CHAPTER 12. GOING HOME

ANDREW'S POV

"Did this fucker just kicked Evey out of the pack?" I ask my wolf in disbelief.

"He just did, our mate is scared." He responds. He is not happy with this conversation.

"That shewolf came looking for Everly, throwing insults at her and she had the audacity to try to attack her, she even charged at me! Are you telling me that in this pack, you punish those who are being bullied. How long have you known that my mate is a victim of gossip and constant attacks to her? And don't pretend is not happening, because I could tell just by the looks everyone gives her while she is out in the town!" I am seething right now. I don't want Evey to stay, but I don't want her to be kicked out of the pack. I want her to agree to leave on her own terms. This Alpha seems to be just as afraid of Evey as the rest of his pack. If you ask me, they don't deserve her.

"Beta Andrew, you are overstepping. This is not your pack, and you certainly cannot talk to me about my pack matters." Alpha Scott is visibly upset, but I will not let anyone treat my mate like she is trash.

"If my pack provided warriors to guard your borders and train your warriors to help you straighten your line of defense, I think I have the right to discuss pack matters. Seeing that I am overstepping, you can consider our help canceled. My warriors, my mate, and I will leave immediately." I know I am not the Alpha, but as Beta and in charge of my pack until Colt is back to resume his duties, I can make decisions as I see necessary.

"Mr. Hawthorn, maybe we should discuss this. My mate is only acting concerned about our other pack members who have expressed some worry about Evey's recent transformation into the white wolf. We love her, but if you allow us to explain, maybe we can understand each other." The Luna is trying to smooth things over, but I had it, and by the looks on my mate's face, she is done too.

"No need to explain, Lily. I considered you a sister, I thought you had my back, but I see I have always been too much of a burden for all of you. You need me gone, and I won't fight it. I will be packed and ready to go in the next couple of hours." My mate's confident and steady voice comes out, looking at her Luna sternly and determined. I couldn't be more proud.

She takes my hand and guides me to her cottage, and I turn around to see the Alpha and Luna get in their car and leave.

Once inside, I watch my mate crumble to the floor, heartbroken for having been rejected by her own. I pick her up, and she holds onto me, crying until she has no more tears. After that, she looks at me and smiles.

"I will be fine. My wolf has been nagging me about being closer to you. She has been asking to move with you." She looks at me, hopeful. I want nothing but to have her in my pack with me, finally together.

"My wolf has been asking that we take you with us." I give her a smile, we are still holding each other. "Let's pack so we can go home as soon as possible. My warriors are on their way here to help take whatever you need." She leans in and gives me a small kiss on the lips, I don't need more for now. She has finally accepted me, and that makes me content for now.

CECIL'S POV

"I was just called when Ellie was taken to the hospital. She is not my mate, so I couldn't feel what she was feeling. She is still unconscious, but everyone is saying that Evey attacked her. She turned into fire and tried to kill her." Logan is giving me an update on the girl. I didn't think she was going to come to her powers so soon. I have to act fast.

"I need you to keep an eye on her. We will attack Forest Hills and take Evey with us in a few days. I have to prepare my warriors, shouldn't take long." I will have you with me very soon. Once here, you will be mine and your powers, too. I turn to look at Logan, but he is not moving. He looks afraid.

"Sir, Evey is not at Forest Hills anymore." Did I hear right? He lost the girl?

'What the f**k did you just say?" I ask him again. Slowly walking towards him, like a hunter to its prey. He cowards and looks down.

"Alpha Scott asked her to leave, and she left that same night with her mate." He tells me in almost a whisper, but I heard what he said, and it enfuriates me!

"Did you say mate? You are telling me that she is mated again?" I am seeing red right now. Why did he not tell me this before? I would've attacked much sooner. Now she is gone, and who knows where she is.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, but I didn't know. All Ellie told me was that she shifted to a white wolf. They are not friends. She only knew because everyone was invited to the Luna's baby shower. It has been hard keeping an eye on Evey through Ellie. She hates her. She always felt that the Gamma should've chosen her. There was a love triangle some years ago, and Ellie never got over it. She is with me because I don't ask for explanations, but we know we are not mates. It was a way for me to know what the shewolf was doing, nobody suspected." I am surrounded by idiots. Of course her mate had to do with her transformation, the prophecy says so. How was I so stupid? I have to figure something.

"Who is her mate?" I ask, looking at him from every angle, I am trying to decide if I should kill him or if I let him work for me still.

"The Beta of White Creek Pack." He is not even looking at me. His eyes are fixated on the floor, obviously knowing that he might not survive this office.

"That f*****g guy? Nobody has ever attacked them without consequence. My friend Landon was just recently murdered after he kidnapped the Alpha's mate for revenge. I have to think carefully my next step."

"Find out whatever you can about the Beta and the whole pack. strengths and weaknesses. I have to know everything about them, if you succeed, maybe I will let you live." I tell Logan, and he leaves my office really fast before I change my mind.

"Jaylene, come to my office NOW!" I command the slut I've been f*****g. I almost killed her when she told me she was pregnant, but I decided to keep her. When her child is born, I will give him away, and I'll keep Jaylene until my mate comes along.

"You called Alpha." She actually looks decent today. She is no longer wearing the skimpy clothes I'm used to.

"You can move to the Alpha apartment. Use one of the spare bedrooms. Just remember, I'll be the the only that f***s you. Once your child is born, we'll see what to do with you and him." She starts smiling and runs to me. f*****g whores, they don't know how to control themselves.

"Oh Alpha, you will not regret taking me as your mate. Our son will be the best Alpha anyone has seen and..."

I cut her off.

"What the f**k are you talking about? You are not my mate. I killed that b***h long time ago. No, I'm keeping you for the time being. You might be useful to me very soon." Maybe she can help me with my problem about that Beta maybe she will make Everly run to my arms, I think a plan is forming in my head.
