanding voice. "When should I start sir?" "Marcus and I will be going to church today so you could go after we leave the house" "Okay sir" "I would drop the house keys on the kitchen table for you" "Okay" "But is the chauffeur around today? I would like him to drive you to my house " "No sir, he doesn't work on Sundays " "Oh okay, then I will alight you on my way to church and please tell Marcus to hurry up because we are running late " "Okay sir" "Marcus! Marcus! Your dad says you should hurry up because you guys are running late to church " "I'm almost done nanny Niela, please are you also done ironing my clothes?" "I'm almost done " "Okay, please drop them on my bed when you are done with it" "Okay" After some few minutes Marcus hurried up and went to the kitchen to grab some pancakes with juice to Mr Dave's car and he ate them on his way to church. When they got there, church had already started with the preaching so they joined and listened to the powerful sermon ministered to them. After some few hours church had closed and Mr Dave introduced Marcus to his friends as his son and explained to them how they became a family. Nanny Niela called Mr Dave to inform him that she is done with majority of the packing so they should pass by the house to take her home. "Good afternoon nanny Niela" Marcus greeted and gives her a tight hug. " How was church today?" " It was great because the sermon the pastor preached to us was powerful" "Wow I see,can you help me get the boxes into the car?" "Yes,and do you know one thing. I guess I would be going to Mr Dave's church from now onwards because going to my church would remind me of my parents and the memories we had at church " "Aww my dear, please take heart." "I will be fine nanny, it's a matter of time" "Now wipe your tears and let's grab the boxes into the car" "Where is your dad? I think we need some help from him" "He had an emergency call he needed to attend to so I guess he is still communicating with the person on phone " "Ok then,we have to do it by ourselves." "Nanny I think you should rest for a bit so I do the packing of boxes in the car by myself " " But why?" "Because you are getting old and you have been packing since morning so you need rest " " I can rest when we get home" " Yes I know but I want to do this myself " " Oh no,I can't allow you to pack alone. I have to help you" "I didn't want to do this but I guess I have to." "What Marcus?" "I command you to rest now, it's an order from your boss. This was the only way to stop you nanny " " I get you dear" Marcus grabbed the boxes of clothes, documents,shoes and other important items Mr Dave needed much into the car and after some minutes of packing Mr Dave gave him a helping hand because Marcus looked exhausted. After some minutes they finished and took off home. On their way Mr Dave looked at them at the backseat through the front mirror and they looked unhappy and stressful, especially Marcus. So he planned on taking them to a restaurant then after go watch some live matches. "Nanny Niela please pack my stuffs for school tomorrow" "Okay dear" On Monday "Welcome back Marcus Wilson" said by the classmates. "How have you been since the day your parents past away,said by Winfred. "I have been coping but it isn't easy forgetting about the incident" "Guys sit down!" "It's okay with the condolences" "It's time for my class", said by Miss Gabrielle After some hours,the bell hung for closing time. All student rushed in a hurry to leave the school premises to their respective home because they were exhausted from school activities. Two weeks later "Wake up! Wake up!" "Today is the day for your parents funeral"said by nanny Niela. "Ooooooh oooh, nanny can I sleep for a little while" "Didn't you hear what I jxt said, it's your parents funeral day" Marcus got up with a hurry because it seems he has now realized what nanny Niela had said. "Take your shower and join your father at the dinning table" "Ok nanny,I will be done right away" In an hour time "Welcome, welcome guys for coming to the burial of Mr and Mrs Wilson"said by Mr Dave. "Marcus,my condolences once again"said by Tierry. "Thank you my friend" "So what are your plans for the future without your parents?" "I will complete high school with a GPA of 4.5 and get an admission at Harvard University to study corporate law and run my parents companies in success " " Woo, that's a lot you have to do" "Not really,I just have to maintain my grades and focus hard on the training I need to run the company " "Ok for me I'm heading to the University of California, Berkeley " " Yh you once told me that" "Ohk" "Then bye, see you in school " "Ok " The next morning Mr Benjamin attended church with Mr Dave and Marcus to pay his last respect to them after their burial. " Marcus I would want to discuss something important with you" " Ok, then right after church you can but if it can't wait then you can tell me now" " Oh it can wait till we close" "Ok then later " After church service Mr Benjamin was waiting for Marcus and Mr Dave outside but they were been consoled by friends so they couldn't leave just like that. Few minutes later then he saw them approaching him. " You wanted to tell me something earlier " "Yes I did" "Can you please tell me now" "Mm-mm this isn't something I can say standing,we have to get home and we deal with the matter" "Can I know what this is because you are scaring the life out of me" "Let's just get home you will know what I mean" "Okay"
