Chapter 8 It was a moment of weakness, Billy decided. He leaned forward and peered out the windshield of his truck, he was in trouble now. The sun rose high in the sky, nearing lunchtime and Billy was famished. He’d only had an apple for breakfast and that had probably contributed to the fuzzy images pounding his brain. Every image was Laney, bringing back another memory that they’d made together. He didn’t like the way his heart winced with pain every time he thought of Laney. What was he thinking? Agreeing to work with Laney would be pure torture.
