14 Stuart was in danger

1036 Words
The roar rang in her ears, and Cosette raised her eyes to meet Edward's angered eyes. Edward looked at Cosette’s tear-stained face and depressed the anger in his heart. "Get in the car!" Edward said. Cosette tried to stand up, but she crooked and almost fell. Edward hugged Cosette and put her in the back seat of the car. Cosette's feet’s skin had worn off, and her blood was oozing out. Edward saw it, and his face was very bad. This woman could never take good care of herself. Cosette grabbed Edward's hand and said anxiously: "Please, please take me to the hospital. Stuart…" Edward soon understood why Cosette was so crazy. Something was wrong with Stuart. Damn, why wasn’t I to get the message first? Edward pressed Cosette's shoulder and said, "Listen to me. Stuart will be fine. You must take good care of yourself. Otherwise, I won’t forgive Stuart!" Cosette's mood was so tense now, Edward must calm her down. Sure enough, hearing Edward's words, Cosette's eyes slowly became clear. Cosette stared at Edward and said, "You can’t hurt Stuart!" "If you want me not to hurt him, you just look after yourself, and don't let yourself be in trouble!" Edward said. A black off-road vehicle was running on the street. At the moment, the New York Hospital was busy. "How is Stuart's situation now?" Charles asked Stuart's attending doctor, Lewis. "He’s stable now. but whether he can wake up depends on his own effort, and, with his heart, even if he wakes up, his body can't bear it." Lewis said. Charles sighed.  Then there were anxious footsteps sounded, Cosette walked quickly to Charles. "Charles, what happened to Stuart?" Cosette asked. "Oh, hi, Edward, Cosette," Charles said. "What happened to Stuart?" Cosette asked again. Cosette's eyes were red, looking straight at Charles. Charles looked at Edward, not knowing what to do. "Cosette, calm down first. Stuart, he is now out of danger," Charles said. Cosette's eyes burst into light. "Really?" Cosette asked. "Yes, there is no life-threatening for the time being, but Stuart's heart function is already in total broken. In this situation, even if Stuart woke up, his body could not bear it." Charles said. Edward supported Cosette's crumbling body and asked, "Is there no solution?" "There’s one way, but," Charles said. Charles's words stopped halfway through. Cosette grabbed the last chance as soon as she heard Charles’ words. "Charles, tell me, what should I do?" Cosette said. "For now, the best way is to give Stuart a heart transplant. However, the risk of this kind of surgery is great. Even if we had found a suitable cardiac source, and the operation is successful, but postoperative recovery is a big problem." Charles said. Cosette looked sad again because of Charles' words. "Edward, as far as I know, the heart transplant operation in Canada is currently the most mature in the world. If conditions permit, we can send Stuart to Canada. Maybe he has the possibility to recover." Charles said. "I see, now give us some privacy," Edward said. Charles sighed and walked away. In Stuart's ward, Cosette looked at her unconscious brother, covering her mouth, sobbing silently. Stuart was only eighteen years old. It was supposed to be the best time in his life, but because of his illness, he could only lie in bed. Stuart was so good that he should not live like this. Earl, who got the news, hurried over in the hospital. Stuart got sick, but Earl didn't get the news for the first time, which was his serious negligence. "Now is not the time to investigate your fault. Contact the person in Canada and do the procedures for Stuart." Edward said. "I will do it right away," Earl said. Edward turned and entered the ward, watching Cosette's thin figure, and there was an urge to hug her. "I have asked Earl to go through the relevant procedures and will send Stuart to Canada as soon as possible," Edward said. Cosette heard the sound and looked back at Edward. The two eyes were the opposite, but there was only silence. "Thank you," Cosette said. After a long silence, Cosette can only say these two words. "Everything I do, sooner or later, you will pay it back," Edward said. "I know," Cosette said bitterly. If Cosette could, she didn't want to have any involvement with Edward, but when something like this happened, she didn't know who to ask for help except him. "Coco," Ethan walked in from the outside, looking worried. Cosette didn't know how to greet Ethan, and she could only make a smile. "Why did you come?" Cosette said. "Elvin has already told me everything. Why did you not tell me something like this? I," Ethan said. "Ethan, it's my own business. I can solve it. Can you help me and tell Elliot that I'm sorry? I'm afraid I can't take that role anymore." Cosette said. "Why?" Ethan said. Ethan looked at Cosette, puzzled. Cosette just looked at Stuart. Now Cosette just wanted to stay with Stuart, and she didn't want to do anything until he recovered. "If you want to take care of Stuart, you can ask Elliot for leave. You don't have to resign," Ethan said. "I have made the decision." Cosette said. It was impossible for Cosette to delay the progress of the whole crew because of herself. Cosette knew the few days of leave weren’t enough for her. Delaying one day was a huge loss for the film. "Can you all leave? I want to be with Stuart here alone." Cosette said. Ethan tried to pursued Cosette, but Edward directly dragged him out. "What are you doing?" Ethan said. Ethan shoved away from Edward. "Keep away from Cosette!" Edward said. "Why? Coco is an individual. Why do you interfere with her personal freedom?" Ethan said. Edward approached Ethan step by step, and said in a low voice: "Just because she is my woman and your future aunt, you should be far away from her!" "What?" Ethan said. "I don't care what happened to you before, and what your relationship is. Now you should remember, Cosette, is not the one you can touch!" Edward said. "Edward, you bastard!" Ethan said. Edward glanced at Ethan disdainfully. "If you have the ability, you can try it," Edward said. "What can you do for her when something happened? People respect you because of your identity as Miller Family’s grandchildren. You should thank your grandfather! Can you be the enemy of your family for her? If you can't see clearly about your identity, then don’t think about things that don’t belong to you!" Edward said. Edward finished speaking, striding away without looking at Ethan's frustrated face.
